Nice layout, at last one with electric trains and raised pans !, (don't matter if thier fully working or not), just being in contact with the wire is good enough for me. There are so many similar layouts where the electric trains run around with the pan down, the biggest offender is minaturworld in Hamburg.
I'm glad you noticed the pantographs were up. It took some effort in arranginging the ramps in each tunnel and with the curves, getting the catenary wires in the right place above the track. At each exhibition, I still have to run the 1st train each way at dead slow and watch close so as there is no panto disaster awaiting us because a wire is mis-aligned. I think a panto slipping of the wire would cause much damage!
