i always find the claim "waterproof" to be a bit sketchy... I mean, when i swim at the beach, i SWIM AT THE BEACH... my going to constantly squint my eyes and rub my face and everything.. do products that are "waterproof" stay on even after all that?
Hi Lisa. I love your sophisticated videos. Small question. Which concealer to choose to cover pigmentation spots on forehead and cheeks on tanned skin in summer? They go dark....:( I have fair combination skin with no problems. Chanel light foundation gives nice even look cause nothing else to cover than sudden pigmentation marks.. . I moved from the north to sunny Crete and got this problem cause i am exposed to sun a lot due to work.... Laure Mercier maybe? Thanx a mil!
Hi Lisa, I wanted to ask you how can I "completely" get rid of the dark circles under the eyes? a make up artist told me its kind of impossible it'll always be there.. is that true? thank you!!
I know I'm supposed to reapply sunscreen, but I don't want to ruin my makeup when I do reapply. Does anyone have any ideas/tips for me? Please thumbs up so Lisa can see this. Thanks!
Hey Lisa your videos are great! 'watched this video and was wondering if you had any tips or recommened any products for acne prone skin on holiday? In a hot climate. My skin is really bad, had redness and acne. My daily makeup routine is simalar to your acne coverig video, using the clinque redness foundation and the Vichy Dermablend foundation. I hope you get change to reply to me.
Lisa, I love your videos, I always learn something new, but Neutrogena has oxybenzone as an active ingredient. That's a very dangerous ingredient as it has been linked to allergies, hormone disruption, and cell damage. It's forming free radicals so it's better to use no suncreen then to use one that has oxybenzone. Just look into it, you might be glad you did after.
Lisa, love your vids; I learn so much from you! Do you know of any makeup magazines that I could subscribe to? I see loads of hair mags and beauty products mags but none that focus on makeup eduction and application SOLELY. Thanks!
I never knew you could apply regular sunscreen straight to your lips! Does it matter whether it's a physical or chemical block, or are both types ok for the lips? Thanks for the informative tutorial! :)

Hi Lisa, i recently discovered your youtube page and im so glad i did. the only problem i have is the fact that a lot (if not all) of the pro makeup brands arent to be found here in Nigeria and it is so disappointing and sometimes frustrating. Nigerian makeup brands are trying but they are a long way from the likes of MAC, Makeup forever, Graftobian etc. Is there anything you can do to help?
@lisaeldridgedotcom a lot of drugstore brands like Elf, Maybelline, L'oreal and Clinique. And when you do, you find only some glosses or lipsticks, for ELf its the glosses, eye shadows and stencils. their foundations, powders, blushes re hard to find and even when you do, its too light for dark skin. the only international brands available in Nigeria are Iman and Sleek and we get the new products when its out of stock or months after its been released.
@BarbsieO I think Sleek make-up has an outlet on Victoria Island, Lagos, check their site for the actual location. Check out some of the beauty supply/chemists in Ikeja they tend to carry some lines from US drug stores. I pretty sure you can find lines like Iman and Fashion fair in Alade Market.

Hi Lisa, Could you please reccomend me a long wearing waterproof concealer for dark under eye circles. I have very thin skin around there which excentuates vains and i'd really like to go swimming when I go on holiday without looking like i've been punched in the eye. It would be greatly appreciated x
Hi Lisa, thanks for another great video! I have a question on makeup on the beach and under the sun in general. Some time ago I read an article about ingredients used in cosmetics and skincare products that increase the photosensitivity of the skin and expose rather than protect the skin causing in that way pigmentation and other issues. It's a pity I can't find the article anywhere in my bookmarks :( Are you aware of specific substances/products that should be avoided under the sun? Thank you!x
@loueze011 check out Kandee Johnson's channel, just type in Kandee Johnson cover up under eye circles into the search bar :) I have a problem to and the video really helped! :) xo
Hi Lisa, I am looking for a previous video of yours called something similar to "4 ways with lipstick". I simply can't find it and it's definitely one of my favourites of yours. Have you deleted it? Sorry to bother you with this but I want to re-visit it. Thanks so much.
BTW! i have a Beauty Channel here on YouTube as well! It would seriously mean THE WORLD to me if you could all go check out my channel and maybe subscribe? haha :)
I just made a 'What's in my bag' video! :)
I'm not spamming i'm just trying to tell people about my channel. :) haha.
@lisaeldridgedotcom: On a completely different side note from beach makeup: I have a really odd skin type... I've got eczema on my face but it's still oily (I suppose because of the summer heat). Anyway, because the skin is damaged and not as durable as regular skin, I'm scared of using regular foundations for fear of them further damaging my skin barrier. Do you recommend any natural makeup or HEALTHY foundation without any real damage or synthetic ingredients? Thanks!
Hi Lisa, I thought I would let you know that if you google dermstore, you can order the KINARA SPA LACTIC ACID SERUM that you love. I was watching your skincare video and you mentioned it. It's so annoying when you love a product and realise you cannot repurchase it. Go into the website and search Kinara Spa Lactic Acid Serum and it comes up priced at $70 - Shelley x
Hi Lisa, Please please recommend a waterproof cream eyeshadow that is easy to find in UK. I'm going to Corfu in a week and can't live without eyeshadow :). Thank you very much
@alinapopescu84 Make Up For Ever do good waterproof cream eyeshadows called aqua creams... you can get them on line from gurumakeupemporium. There is a link on my site x
@lisaeldridgedotcom Thank you so much for the web site. I will order the Natural Eyes Tutorial Kit. I think it's great value for money and I love the colours too. And by the way, you are gorgeus Lisa!!

Hi, can you do a make up look that would cover dark circles? if you have had to do someones make up that has had dark circles how have you covered them and what products have you used? i have bad dark circles i tend to use conceal fx under make up, and then foundation and then studio fix over the top, and you can still see them. I also have broken caplileries on my cheeks so struggle to look naturel, any info would be great :) xx
Hello. I would like to ask you an advice. Always when I use a waterproof mascara after a few hours I have black patches under my eyes (even if I don't get wet). The last time I've tried MUFE Aqua Smoky Lash and the result was the same.
And I don't have this problem with regular mascara. Any idea why is this happening and what should I do? Thanks
How can you NOT like to tan?! Im whiter than you and I have NO idea what I would do if I didnt tan...I just think it adds a healthy glow than just dull white skin which is unfortunatly what we have been given :(
@suitcases100 tanning is the #1 cause of aging skin and cancer. many people do not tan and it has become more and more mainstream not to. i think you should embrace the natural color of your skin and not think of yourself as dull. you will be healthier for it.
@suitcases100 I think light skin is gorgeous! I have tan skin naturally and tan in the sun, but it ain't fun. Or at least, I don't think it's always pretty. :b Sometimes it's more of a pain in the arse. :x
@suitcases100 So true. :b For some reason, I'm Asian but my hair isn't straight. It used to be, but it changed. So freaking annoying when a lock of hair waves oddly. >:|
I have just discovered you, and I think your videos are amazing! I have oily skin, and I sweat all day at my job, so I am going to hunt for a video that may address this! Thank you for your work!
I have quite oily skin too, would you moisturise too before sunscreen? Can you recommend a good daily moisturiser for oily skin that has good spf in it...so I could kill two birds with one stone?
@lisaeldridgedotcom SPF 90 does not exist in Europe, where products are only allowed a maximum of 50 and 30 is the maximum for Australia.
This is to avoid consumer confusion over the real degree and duration of protection offered, labeling restrictions are in force in several countries. In the EU sunscreen labels can only go up to SPF 50+ (actually indicating a SPF of 60 or higher) while Australia's upper limit is 30+. Anything above that is misleading. The US does not have this rule.
I just looked at lancome usa's website and they don't sell the amplicils mascara anymore. Is there another one you recommend? I love all your videos. I can always pick up some tips. Thank you for sharing your time with all of us.
@shalar01@MissZebrafry its true! I just noticed that Amplicils waterproof mascara is no more, thats a shame : ( The closet Lancome one would probably be Hypnose Drama Waterproof, although I havent tried it, its another of their more dramatic ones x
I respect her. Love her. Love all the advice that she provided in this video. But do I like the makeup look??? Hell no. It's to teeny. Hoping for brights that would be more mature or sexy. Something simple.
@var2c I realize this has nothing to do with me, but I am curious. I'm glad you're respectful to Lisa (I think she's brilliant), but I'm wondering how bright makeup is supposed to be mature, sexy, and simple- especially for the beach. I don't think the look is meant to be particularly mature or sexy, but I do think it's simple enough. I hope this doesn't get misconstrued as offensive or rude.
@Michelleyboo18 Thank you for being polite about my comment. You were not rude or offensive at all. I wasn't expecting her to use a bright blue color, cause to some make-up artists that's a no no. I guess It all depends on preference. I hope that makes sense. As far as the brights.. I figure a thin, thin line of a bright color can be sexy for a day at the beach if its on the inner corner of the upper lash line or the outer corner of the lash line. A subtle yet bright beach makeup look. U see?
@var2c I suppose that makes some sense, but then again, bright is bright- at least to me. It seems like you were expecting something very subtle and not actually "bright"; however I do see your point. I definitely agree that it depends on preference; I'm personally terrified of wearing bright makeup like the blue liner.
Hi Lisa, in addition to my questions asked on 7/18 10:44pm regarding your choosing Neutrogena over your other favorites, I was wondering what you think of Shiseido Sun Protection products since you've worked closely with their product development. Thanks again!!!
Hi Lisa, I was wondering why you chose the Neutrogena sunblock that u have featured in this vid instead of other sunblocks on the market. What makes the Neutrogena one ideal/suitable for this kind of look? Is it the texture, long lasting wear or other reasons? Also, would this Neutrogena sunblock feel dry for those with dry skin like myself? Thank u.
Hi Lisa, I have a lot of skin discolouration on only one side of my face. I'm 23, and a bit concerned if this is normal or not as the other cheek/side of face is totally clear and normal. Would this most likely have come from the sun? Any help would be wonderful. x
@akm87 do you drive? I remember reading some research recently which stated that a lot of sun damage came from the rays coming through the car window whilst driving... just a thought x
The beach is the one place I would never wear any make up!! Surely most types of make up (bar waterproof mascara) would just sweat off after an hour or so anyway!? Interesting video though Xx
@CWebbiewoo thats why I dont advise 'skin' make-up like foundation etc. Covering the odd blemish with a long wearing concealer is ok though... especially the first few days when you are maybe feeling self conscious baring all for the first time anyway. Waterproof eyeliner definitely (thanks to new technology) works well. Again its each individuals personal choice... if wearing liner on the beach makes someone feel more confident then I'm all for it. x
@ashleemaegan 90 does not exist. It's just that there are less restrictions on what you can write on a bottle in the US compared to Asutralia, where rules and regulations are much stricter. 90 is misleading. Check wikipedia (by lack of any other links I can mention) for " \sunscreen" under measurements.
Hi, Lisa, I'm a big fan of ur videos. I'm young and i don't wear any of much make-up when going to the beach or the pool But sometime i do feel like putting on some eyeliner for more defination. I have heard a lot about those Make up forever aqua eyeliners, but do u have any suggestion for a cheaper version of it? I'm still in college and those amazing eyeliners are really out of my reach!
hi lisa! love your videos and feature them on my blog quite often (betsy meets world dot com) :) but i'm curious about two things:
1) do you still have your lash extensions/lift on? or are these bare lashes? that mascara is incredible, otherwise!
2) could you do a foundation tutorial in terms of matching certain foundations with oily/combo skin with a few dry spots etc? so many people rave about one foundation and then i hear a totally opposite opinion moments later!
@bsgilf thanks so much for featuring me! I dont have my lash lift anymore so I'm back to dead straight lashes again. I never have extensions done as i dont have the time to top them up regularly. That mascara is very wow...especially as its a waterproof formula. I did make a foundation video a while back ... its in the 'basics' section on my website. There are only a few product suggestion but it may be helpful. Have a look at it & get back to me if you have any questions x
@bsgilf i REALLY appreciate the response, lisa! it truly made my day as i've been such a fan of yours for awhile. i can't find that magical mascara but that won't stop me from looking for it everywhere online :) great to know that the lashes can be built so beautifully without the lash lift you went through (phew!). and i'm thrilled to watch the foundation video again and refresh my memory on the best picks. thanks again and all the best! xo
Lisa, I recently purchased LM Secret Camo in SC1 because I felt the SC2 colors were a bit weird for my fair skin. Do you think I should bump up to SC3 and then blend a lighter color in if needed? I feel like SC1 and SC2 are either too pink or white-ish/yellow and I would like a more neutral option (which I still have a hard time getting when mixed). Thanks!!! :)
Lisa, I have heard that the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage has been reformulated to be more creamy. As this is a FAVORITE product of mine too, I'm so scared that it will be another creamy, melting mess ... have you tried it since this reformulation? (I am sure you re-buy this product much more often than the average makeup user!)
Is it too vain to want to use a little make up after child birth, while at the hospital? I bled a lot when I had my first baby and looked a fright (pale as a ghost), looking half dead in all the photos and all bloated......I'm expecting my second and I don't want to look horrible in those hospital first moments photos again, I want minimal makeup to make me look "alive" and joyful instead of "someone just took the living daylight out of me", can you share what you did or wish you had done?
Also, could you please do a video on how to get the perfect eyebrows, I'm so lost with mine, I have no idea what shape they should be, how long/or short..thick/thin etc. could you please help me out and do a vid. maybe, explaining this.
Just got back from holiday to see this in my subscription box haha!
When I was at the beach I wore a bit of waterproof liner and mascara and soft ochre paint pot over my lids just to even them out. I have oily skin so over my spf I just swept a bit of matte powder to take out the shine and I was ready to go.
Your look is much more fun, I'll have to try it next time. xx
watching you do makeup is like watching a painter paint! its so entertaining to watch you just do makeup because you are that talented/ expert :) great videos :)
hello lisa, i'm 20 years old and i'm starting to get fine lines under my eyes. should i be using sunscreen on my under-eye area? i can't seem to find an eye cream with spf in it. what do you recommend?
also, thanks for making all these amazing tutorials. i just started wearing makeup for the first time in my life a few months ago, and i have to say that you've really helped me through it all. :)
Hi lisa. i have very oily, acne prone skin. and i do i have acne. i was wondering if you could recoment a WARERPROOF sunscreen for me because i am in the water alot
My eyes are very small and I find that when I use liners on my upper eye lids it makes them look smaller... I love the look though but I don't think I could pull it off quite as well as you do any recommendations for me?
@happyRachelface I'm no make up artist or anything, but if you put a light coloured eyeliner (like white or peach) on your lower waterline it'll make your eyes look brighter and bigger :) and maybe you can concentrate the eyeliner on your upper eye lids more on the outer corners. Blue mascara/eyeliner is supposed to help too. There are some great tutorials out there, usually from Asian girls, on how to make your eyes look bigger.
Lisa, you are amazing!!! I love your channel!!! I would so very much appreciate it if you could do a video on how to conceal very dark under eye circles! I have a terrivble problem with this and nothing seems to work! Always creases so badly and I don't even have wrinkles yet!! :( Also, can you please do a video on how to cover pigmentation. I have Indian skin and it's darker around my mouth and anything I use makes it look grey! Please help!!!!!!!! Lots of love xoxo
i always find the claim "waterproof" to be a bit sketchy... I mean, when i swim at the beach, i SWIM AT THE BEACH... my going to constantly squint my eyes and rub my face and everything.. do products that are "waterproof" stay on even after all that?

Hi Lisa, I am looking for a previous video of yours called something similar to "4 ways with lipstick". I simply can't find it and it's definitely one of my favourites of yours. Have you deleted it? Sorry to bother you with this but I want to re-visit it. Thanks so much.

Im whiter than you and I have NO idea what I would do if I didnt tan...I just think it adds a healthy glow than just dull white skin which is unfortunatly what we have been given :(
suitcases100 7 months ago
@suitcases100 tanning is the #1 cause of aging skin and cancer. many people do not tan and it has become more and more mainstream not to. i think you should embrace the natural color of your skin and not think of yourself as dull. you will be healthier for it.
loufromlou 7 months ago
@suitcases100 I think light skin is gorgeous! I have tan skin naturally and tan in the sun, but it ain't fun. Or at least, I don't think it's always pretty. :b Sometimes it's more of a pain in the arse. :x

I have quite oily skin too, would you moisturise too before sunscreen? Can you recommend a good daily moisturiser for oily skin that has good spf in it...so I could kill two birds with one stone?
caroldavis81 7 months ago
@lisaeldridgedotcom SPF 90 does not exist in Europe, where products are only allowed a maximum of 50 and 30 is the maximum for Australia.
This is to avoid consumer confusion over the real degree and duration of protection offered, labeling restrictions are in force in several countries. In the EU sunscreen labels can only go up to SPF 50+ (actually indicating a SPF of 60 or higher) while Australia's upper limit is 30+. Anything above that is misleading. The US does not have this rule.

I respect her. Love her. Love all the advice that she provided in this video. But do I like the makeup look??? Hell no. It's to teeny. Hoping for brights that would be more mature or sexy. Something simple.
var2c 7 months ago
@var2c I realize this has nothing to do with me, but I am curious. I'm glad you're respectful to Lisa (I think she's brilliant), but I'm wondering how bright makeup is supposed to be mature, sexy, and simple- especially for the beach. I don't think the look is meant to be particularly mature or sexy, but I do think it's simple enough. I hope this doesn't get misconstrued as offensive or rude.
Michelleyboo18 7 months ago
@Michelleyboo18 Thank you for being polite about my comment. You were not rude or offensive at all. I wasn't expecting her to use a bright blue color, cause to some make-up artists that's a no no. I guess It all depends on preference. I hope that makes sense. As far as the brights.. I figure a thin, thin line of a bright color can be sexy for a day at the beach if its on the inner corner of the upper lash line or the outer corner of the lash line. A subtle yet bright beach makeup look. U see?
var2c 7 months ago
@var2c I suppose that makes some sense, but then again, bright is bright- at least to me. It seems like you were expecting something very subtle and not actually "bright"; however I do see your point. I definitely agree that it depends on preference; I'm personally terrified of wearing bright makeup like the blue liner.

Hi Lisa, in addition to my questions asked on 7/18 10:44pm regarding your choosing Neutrogena over your other favorites, I was wondering what you think of Shiseido Sun Protection products since you've worked closely with their product development. Thanks again!!!
lind3rf 7 months ago
@lisaeldridgedotcom Sorry Lisa, but which mascara did you use? x I LOVED the look it gave your lashes, but it's not in your product list...? (: x
MissZebrafry 7 months ago

Any help would be wonderful. x
akm87 7 months ago

The beach is the one place I would never wear any make up!! Surely most types of make up (bar waterproof mascara) would just sweat off after an hour or so anyway!? Interesting video though Xx
CWebbiewoo 7 months ago 3
@CWebbiewoo thats why I dont advise 'skin' make-up like foundation etc. Covering the odd blemish with a long wearing concealer is ok though... especially the first few days when you are maybe feeling self conscious baring all for the first time anyway. Waterproof eyeliner definitely (thanks to new technology) works well. Again its each individuals personal choice... if wearing liner on the beach makes someone feel more confident then I'm all for it. x
lisaeldridgedotcom 7 months ago 5
@lisaeldridgedotcom I totally agree, each individuals choice! I just know I personally would be checking for smudges every 5 minutes ;-) x

Factor 90!!!!! Insane. We're only just starting to get factor 50 in Australia...and we're the country where the Ozone has a giant hole in it...
ashleemaegan 7 months ago 3
@ashleemaegan 90 does not exist. It's just that there are less restrictions on what you can write on a bottle in the US compared to Asutralia, where rules and regulations are much stricter. 90 is misleading. Check wikipedia (by lack of any other links I can mention) for " \sunscreen" under measurements.

Hi, Lisa, I'm a big fan of ur videos. I'm young and i don't wear any of much make-up when going to the beach or the pool But sometime i do feel like putting on some eyeliner for more defination. hi lisa! love your videos and feature them on my blog quite often (betsy meets world dot com) :) but i'm curious about two things:
1) do you still have your lash extensions/lift on? or are these bare lashes? that mascara is incredible, otherwise!
2) could you do a foundation tutorial in terms of matching certain foundations with oily/combo skin with a few dry spots etc? so many people rave about one foundation and then i hear a totally opposite opinion moments later!
would so appreciate! xo
bsgilf 7 months ago
@bsgilf thanks so much for featuring me! I dont have my lash lift anymore so I'm back to dead straight lashes again. I never have extensions done as i dont have the time to top them up regularly. That mascara is very wow...especially as its a waterproof formula. I did make a foundation video a while back ... its in the 'basics' section on my website. There are only a few product suggestion but it may be helpful. Have a look at it & get back to me if you have any questions x
lisaeldridgedotcom 7 months ago

Is it too vain to want to use a little make up after child birth, while at the hospital? I bled a lot when I had my first baby and looked a fright (pale as a ghost), looking half dead in all the photos and all bloated......I'm expecting my second and I don't want to look horrible in those hospital first moments photos again, I want minimal makeup to make me look "alive" and joyful instead of "someone just took the living daylight out of me", can you share what you did or wish you had done?

Just got back from holiday to see this in my subscription box haha!
When I was at the beach I wore a bit of waterproof liner and mascara and soft ochre paint pot over my lids just to even them out. I have oily skin so over my spf I just swept a bit of matte powder to take out the shine and I was ready to go.

happyRachelface 7 months ago
@happyRachelface I'm no make up artist or anything, but if you put a light coloured eyeliner (like white or peach) on your lower waterline it'll make your eyes look brighter and bigger :) and maybe you can concentrate the eyeliner on your upper eye lids more on the outer corners. Blue mascara/eyeliner is supposed to help too. There are some great tutorials out there, usually from Asian girls, on how to make your eyes look bigger.
