Basically it's really reminescent of alot of those old german impressionistic movies. They sortof set the standard of how nightmares should be seen in films...

Yeah they were going to have another scene with this bunny in it. Only he was going to be a thousand times bigger and with big claws. They decided to scrap that scene because they wanted to make this movie "featuring hell the devil and the grim reaper" not so scary for children.
