Lighten up people and light up!! We need these commercials back on the air, in their original form! And let's protest by lighting up everywhere there is a smoking ban in place, such as offices, bars, restaurants, subways, you name it!! Let's call it: Occupy with smoke!! Dig it?!

Stan Sawyer is the announcer (he was "the voice of Salem" throughout most of the '60s). This slogan and jingle was used from 1968 through 1970.

My folks both smoked Salems when I was a boy. The jingle has been one that's always stuck with me, a sign of very effective mareketing, I'd say. This particular ad is my favorite of the Salems. How did they do that mirror effect? BTW, I'm an avid NON-smoker, yet I've always been fascinated by these old cig ads that were banned when I was 7 years old...
