I'm not an emotional man but I can remember listening to this song for the first time when I was driving in Florida and thinking the whole song that this guy is a asshole... this woman is literally falling apart on the phone and he's not trying to comfort her he just keeps saying he has to go... and then the line "as the pilot tried to pull out of the dive" hit me like a freight train and I instantly lost it... I had to pull over on the interstate cause I couldn't even see I was crying so hard

I remember when I first heard this song...it obviously got pulled from radio at some point for being way too emotional. I cried each time I heard the song, actually "cry" is too simple of a word...I bawled...through the whole song, especially once I knew what it was about. Then the song disappeared. I never forgot about the song, but I just avoided ever looking it up again, until today. Once again it tore me apart but for new reasons. Now I have two children and it hits harder.
