these dolls are awesome they go right back to vintage chic , and like the first barbies with there amazing clothing,barbie appeals to every age every culture and to girls and boys of all ages ,as a male collector i worked in display for a lot of years so barbie can now be the windows i can no longer dress , i can create any decade any time ,and now thanks to the internet im no longer thinking am i the only guy that collects barbie :}

The Mad Men dolls are part of the Barbie Fashion Model Collection which is a line for adult collectors. The BFMC dolls are made of a material called Silkstone, which feels like porcelain, but is sturdier. There is only one body mold used for the female dolls. I have these dolls & they are very well made. The Joan doll actually has padding under her dress to give her a curvier look. With an MSRP of $80.00, they are NOT meant for children.

The Barbie version of the Mad Men character Joan should have been made better. Joan is not stick thin, the woman has beautiful curves. And of course, Mattel-being the sexist company that it is-chose to make her skinny as a twig.

That happened about 1990 when they came out with a porcelain Barbie that sold out in like hours. lol

Though there are collectors for all kinds of toys which is kinda fun!
