I've read a some comments concerning his infection, so I'll explain. In FOM, Hale is infected by Crawlers (small bugs used by the Chimera to infect humans with the Chimerian virus). He was the only one in his group to survive the Crawler attack which led to him gaining some Chimerain abilities. In Resistance 2, his infection was held back through regular injections, but he starts missing his injections and later becomes a Chimera himself. In the end, he losses himself to the Chimera.
@ZonifiedPLUS malikov explains that two humans.. daedalus and hale.. where injected directly with the chimeran virus.. and sedated.. daedalus transformed and fled.. gaining knowledge as to the chimerans goals and origins (explained in intel)hales imune system kept the virus at bay. until his RE-infection at york.
Remember that Hale had touched that angel hybrid and acquired its powers so to say Hale is already dead is premature. Besides this game was a complete failure compared to the Resistance FOM so Insomniac needs to make a 3rd anyway to try and recoup their losses from R2. I hope R3 is more like FOM only on steroids...

Yep,that's Nathan Hale. He was 1of2 that was involved in Project Abraham. Reconditioned with the Chimeran Virus, in hopes of becoming a super soldier. Evidently, the project went wrong and this is how it ended up. Believe it or not, Nathan's death should be the least of everyone's worry. If you look in the background of red sky with the torn up planets. That isn't our sky at all. This only insinuates that Earth was teleported either to a different solar system or a different galaxy all together!
i dont believe earth was teleported anywhere i believe the true chimera was teleported here...i think thats what the ships were trying to accomplish and they did...i dont think its broken up planets...i think they're space ships

That we are in a solar system used to breed Chimera (since they can't reproduce themselves). They come to our planet every 6 thousand years? to take over the population and are "called" to join their brethren wherever they are. The other 2 planets could be stripped of resources, or been destroyed during a war with humans or other aliens.

... the two years in between is EXPLAINED in Resistance Retrebution.. play the game and you will learn alot... and the book coming out is explaining what r2 and resistance retrebution didnt.. and more into the whole story.

Well, seeing as Malikov's assistant says something like "he could be dead in 19 hours, or worse, he could end up like Shepard", maybe Hale's accelerated regeneration could heal him of the bullet wound (it worked for Vamp twice in MGS) and he could end up being the final boss in Resistance 3. I hope not anyway, I would rather Hale was blasted through the cranium with a high calibre handgun and his body rots than him becoming Haehalus.
agreed i think that next game = capelli not the retribution char because on livewire they mentioned that the retribution guy has his own story and its exclusive to the psp so its either hale somehow survived and somethings up or you play as capelli

im guessing that the red thing could be another planet, if u play coop and read the mission updates about 5 monthes b4 the invasion, ppl in Hawaii saw a fissure in the sky, when they checked the islands afterwards in another report, there was no1 + everything was intact, no fighting so tehy could have got sucked through :P only a theroy

That planet is one of the planets the Chimera took over millions of years ago. After some research, SRPA sends Capelli there with another fighting group (from the co op). Capelli, along with the other soldiers, fight through Chimeran forces and then when they're close to destroying the planet, Hale appears but as a fully developed Chimera (still in human form though). Hale is leading the Chimera and it is up to Capelli to stop him.
what plz tell me you made that up but I hope that's resistance 3 because if this is it. The game wasn't worht shit of beating.
(lets go spend two whole fucking games holding the chimera back until hale gets kickass powers and then we see some chimeran planet thing and then hale gets shot in the head but we dont even get to see the whole thing or what happens to earth yay!) epic fail!
I think whats gonna happen is they are going to retrieve hales body and study it. However, by shooting him it could have messed with his brain destroying the part that was being controlled by the chimera. Thus leading to Hale being restored to almost full humanity. Then the end will be Hale fighting through hordes of chimera, or possibly another species, to save humanity. Just a guess though.
maybe if they make a 3rd resistance Hale will ressurect because all the chimera have a great healing power and Hale got the power of the leader so i cant wait

MGS 4, LBP and R2 are the best games of this year. The campaign was raw as fuck in R2 and the online`blew me away. I was actually in a 60 player team death match with no lag. The best online of this generation so far. r.i.p COD 4
I read there was once a war between the Pure Chimera and another Alien species. And that the Chimera were once the actual rulers of Earth.
Well this turly is only the beginning considering that war is about to repeat itself. Except humans are now invovled in this war which basically means that it is a three way war.

Well, seeing as Malikov's assistant says something like "he could be dead in 19 hours, or worse, he could end up like Shepard", maybe Hale's accelerated regeneration could heal him of the bullet wound (it worked for Vamp twice in MGS) and he could end up being the final boss in Resistance 3. I hope not anyway, I would rather Hale was blasted through the cranium with a high calibre handgun and his body rots than him becoming Haehalus.

agreed i think that next game = capelli not the retribution char because on livewire they mentioned that the retribution guy has his own story and its exclusive to the psp so its either hale somehow survived and somethings up or you play as capelli

Just beat the game. I don't think Hale is dead, but it not going to be the main character. I think Capelli is a bad ass! Hope he's the new character or him and Hale team up as human and chimera vs the locust from Gears! Lol

NH is Pure Blood Chimera and daedalus knew that also think why he didnt kill NH but gave him a Major Wound so it would prolong him from getting inhibitor treatment also another thing to look at is Project Prometheus

im guessing that the red thing could be another planet, if u play coop and read the mission updates about 5 monthes b4 the invasion, ppl in Hawaii saw a fissure in the sky, when they checked the islands afterwards in another report, there was no1 + everything was intact, no fighting so tehy could have got sucked through :P only a theroy

Hale doestn die. In R3 he is in a coma at the beginnin. It comes out in 2010 we should start seeing the commercials June of 09 if my info is correct

This is the plot of Resistance 3:
That planet is one of the planets the Chimera took over millions of years ago. After some research, SRPA sends Capelli there with another fighting group (from the co op). Capelli, along with the other soldiers, fight through Chimeran forces and then when they're close to destroying the planet, Hale appears but as a fully developed Chimera (still in human form though). Hale is leading the Chimera and it is up to Capelli to stop him.

I think whats gonna happen is they are going to retrieve hales body and study it. However, by shooting him it could have messed with his brain destroying the part that was being controlled by the chimera. Thus leading to Hale being restored to almost full humanity. Then the end will be Hale fighting through hordes of chimera, or possibly another species, to save humanity. Just a guess though.

MGS 4, LBP and R2 are the best games of this year. The campaign was raw as fuck in R2 and the online`blew me away. I was actually in a 60 player team death match with no lag. The best online of this generation so far. r.i.p COD 4

I read there was once a war between the Pure Chimera and another Alien species. And that the Chimera were once the actual rulers of Earth.
Well this turly is only the beginning considering that war is about to repeat itself. Except humans are now invovled in this war which basically means that it is a three way war.
