Jeah she is stil...l fucking good, but what does latino music has to do with gipsy one? Or when it "la isla" become "lejla" ? Cigani so cigani! No Espanjol...?**?$#"Wc hjpo,č
Spanish latinos we came from Spain ,and Morroco we have Gipsy blood thats were the Spanish Guitars statered, others are mixed with French and we like same music * Saludos*
"Madonna was least convincing when she grabbed a guitar for a rock remake of Borderline and a dreadful Ray of Light marred by shrill, brittle vocals that surfaced sporadically throughout the 90-minute set. She even spoilt Hung Up with faux metal guitarist antics that set women in rock back about eight years."
The intro is meant to be Romani (Gypsy) - but the again, Romani and Jewish music are very similar in Eastern Europe... In this case though, there is a whole Romani theme and the song "Lela pala tute" that Madonna sings is in Rromanes (= the Romani/Gypsy language) :-)
In general, all the mediterranean music is very similar. Spanish music, flamenco, has a lot of influence from jewish music, italian folkloric music or greek, too.... Turkish music is very similar to mediterranean music, still more because of islamic invasion in Spain (Al Andaluz).
this dance and music was inspired by romanian folklore and gipsy music; and i heard the band is romanian. omg!! and yet...she doesn't come to Romania......too bad.
Actually the band is partly R(r)omani (i.e. Gypsy - not Romanian): they're from Russia and the Ukraine. It's Sasha Kolpakov, his nephew Vadim (dancing + at the guitar) and Arkadiy Gips (at the violin). The are very famous and talented Roma (Gypsy) artists and fantastic persons as well!
