Anyways they both suck because it's terribly obvious Vergil is the better one out the two. He can easily defeat both Dante and Kratos.

Gold is an option for the Special Edition game(and is used in the JP version). Normally in Yellow when you die you must either restart the level, or use a Yellow Orb as a continue, placing you at a nearby checkpoint. In Gold mode you can continue an infinite number of times. Or, you can use a Gold Orb to refill your health bar and continue fighting(think of it as multiple lives in an arcade game).

And This game is suprisingly based on the animated series cuz dante's voice is higher in this 1,The Sword is Called Rebellion when In DMC1 its called force edge,he doesnt use devil trigger (Demon Breakthrough) until later,and he just got the DMC office in this 1 and in the Animated Series he lives with an orphan girl and makes her Dante's daughter
