Even, recently I discovered a new drummer called Arnaud Renaville, from Electro Deluxe. It's just amazing guy! I'm loving it! And what if we talk about great classics like Steve Gadd or Dave Weckl... It's hard to try to put them in a kinda' scale.

No, I think that it's a smoother finish on that part of the cymbal, so it's reflecting light a different way, if you look closely, when Akira hits a cymbal, and you can see the underside of it, it has that ring, then all the sudden you see light and images reflecting off of it.

Fairlight60: Anyone who's played on a marching band's bass drum line understands how difficult it is for multiple players to sync up perfectly. There was shakiness between the two drummers. That's what makes this solo *imperfect*. I highly doubt two people who haven't been playing together for years could do this solo PERFECTLY.

they look like ddrum triggers. Plus, why do triggers have to attatch to the shell. They get their input from the vibration of the head. No trigger would work getting input from shell vibrations as the peak sound wave isn't sharp enough for high resolution triggering.

I think he has the triggers attatched to the shell so he can hit the rim and get the sound effects when he has his effects set up, but also use the toms as regular acoustic sounds as needed. He didn't use any of the synth sounds in this vid. Check out some of Akira's other vids on here. You'll see what I'm talking about.

hmm well from my experience playing extreme metal at clubs, triggers link to the rims simply for convenience. we use them on or kicks for a more aggressive kick sound.

Akira Jimbo in my opinion is a very underrated drummer, hes very tight and skillfull and i love his fills involving snare rolls and flams which he seems to like! Ive never heard of the other guy but he seemed cool!

jimbo's from casiopea and the other guy is from t-square. the two bands played a live concert together and the drum battle sequence had great reception, which led to sync dna forming. love em both.
