@BruisedEyeSockets .. I guess Sun Kil Moon is essentially an extension of RHP, with Mark frequently using Anthony Koutsos and Phil Carney from RHP.. the central figure has always been Mark and his songwriting. He has also put out some material under his own name. However, in SKM, Mark has not had a consistent, fixed group of bandmembers, as he did in RHP. He's stated in interviews that he has moved on from the RHP name.
@infernus44 There were no micro video cameras in the 90's. The act of recording had to be allowed by the venue and/or artist, because the camera was out in the open, and not small. For those reasons, there's not a lot amateur concert video footage from the 90's. Everyone was just trying to record the audio back then.
I've watched this video over a hundred times. Normally, I'd be embarrassed to say something like that, but it's just THAT special. Mark is one of the very best.
Turntable cafe, how I have excavated your page. I like that someone put these here, I am not sure if you were the first ( not that it matters) good work. Like it.
Thanks for this - this was probably my favourite song from the album. I thought it'd be impossible to play live, but there they are doing it.. Thanks so much - this is very special!
PS is there any footage of Gorden Mack playing? - I've never seen him play
One of my favorites also. Incredible lyrics. I think the studio version is extremely powerful. No Gordon Mack footage (that I'm aware of) unfortunately.
almost enough to make me cry... some of life's best memories are wrapped up in this record - this is the first time in 15 years i've ever seen live footage of RHP as a band
its not alternate tuning, but rather tuned a full step down. it's not hard to play but trying to match the versus'/chorus' with vocals is hard because its kind of played so random. let me know if you have a hard time figuring it out how to play from there and I'll see about tabbing it out.
Sorry, for the slow response. I do have this full show on DVD. When I have time, I'll put up some more songs. I'll try to get another one up this weekend.
Wow, thanks a lot!!! I've been looking for this video for months, especially the "Strawberry Hill"-performance! Any chance you'll be posting more of this show?
You're welcome. I'll be putting some more of this performance up in the near future. I'm trying to parse it all out. It was a very laid back show as you can see. Most of the time Mark and Phil were sitting.
I love this song, I was so lucky yo see Red House Painters in Birmingham England early 1990's supported by Hedi Berry. I didn't come down for days!

I can't believe that as much as RHP toured in the 90's, that this is the only live footage on YT?

This is good stuffff! Mark is such an awesome musician, and one that pulls off everything live almost perfectly, which I like best.

I love this tune. Has anyone got a guitar tab? I know I should be able to work it out from the footage, I guess its alternate tuning?
