There were a few later on in the game, and they were BLOODY ANNOYING :P. But unfortunately, Scouts and Medics everywhere made backstabbing a little harder than normal.

During most all Melee matches:

Everyone goes Engineer because of the high crit rate,

Or Everyone goes Heavy because of the high health.

Not necessarily. Engineer only has a high crit rate because of the kills his Sentry gets (no sentry, no crit boost).

Also, medic because his health regenerates, Scout because he runs quicker, and Demoman because he looks awesome :D.
