look around in your area for a avian vetrinarian or goto some vet offices and ask them about it. Their should be wild bird centers in your area that could raise the bird and care for the little thing until its strong and old enough to be released back into the wild where it belongs.
well in the wild they have preditors and natural selection, so theres no worries of over population of them. Rather the contrary. If not monitored animals like them could be in danger of extinction if proper measures are not taken to safeguard habitats and the planet. Ours and later generations may not be able to enjoy these little guys if somethings not done soon to protect the wild flocks of birds everywhere.
@RoseTsukiyomi of all the species that ever existed, how many went extinct before man even came into existence? whats the percentage? nothing wrong with keeping the zebra fink around if thats what people want but the extinction of a species is way, way, way more "normal" and natural than the vast majority of people seem to know.
@toomanyfires Yes but before we existed there was balance to that natural order, but due to the actions of our race we have caused the deaths of countless races through our greed, ignorance and blindness to our responsibilities to our home planet as its guardians and keepers of its well being. How much pollution was caused before man? How many trees fell by unnatural causes before man? My point is simple - extinction is a normal and natural thing but if its caused by our kind its.. Horrid.
a few of my zebra finches have red eyes like that....they're cute birds!!!!!
