Afterall, this is all he's known since birth, which was probably a fluke of nature, therefore making it rather easy for him to adapt too...animals are resillient like that you know!!
@XB0XFR34K Puggy has no problems eating! I feed him a combination of wet/dry dog food. He doesn't get a lot of tooth contact with his food, but since his diet doesn't consist of a lot of big chucky foods, he has no problems what so ever eating it. Puggy is an older dog so he's had many years to adapt to his tongue size and has done so amazingly well...animals are vey resillent in that way. The bottom line is... he's healthy, happy and lives a very good doggy life, better than most! : )

@sherribailey75 Since a dog breaths out his mouth and not his nose, as humans do, they are not prone to infection as this is a natural state for them. Puggy's tongue does get dry on occasion; most mostly it's moist due to the excessive saliva he secretes. He does not appear too effected by it one way or the other dry or wet, hangin out or not. Most of the time he's running around the house barking & playing with his toys; he's an extremely happy little guy;his tongue doesn't hold him back none!!

Just so that you know, puggy's tongue does not hinder his quality of life in the least as he is a happy and healthy little fella who lives a wonderful life. In the years that I've had him, he has shown no ill-effects from his over-sized tongue! It's a wonder that Puggy doesn't bust the balloons with his tongue. He's so gentle and you just gotta love it when he barks and pushes that red balloon around (almost as if to say, "get out of my way"). So cute!

@coppertweed No, not really. Puggy has adapted quite well to his abnormally long tongue. I make sure his food is chopped up in very small pieces as this allows him to eat with ease. Puggy really does have a very happly life and I really do appreciate your lovely compliment. : )

It's a wonder that Puggy doesn't bust the balloons with his tongue. He's so gentle and you just gotta love it when he barks and pushes that red balloon around (almost as if to say, "get out of my way"). So cute!

@schmidt9018 I guess you could call it a disorder...I call it a fluke of nature since that's the way he came into world. Puggy has adapted quite well to his tongue though and has no problems eating or anything. thx for stopping by! woof woof : )

@coppertweed No, not really. Puggy has adapted quite well to his abnormally long tongue. I make sure his food is chopped up in very small pieces as this allows him to eat with ease. Puggy really does have a very happly life and I really do appreciate your lovely compliment. : )
