This is the most important issue in the history of our country. To get money out of politics, would get the corruption out, and the influence money can buy. Our country would no longer be held hostage by the billionaires and super rich. We can begin to follow the constitution, for the people, by the people, of the people. I have supported a couple of orgnizations trying to end corporate personhood and go back to public financing , what we need is a list of congress members and candidates that will commit to supporting this. A convention of the states is a good plan but does anyone have any knowledge regarding the possibilites as to which states would be for or against ?

I wished they would reconsider calling for a Constitutional convention, because that could be dangerous. How is wolf-pac anything other than a constitutional amendment which repeals the first amendment? People should be able to donate however much they want to a political campaign, and if they do that through a corporation, so what? Corporations are not people with rights, but those with money in the corporations are, and should not have their freedom of speech limited.

Money should not equal the loudness of a political voice. Political voice should be equal for all citizens.

Would it not be easier to get 99% vote as ONE, let congress know that we will vote them out if they do not go by the constitution instead of lobby. Getting 2/3 of 50 states seems harder than 2/3 of congress.
@ProHumanRights you don't seem to understand the problem. government is bought not just because politicians are greedy, but because the political system has been modified to answer to Wall Street first, and the public second. Voting out a politician does nothing to change that rigged system. In spite of my support for this movement, I fail to see how it could possibly succeed. Your basic plan of attack is to coerce two thirds of the states into calling for a constitutional convention, by occupying their state houses? I think not! In Greece, you have thousands of people rioting infront of their parliament building, and yet their voices still fell on deaf ears. This will be no different.
The only problem I see with this idea of the convention is that the politicians who would be writing the thing are already bought so how can we expect them to do a good job and actually get money out of politics instead of doing the opposite and codifying the corruption into the Constitution?

In America, we are required to take a Constitution test in both primary and secondary school, so I have little tolerance for Americans who do not understand their own Constitution. Article 5 is kind of convoluted, so there are two ways to change the Constitution:
1) The amendment process. 2/3 of Congress (both Houses) must pass the amendment, and 3/4 of the states must pass the amendment. then it becomes part of the Constitution.
2) The Constitutional Convention. This is the process Cenk is advocating, but a Convention has no limits on its power. It can completely rewrite the entire Constitution. We have had two Constitutional Conventions in American history, and each convention produced an entirely new Constitution: The Article of Confederation, and the US Constitution.
The amendment process is limited to a single amendment.

You would not only need to vote out every politician, but you would need new politicians that vow to prevent themselves from getting paid by corporations even though it isn't against the law.

@dlancer2k Thank you for the reply. The politicians are controlled by the israel lobby AIPAC who work with FOX and CNN to manipulate votes in congress. That was the reason for my question if perhaps by eliminating the AIPAC lobby by getting eric Holder to get them to register as a foreign agent as JFK tried doing would not work easier and faster.

Now this is a great cause! This is a realistic cause with profound results! This is a great idea! Wolf-PAC is the 99 percent's strategy for battling the corrupt elements of the 1 percent! In spite of my support for this movement, I fail to see how it could possibly succeed. Your basic plan of attack is to coerce two thirds of the states into calling for a constitutional convention, by occupying their state houses? I think not! In Greece, you have thousands of people rioting infront of their parliament building, and yet their voices still fell on deaf ears. This will be no different.

In America, we are required to take a Constitution test in both primary and secondary school, so I have little tolerance for Americans who do not understand their own Constitution. Article 5 is kind of convoluted, so there are two ways to change the Constitution:
1) The amendment process. 2/3 of Congress (both Houses) must pass the amendment, and 3/4 of the states must pass the amendment. then it becomes part of the Constitution.

2) The Constitutional Convention. This is the process Cenk is advocating, but a Convention has no limits on its power. It can completely rewrite the entire Constitution. We have had two Constitutional Conventions in American history, and each convention produced an entirely new Constitution: The Article of Confederation, and the US Constitution.
The amendment process is limited to a single amendment.

Having a constitutional convention is a better way to address multiple issues, than trying to pass several amendments. Amendments are spread over time and that makes 'hijacking by the Koch brothers' much more likely.

@Richardgwm You have no way of knowing that. IMO, the amendment process, which would take at the very least a year or more to happen is much more likely to be hijacked. Things spread out over time tend to lose direct public focus--exactly what the Koch brothers (or whoever) like. A convention is much more difficult to co-opt because it's the center of attention.

@alaskafido Do some research on this topic. We have had TWO Constitutional Conventions. Each resulted in a completely new Constitution: The Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution.
Every academic that has looked at this issue has concluded this is an extremely dangerous thing to do.
If you want the Koch Brothers to rewrite our Constitution, then support a Convention. If you want to fix the Constitution, then amend it.
