  • There was a guy here...who made millions speculation in real estate.

He went to a bank and got a multi- million loan to buy property.

They didn't ask him who he was and how he was going to pay back the money.

They just gave it to him , the guy is now a gold dealer in Amsterdam. Because he just couldn't believe the retardedness of banks.

You used to go to a bank in a suit say sir and present a business plan and get refused a loan.

  • That futurologist guy is dead wrong.

  • Here's the gov'ts own words jason and sayle. Live and learn guys. Also Cornell has a great article out from 1994 stating the same thing I have been saying here.

"""If present population growth, domestic food consumption and topsoil loss trends continue, the US will most likely cease to be a food exporter by approximately 2025 because food grown in the US will be needed for domestic purposes."""

Time to wake up from your dream world. We need to slow down births or nature will.

  • Interesting commentary once again by Rogers. I have heard him call for people in the US to actually produce something during other interviews. This idea is so foreign (so to speak) to Americans that they are actually repulsed by it. Look at commodities prices in the last year. The farmers will be the enduring wealthy of this nation for generations. The dollar is over, and so is US dominance.

  • chineese have small dicks

  • cjlee41: unfortunately, you have a small brain

  • Who is that idiot talking after Jim Rogers.

  • Our population growth in America will be our DEMISE, not our savior! Its not a coincidence that our standard of living has consistently dropped after WW2, its do to our rapid growth of population and immigration. Of course our gov't hides this.

  • The argument that population growth and living standards are inversely related is old and tired and (as history has shown) incorrect. The U.S. population has more than doubled in the past 100 years, and our standard of living has always increased. Why? Technological advancements. In the U.S., food is plentiful and there are enough jobs and supplies for all who want work. No one is dying from population growth in the U.S.

  • You obviously haven't done your homework. Our standard of living in America has been dropping since 1950. Some of it is due to our insane spending practices as sayle79 pointed out below but MOST of it is due to immigration and uncontrolled births. Whether you like to admit or not, the planet can only hold so many people before it fights back. If we don't limit births, mother nature will in a much more harmful and uncaring way.

  • mgilbo1 the reasons of wars (ww1 ww2 ) are the people like you. There is a problem about sharing the wealth in the world.Otherwise this world is able to feed three times more of people.

On the other hand i m also defending birth control but not like having the same rationalizations and justifications that you have.

  • The reason for WW2 and WW1 are because of people like me?? Thats an odd statement. I'm trying to prevent an environmental disaster with our overpopulation and you continue to encourage it. Mark my words, our standard of living will continue to decline. The family unit will continue to erode and America will continue its slide. As other countries demand more food, water etc to live, we will be forced to cut back from our standard of living and there is nothing we can do about it.

  • standard of living - A level of material comfort as measured by the goods, services, and luxuries available to an individual, group, or nation. (from answers dot com)

The U.S. standard of living has always increased since WWII. Make an argument that the U.S. wastes resources faster than new ideas to alleviate that waste are invented and I can agree with you. However, the idea that population growth = decreased standards of living has been disproved time and again. Karl Marx was wrong.

  • Sorry Jason but you are wrong. The only reason the US has had more success than other countries when it came to standard of living is because we consumed most of the commodities in the world. Now with Asia and other 3rd world countries no longer agreeing with America's over consumption as their people starve, our standard of living will CONTINUE TO DECLINE well into the future. The destruction of American society has already happened due to immigration and overpopulation.

  • @mgilbo1 The only reason America exists is because of immigration.

The problem is ppl buying things they cannot afford.

I know Americans who buy cars but they don't have to pay for them for three years.

No loan,no interest. Just see in you three years and then you can pay me. It's absolutely retarded I haven't even used a credit card in my life untill very recently to buy some stuff off the internet.

  • @Durendal33 I mean what kind of retardation is this I get a car but i don't have to pay for it untill three years without interest?

Why do car manufacturers go bankrupt? Why do banks? Because they are run by morons.

Here is your car enjoy see you in three years when the actual bill arrives.

  • @mgilbo1 That was a pretty stupid comment.

  • mglibo1 : that is very unfortunate comment. Your standart of living decreased because USA started using all is economic power and accumulation in order to dominate the world much more rigorously by his military force.

Second, for a citizen of a country which is founded by immigration to reject or deny the immigration is not logical. Your ancestors were not so different from those who are newcomers to USA

  • Its never illogical to state the truth, only illogical not to see it. Overpopulation is not just in America, it is in EVERY country in the world. 40,000 children a day starve to death due to lack of food and yes even in America. Our oceans, lakes and streams are lifeless in many areas, lake beds are drying up due to water use among homes, deserts have nearly doubled in the last 50 years, and wars, crime, murder and every other imaginable crime has increased since 1950. Its not coincidence.

  • Every 20 years someone claims we will run out of food if we don't reduce population growth, and this proclamation has always been answered with improvements in agricultural technology. The U.S. currently pays some farmers to NOT grow crops because it would drive the price of produce so far down that farmers wouldn't be able to make a living farming. There is an overabundance of food as things are presently. Perhaps the push for biofuels will change this, but that remains to be seen.

  • Yes jason some farmers are paid to NOT produce food but since 1994 we have lost 30% of arable land in the US due to overpopulation, housing, roads, and desert growth. The food we eat today has 40-50% of its nutritious value compared to its 1940's total and its going to get worse. Remember, we import ALOT of food and as the world creates more and more children, countries will no longer sell us their food when their kids are starving to death. Dreamland is ending for America and for you too.

  • 1) In what way would you prefer to live as Americans did 60+ years ago? How is this preference an improvement relative to today's "standard of living"? (2) Asia is largely content to have large swathes of its people die by any number of horrible afflictions as is apparent by its lack of care for its environment or its people's working conditions. (3) Where are your "facts" coming from? Please state your (reputable) sources. Convince me with proof rather than these arbitrary numbers you use.

  • no problem Jason. Just emailed you a bunch of nice info for you to read up on. Overpopulation is the biggest problem facing america and we need to wake up quick.

  • I am confused, I thought if there are less to go around the table, it becomes more expensive. How does not growing wheat make the prices go down? I really don't know. can you explain?

  • Your understanding is correct. The US pays some farmers to not grow crops to *prevent* the market price of those crops from going too far down. Incidentally, if anyone lends credence to mgilbo1's analysis of events here, please bother to do your own research. The "info" he sent me managed only to prove to me his propensity for fear mongering. I'm sure he'll disagree.

  • America is hoping on its military power to control the world, unfortunately if you can't fuel your tank, military power means nothing.

  • God is a Chinees

  • Jim Rogers is God!
