@Bradsworld1 Mate do not know but Google Graeme Pearson composites and ask the man himself @MaciejDlugosz very true in regards to aerodynamics, I do not know how you would form true light wieght airfoil steel tubes and keep the structural integrity. That the beauty of composit fibers the ability to have both strenght and form. Thanks for taking the time to comment
Efficiency at 35-45km/h is much depended on the aerodynamics. Not on the weight. So in fact material of the frame doesn't matter that much. The same bike form airfoil steel tubes would be a killer and sure would be durable. Personally I doubt using carbon for such long leverage. But who knows - if the headtube would be 4x stronger - why not. But one last thing - full covered rear wheel. The most turbulances are at the ack. For the rest it's a perfect project - indeed.
@therealkakkamakkara no Mate Google carbon fiber and you will get a better idea of the strength that it has as building material. In the early days there was some fractures but as with anything people will push the envelope for lighter faster results. Also the very nature of a specialist racing machine is that is when you use it RACING, training is done on the workhorse utility machine.
@carmocha4812 ......Baaaarrp...... wrong!!!!....... winners take any edge they can get and if ya ain't living on the edge you are taking up to much space
@tkelly27 Hmmm..!!!! I will have to assume with that comment you are an unsophisticated cyclist who is happy with the mundaine, as you slide your fingers over a bald shiny dome that you have so you can go real fast
@wemmetje1 I am not sure of the weight of Grahams bike but mine is a little more heavier as it was one of the first bikes made and has a foam core. Incredible strong but slightly more weight
@wemmetje1 they are a sweet bike man, what model did you get if it is the hpt xc I did not they had DZZOOIINNNNGG" as a feature :-) Sounds like you are having a good time on it, you most likely need to dial in your riding position and get used to the frame. Go hard man enjoy
@watzzupsport softride did make a full carbon version which may have been comparable. not sure. And of course the beam was different because it had to be adjustable for consumers. i was commenting on the look.

@sirkuttin how can I not agree with you, it looks great ,and if you ever get the opportunity to get a ride you would really enjoy the feel of the bike at 40k it is a treat especially with the tri spoke carbon fiber wheels
Funny how language works but I reckon Lance Armstrong was an amazing man to have the Balls to come back after Cancer and win like he did and still do the things he does now.
If you are a competitive bike rider chafed and uncomfortable balls are at the low end of any pain you are feeling into a 40k time trial.

Very nice bike. I'll ride it !

I wouldnt trust that frame to last very long unless I weighted maybe 30kg tops.

Good this the UCI banned these.

@dahgutone yes drug addled pro cyclist would be dangerous on them, and the old boys club at the UCI would be choking on their feeding tubes.

Seems like the blond dude would be equal in weight and better off monetarily if he got an off the shelf trek and cut his hair.

@mrDanlawHa Ha never thought of that but if was carbon fiber and aerodynamic it would blend in nicely

@watzzupsport oh i see
it looks awesome to me
i'm just a little concerned that 'the seatpost' flexes a lot doesnt it?
i recently bought a cube elite high performance composite frame (mountainbike)
and i think it "bounces" a bit more so to me i think when you drive that bike trew a hole you kinda go "DZZOOIINNNNGG" like 1feet up in the air:p

@watzzupsport no i got the elite hpc (high performance composite)
adn about the "dzoing feature i was actually talking about you bicicle :-)
i just wondered if the seatpost didnt bend when you drive trew a hole?
ps:i will go hard:D
wemmetje1 1 year ago
@wemmetje1 Ha Ha I try to stay away from holes on the road frame, I think I would bend more than the seat post.

@watzzupsport haha i guess so :)

ps: do you have special mountainbike frame to ?if so,i would love to see them
