Before I'd never thought too much of the Opera scene in this game. Granted it's still nice to look at, but it seemed just like pretty but unimportant fluff. What always got to me more was the relationship between Locke and Racheal.

In more recent years I'd been entertaining the thought that perhaps Celes was singing in place of Locke. Maybe that was always the intention and I was just being thick all this time.

In Choir there's two ways to breath in: a right way and a wrong way. When you hear her gasping for air she is drawing in breath the wrong way. She is picking up her shoulders. Putting focus on her shoulders and upper chest. This actually cut down on space in the lungs, so in reaction you get a airy "issp" sound. This also causes strains on holding notes.

The right way is to breath from the stomach. This forces the diaphragm to work harder thus push farther for a cleaner sound.
