  • How good is Stewart Copeland!?!

  • 80s-gasm!

best performance of this song though. i love the tempo, and stewart's little fills

  • if some people call matt cameron is a legend i think they should hear this song...and try to compare beetween the fixer (pearl jam) and this song...i think matt try to play like stewart....but to bad....not even clouse...theres only one man who can play like this....stewart copeland...

  • at 3:03 that sustained chord that he lets ring out is so beautiful.

  • probaly one of the most underrated guitarist and drummer.

  • FUUUUCK...am I allowed to say this here???? this is FUCKING AMAZING!!!!

    STEWART COPELAND RULES

  • Damn his voice is insane!

  • Kick ass video!!! Thanks! (Stew is such a bad-ass...)

  • 3:06

  • Who's the ridiculous girl?

  • yeah 0:42 sexy dancing girl !!!

  • Sting looks like Woody Harrelson.

  • Stewart Copeland....FTW!!!!

  • Stewart Copeland is so on blow or sth.

  • @8ToMoT8 Real musicians use drugs! It's a good thing!

  • 0:43 - 0:53 Hermoine Graynja :D

  • if sting had grown his hair longer, he would probably look like David Lee Roth...

  • 3:19-3:30 rock

  • Amazing performance!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:43

    WTF? - 0:52

  • wha't that sh*t between 1:35-1:43 just gave me a seizure

  • All 3 of them are great... but Stewart Copeland ,,, man, he's ist one of my 2 favorite drummer EVER...

Not many people can combine joy + precision in that way..and he pushes and pushes.. still being playful... just totally amazing...

  • They should put this on the next Voyager spacecraft

  • EPIC CONCERT, EPIC VIDEO, EPICSONG!!!!

  • i get chills just by watching stewart, none can put more energy into a song like him

    he was born for this

  • check out those toms! immense

  • Don't see many drummers use traditional grip anymore. All that Remains drummer does though.

  • this video is an epileptics worsted nightmare

  • i hope that this will help the world drive away rap music forever

  • This will never grow old or fade.

    Best version available on youtube.

  • EPIC EPIC !!!

  • why the hell did they go through the trouble of outlining that woman at the beginning? the probably spent an hour editing that, what the fuck? and how embarrassing.

  • amazing performance, Copeland was unreal, btw anyone notice the dude in the back left at 2:56...lmao !!!

  • Copeland....Brilliance!!!!

  • Stewart Copeland is the greatest.

  • The Passion and raw quality as musicians really set them apart from average . Nowadays seldom times you find live musicians of this caliber. Classic!

  • What a rythm! The whole song is carried by Stewart Copeland. He's lead most of the Police songs form a drum set anyway . Awesome!!!

  • they are all fucking phenomenal musicians but the drums are certainly impressive from a reggae standing point

  • all 3 of them incredible on their own.....

    but PHENOMENAL together !

ya, Stewart definitely led the PolicE, though.....

    i agree.

but quite a bit of the music that they played, DEMANDED that Stewart be excellent.

  • this rocks

  • grande copeland

  • ok the director is a disgrace to music. he ruined this video omg., wtf was that at 3:00 all these effects this was a sick performance ABSOLUTELY RUINED pathetic but this is one great banddd

  • Stewart Copeland as usual is great!!!

  • Man, Sting was a stud back in the day.

  • at 3:00 minutes. that chick totally didnt know how the song went lol

  • I want to get this dvd, but goddamn the special effects are fucking retarded. The director should be shot.

  • Just get the ghost in the machine one there isnt really any bad effects

  • fuckin amen to that brother...i've thought that shit for years. its a crying shame because this was recorded when the police were not only at the peak of their popularity, but of their ability as well. thank you mr director and editor for fucking up a great performance.

  • I agree. When I buy a concert video, I want to see the band, not the people in the crowd.

  • in my point of view all the great rock legends were prominant and truly thrived before i was born (1993).

  • i was wondering why can't videos be watched in their original size anymore does anyone know ?

  • wow...gordy and the boys sure rocked back in the day...any else notice the drumstick at 0:15..awesome...!!

  • only a true police fan would notice!!! that's like copeland's trademark stick trick the he does!!! so cool! i can do it too!!!

  • @dw2345 it's not a drop... he flips it back with fingers... does it at 3:03 too :P

  • @dw2345 What does "back in the day" mean? You mean back in the old days? Back in the day has to be one of the most ambiguous and silly expressions I've ever heard. Back in what day? At least back in the "old days" implies a past tense. It is evidence that the majority of people are either illiterate or show an abysmal failure in their understanding of the english language.

  • @guitarthroat The day is obviously referring to the time the video was shot that's being commented. That's implied. Understanding the english language has nothing to do with being totally literal in everything you say. The phrase 'back in the day' is supposed to be evocative not ultra specific to a certain time and day.

  • @guitarthroat Why are you going off on him? lol dude everyone says that who fucking cares everyone knew what he meant

  • stings suit fuckin rocks!

  • what is that, by the way?

  • LMAO

Anyone on this earth who says Travis Barker is better than Stewart Copeland is just being silly.

I saw the Police live in Belfast, and even at the age he is now Barker cannot touch Copeland on anything but speed.

    What a stupid stupid person.

  • travis barker isnt even that good. copeland would own him in everyway. copeland has an amazing style

  • I have this dvd, and its ok...but that the thing that annoyed me is all of the audience shots. I mean of course they would have shots of the audience....but like every 5 seconds it zooms on random annoying people in the audience. And then on Spirits, it has like a strobe light that will give u a head ache if you watch it. But besides that the music sounds pretty good. ;)

  • The lead singer spunds a lot like my friend devon Dole. he moved to Las Vegas when i was 10.

  • don't care

  • AMAZING!!!!!no words to explain that, some kind of feeling around my hearth.....

  • atlanta the people there are fuckin boring dont know how to enjoy concert

  • Stewart Copeland's drums are the best sounding of all

  • @piratelord89

Wish they'd sounded that way during the reunion tour.

He gave up using the Remo Ambassador heads that he's using in this 1983 video.

  • @piratelord89 other than bill berry

  • 1:28 to 1:40 gave me head trauma.

  • XDD

  • The best version of this song I have ever heard. The drumming in it blows me away, it sounds so good (especially at the end)

  • LOL, the audience high ! Amazing Song

  • where was this concert recorded?

  • Atlanta

  • what is sting wearing? ahah i remember that trend

  • No doubt! ~when ALL yer friends dressed like: "PIRATES" AND YOU Were like: "TOTALLY embarrassed!" to be seen with them!!

  • No doubt! ~when ALL yer friends dressed like: "PIRATES" AND YOU Were like: "TOTALLY embarrassed!" to be seen with them!!

  • i think this is the best live version out of the 2007 version and the very first version and this version

  • how old is sting now?

  • what kind of bass guitar is sting using at this concert ?

  • My favorite rendition of this, performed at the Omni in Atlanta. Fast, frenetic, and *oh* so tight. What a great workout on the drums - that's some way to have fun, huh?

I've watched this so many times through the years it's ridiculous, and never grow tired of hearing that Splat! coming from his snare.

This guy does it without relying on ten tons of effects to try to prop up his chops. It's just a balls-out hard work effort. One of the best - I don't think anyone would argue that.

  • this this available On videotape, dvd

    'Something', anything??? Reminds me like:

'So much' when i saw them in '82!!

  • Buy the Synchronicity DVD this and a lot more is on there. You will be blown away!

  • like: "THANKS Dude!!" i will be 'in The Hunt' for it!

  • whoever said travis was a better drummer than stewart doesnt have a wide range of music they listen to. i'm the biggest blink fan alive and think travis is the best drummer TODAY, but to exclude guys like john bonham and stewart copeland is crazy.

  • Travis the best drummer today, *laugh*

  • well gay

  • Stewart Copeland for the win!

  • Dude, you calle Travis Barker better than Copeland. Enough said. Moron.

  • What the hell are you talking about? I never said that and never would have...

  • What the hell are YOU talking about. My comment was a response to Hollisteboy, if you checked.

  • Actually, you used the reply button on my message, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten an e-mail about it and would have had no reason to say that.

  • Hhahahaha, you win. Regardless, it ws a reply to him.

  • LOL...make sure to hit the correct reply button next time....u might accidently start a war...lol

  • I totally heart The Police!

  • What are you talking about, Stewart doesn't play for himself

  • the best drummer ever

  • Copeland all the way. Travis Barker can blow me when it comes down to him and Stew

  • the police is coming to peru =D

  • damn no solo guitar at the end

  • Da Polis at the top o their powers - greeeaaaat!!!!

  • ONE OF THE BEST BANDS EVAHHH!!!

  • omg 2:05 copeland's stick spin. Ace.

  • STEWART COPELAND best drummer ever?

  • amazing yes but travis barker i think is far beyond his time

  • Travis Barker can dream of the day he can suck Stewart Copeland's socks.

  • Your name has Hollister in it. Haha, therefore, we must ignore your comments now.

  • ....... you are very funny like i'm dying here of laughter oh and youve made me feel so bad, like damn some dude on youtube has "made fun" of my name. *pause* bravo bravo

  • Surely one of the most original drummers of the modern rock era.

  • jajajaja travis barker doesn´t have a song like this

  • people don't know real drumming anymore...copeland's timing was absolutely amazing

  • SO TRUE BEST OF ALL TIME IMO

  • "AYE CAPTAIN! HE SPEAKS THE TRUTH!!"

  • hey uh...totally unrelated but what's jajajaja mean? everytime my friends speak spanish they say it..

oh and by the way copeland's awesome :D

  • jajajaja means that i was laughing.

    Like hahahahaha.peace

  • You fucking Douche. he's moving his mouth. I'm pretty sure he's talking

  • hey GAMER theres no sound because hes not talking in to the mic you moron. this crowd sucks my balls you cant even hear them

  • i cant wait til i go to see there concert at the palace in detroit. this band is awesom.

  • classic

  • lol i remember hearing a version of this song when stings voice was horsed XD can't remember the name tho

  • godlike

  • fucking gay faggots dancing look like retards

  • there way more succesful than you'll ever be so shut the hell up.

  • haha, i think he was referring to the audience.

  • la mejor perfomance of message in a bottle

  • Lol. Sting's mic crapped out on him. You can see his mouth moving, but no sound comes out.

  • It didn't crap out. He walked away from it to get the audience to sing the chorus.

  • @ jjdubs, Yeah it did. You could see he touched it and looked puzzled for a second.

  • copeland 4 prez

  • Anyone know who the opening act(s) is for the July 5th show at Wrigley Field in Chicago?

  • i cant imagine this song with anyone but Sting doing vocals, it wouldn't sound right

  • Because Sting's vocie is awesome! It really doesn't matter if it is live on stage or in studio. I can't hear difference really

  • what the fuck is with that chic dancing?

    ruins whole song

  • awesome.

  • Normally I dislike live versions, but they are one of the few whom everything they seem to put out sounds so damn good to me.

  • this band rocks!!!!!! but the last time they played it the very last time it sucked.

  • Old or not, there still one of the best bands ever!

  • I went to the Seattle show hoping to see this kind of performance. Unfortunately, the 2007 version is watered down crap. Copeland is not the same drummer. Not even close. Those of you expecting a 1983 style attacking performance will be sorely disappointed. You drummers/musicians out there will understand...

  • blakecam....Gotta cut them a little slack dude. Their energy level and quality musicianship was nearly unmatched. They made other bands sound silly. I would imagine the time apart and then being quite a bit older has taken a good bite out of their sound.

  • I think those going to the concerts should be glad they are seeing the fucking POLICE. Lord knows how unexpected their reunion was... Be happy you got to see a band who probably won't tour EVER again...

  • OJO CHILE!! the police el 8 y 9 de diciembre estadio nacional

  • Thanks babylad!
