It's a big thing in the anime community, it's all apart of the so called "cute culture"

As for sexual/yiff furries and any of the various categories of a sexual nature dealing with anthropromorphic animals... to each his own.

i.e. A Japanese person wears punk clothing as a fashion statement. An American is usually punk if they are wearing punk clothing
