Not sure about the whole "oil" thing but every time I picked up a shar pei when I was a kid with bare arms they itched like crazy even after you wash em.
@AnitaGofradump2008 Shar-pei's have 3 types of coats, brush coat, horse coat and bear coat. Our old horse coat used to give me rashes on the inside of my arms. Our 2 x latest ones are brush coat . .nice and soft
