I gotta admit I prefer Ernest on this a lot more. E.T.s version has that little "tongue-in-cheek" attitude to it that fits the lyrics. Glen's great though!

This is the best version of this song period. Elvis did a great job and a couple

of other singers have tried it, but Glen nailed it.

Interesting that Ernest Tubb had a had in creating this great song. Just doesn't seem like his style.... Glen's recording is the best!

I am a huge Elvis fan but this version is the best. The first time I heard him do this was on Shindig in 1965. Strange, some things you never forget.

@jekiwe During the Elvis outtakes for the song at the beginning Elvis adds "just running scared" as per the Roy Orbison song. Great song but Elvis seemed to sing it with more emotion/feeling.
