  • I didn't watch this for years, as I thought the commisioner didn't deserve to die...

  • "The commissioner is.. diseased. It is a tragedy that he should succeed through the use of force." Only he doesn't get to. Undone by his own paranoia. If ever a character got the fate he deserved, it was Simmonds. An OK episode, not one of the best, but Christopher Lee loans it dignity, Roy Dotrice makes a good villain, and the ending was most satisfying.

  • I think a universal lesson is to be learned here.

    Don't be a Universal Jerk!!!!

  • count docku

  • Why Roger Wyndam-Pryce hated Dracula...and Drusilla.

  • I remember it not being the most exciting episode but the ending would have made Stephen King proud.

  • It's the 'White Wizard'! :-)

  • Do you have a new chronology for the revised series? Logically, this should have been the second episode, but actually it was the fifth episode of the first series.

  • The ultimate irony episode

  • Alive in a box for years and years...the stuff of nightmares.

  • @aajoeyjo Actually he wouldn't have stayed alive. He would have died a slow death from dehydration and starvation, and since the box was sealed, he'd die wallowing in urine and feces, all the while knowing there was nothing he could do....

  • @starsiegeplayer - One imagines he would've fashioned a sharp object from the equipment he had on him & slashed his wrists... I know I would if I found myself in such a situation with no hope of rescue...
