Could someone explain to we WHY an early ES 175 worth moore than an original L4c ( same year ) It has always been a mystery to me.....since an ES 175 is made of plywood....?
I just purchased my first Gibson es-175 from the custom shop and love it. It plays like a dream. I just had surgery and now can only watch people play until i recover; it was a pleasure watching your video, thanks for sharing.

I had a 175 Sunburst, identical to yours but sold it 10 years ago, I kept my 330 as I preferred the sound and feel. Both my kids are playing now and I wish I'd kept that 175!! Beautiful playing Greg...
The Gibson ES-175 is an amazing guitar. Some guitar can look like it but the 175 feels so good. I like the ES-335, a few Paul Reed Smith guitars as well as my Roland G 303.
@GregsGuitars that's exactly the sound i want.... which guitar would sound similar in a low budget (under 1000 dollars)? please reply. thanks man you're great
Hi Greg. Great video, love your tone. One thing I don't get. This guitar had the the original pickups changed for PAF 1961s? Where do you get those PAF reissue that you mention? I'm considering buying one of these beauties but want to learn more about them.
what a massive sound your getting just with one mic, man i love your tone, you got so much feel. Btw, is this straight into the silverface, or some light pedal that added the texture of the tone you've achieved in this video clips. You rock man
I used to have one in the days when you could pick them up for a song, I was playing with a funk/rock band then so I changed it out for a les paul artisan as it would feedback at low volume, I wish I had not as this is one of the nicest guitars to play in the world, tone wise it can't be beat,,,,, ahahahahahahahahahahah!
Hi Gregor - I absolutely love your playing!! Do you do any instructional stuff? A transcript (tab) of your playing on this would be amazingly helpful.
yes, there is a difference, the old Gibsons are lighter built, old pickups sounding different. But if you got a good new one it will be a great guitar too!
i recently got the epiphone es 175. thinking about switching out the neck pu for a '57 classic humbucker or seth lover. what do you think would give a more authentic gibson PAF tone?
Hey Greg, this is one of my favorite vids on the tube! I love the playin and the sound you get from the 175. This vid is the reason why I am lookin to get 175! .KEEPON STRUMMIN........DALLAS PS I just wish it was longer.........
This is great! Just got an Epiphone 175. I've been watching this clip over and over to get the tabs worked out. Is this a song from someone, or have you worked it out? Tabs would be great.
hey very nice man. I'm about to buy the epiphone version and i was wondering if this guitar also sounds good with distortion to play some fusion stuff
I have a question greg, are those guitar you demo in your video all yours .... because you must have a bunch of money to buy all those vintage beauties .Tell me how you have so many guitars ! :D
