The performer isn't playing this piece on a harpsichord or lute... So what?! It's music, it's beautiful, and the performer is doing a pretty great job playing it. Harpsichords aren't very accessible instruments - if you don't like it and feel the need to throw around your opinions, then do so, but post your own video playing your harpsichord or lute if you're so unhappy about someone who put work into learning this on piano. Until then; bravo, to the performer in this video!
The control is good, but you should check the score to make you're actually holding the notes as marked. This not only changes the difficulty of the piece but also alters the sound substantially (at least on a harpsichord - try playing this without the pedal and see what the result is). You seem for example to be jumping off the left hand notes far too briefly(they should overlap).
Good tempo variations (necessary here to express the sense of movement "stopped" by the invisible barricades) and high quality playing. Five stars from me.
I too think to play and upload this so fascinating piece .
Grigrio, I'm a music major and I'm making a recital program for a school project. Can you tell me any special characteristics about this music? Specific contexts, historical saying about this piece? What should we listen for in this music? Nice playing by the way.
I agree with bootjes83 - beautifully done ... though I miss the effect of the repeats - it seems to skip too quickly through the opening section without them.
the fucking "hurry barricades" again on youtube...

This is is supposed to be played by either Harpsichord or Lute not piano, it's too loud and feels very heavy on a piano.

The tempo is too fast and the phrasing kills all the galant character of the piece.
