  • Still my favorite SoS. Powerful message, ever since I saw this video I have felt intimately connected to the cosmos. To know that you simply aren't born into this universe but out of it. "We are a way for cosmos to know itself". Thank you John for enriching the lives of so many, including mine with your wonderful symphonies.

  • even this music is better than bieber, gaga and other crap because the lyrics make sense.

  • This is the love child of when Wall-E had sex with a Speak-and-Spell..yall know what I am talking about...omnomnomnom! PEACE AND LOVE!!!!!

  • Now without the auto-tune...

  • Such a lovely idea and superb execution.

  • Anyone who dislikes this video must be dead inside.

  • If you released all these on cd or something for digital download I totally would buy. (For now I'll settle for ripping them off youtube!) However I still think this is purchasable material.

  • @Xellith - You're in luck - he already did it :) You can dl them in high quality for free, or as much as you want to donate - google symphony of science and it's on the website, left-hand menu

  • @chuffmunky sweet with a capital hot damn

  • @Xellith

Click the link in the description.

  • autotune lol nice music is good as well as the message

  • bill nye with the drop @ 0:38

im this dot standing on a planet

really im just a speck im just a speck

    compared with the stars

the planet is just another speck

to think about all of this

to think about the vast emptiness of space

there's billions and billions of stars

    billions and billions of specks

  • These really do put my child to sleep. Soothing. As I said before, lullabies.

  • 476 people need to relax, sit down on the beach in the sunset and bongo with Feynman, while Sagan rolls them up a doobie. Tyson is building a campfire to cook the fish Nye just caught, and Cox will be along in a bit with a couple scopes.

  • @chuffmunky I'd love to chill like that.

  • Im so sad right now, and crying so bad. I miss Sagan and Feynman ;_;

  • Some men just want to watch the world learn...

  • these videos just make me love life.

  • 476 people aren't connected. Herp derp.

  • Scientific question: Would Carl Sagan watch this high?

  • @iugey yes sir

  • @iugey

Since Carl Sagan smoked pot more than regularly, i'm going to say yes.

  • I am a speck, living in a speck-dwelling, within a speck city, in a speck state, on a speck country, on a speck planet, orbiting a speck sun which is the center of a speck system, which is within a speck cluster within a speck nebulae within a speck sector within a speck galaxy within an AAAAAAAUUUUGGGGGH MY BRAAAAAAIN!!!

  • Sorry for double posting. I am having problems with my iPhone even though we are the same atomically. I keep telling it we are made of stars.

  • @JasonLovesLife To quote courage wolf:

Every atom in your body was forged in a dying star!

    ACT LIKE IT

  • @MagneticPig Not sure who courage wolf is and I am not sure on the accuracy of that statement.

  • @JasonLovesLife Courage Wolf is an internet meme, and that statement is accurate (nuclear fusion)

  • I love this video. I listen to it several times a week.

  • I love this. I listen to it several times a week!

  • thumbs up if you want apsolutely everyone to stop arguing needlessly over a spirituality of any type vs. science of any type debate/arguement and want people to see this comment so that they will stop all of that and just enjoy this masterpiece of a video for what it is, while also commenting on how it's great for that reason.

  • 476 are religious nuts.

  • @GotMelky01 i agree, even as a spiritual person whom also loves science myself, that doesn't mean one has to dislike the video just because thier clergy told them to. i mean, it's a truly wonderful masterpiece, so why not like it for what it is?

  • The autotuning is terribly cheesy but so what, the music's great and I love it just for what it's set out to achieve. Gonna have to find all the old Sagan stuff now. I mean - "we are a way for the cosmos to know itself" - that's almost spiritual, like pandeism or the Tao of Physics. :D

  • @chuffmunky sorry i think i mean Pantheism - anyway whichever the label is for the philosophy which argues the cosmos is a living evolving entity, with a emergent consciousness in which we are all participants.

  • 476 people are incapable of experiencing wonder. It's a shame.

  • 476 have no understanding of what the word Cosmos mean!

  • Even if I believed God was real, I'd show him all we have achieved and spit in his metaphysical face.

  • One from this series needs to be played each morning at assembly on a big screen with dynamic sound to every school child in the world. No excuses.

  • @AtheistwithAttitude Then you'd have religious people complaining how we're taking religion out of schools, but we're allowed to force our science onto them.

  • @AtheistwithAttitude hell yeah :D

  • @AtheistwithAttitude You would indoctrinate children with a sense of wonder and an appreciation for scientific knowledge? You monster! The last thing they need is to be taught to look at the Universe and think that so much of it is unknown and just waiting to be discovered. No, it is much better to instead get them to sing hymns stating god that God made everything and that everything they need to be learnt can be found in the bible.

  • @195ashes I thnk your a little bit harsh He never said anything about you being wrong and you have to realise EVERY religoin has the same basist as ours You know Dont kill people, be nice ,and that stuff AND everyone beleaves there religoin the same as anyother belaves theres is true, Atheist is not the belif of science but the belief that there is nah god, Also I dont see why jesus wouldnt want us to see whats out there, May I read a quot from my bible?

  • @195ashes (Continued) God made adam in his image... So yeah The reason we explore is because thats god the reason we kill is fear Whitch came from sin whitch came from YOU GUEASSED IT Ceryoscity (Sorry english is not my first languease Im using google tranlater :( Any way To see what would happen so God's love for serching + our weakness + one devil = SIN

  • @airportceo

I appreciate that you're trying to find goodness in religion, but you're forgetting a few things:

    * Sin has changed over the years. The things you think of as godly would have been mortal sins 500 years ago. Sin is the religious word for unwanted behaviour. Only the thing is that religion doesn't want a few things which are perfectly acceptable to other people.

    * You quote the bible and attribute things to god and the devil. What proof do you have that any of these are true?

  • @airportceo It's probably the language barrier, but your argument is incoherent. From what I do understand, you've made counter-arguments to points I haven't even made; I was using verbal irony.

  • this is ingenius. one of the better things on youtube.

  • @muggedinmadrid One of the BEST things on youtube. There, I corrected your obvious typing error :P. Your welcome.

  • @195ashes lol i stand corrected. you're quite right. i also agree with one of the top comments; things like this should be played in school assemblies rather than meaningless, inane songs.

  • Do I find the possibility that we are all unique, and eternal in the form of our souls beautiful? That when we die, we go to a place better than this? Yes, I do.

But do you know what I find even more beautiful? The possibility that we are all one, connected in ways that are unimaginable to most people. That we never truly 'die,' we live on in others. That we are all one consciousness, simply trying to find our place.

Now, which does science teach, and which is religion?

  • Is it weird that this the beauty of this song makes me want to cry?

  • @joemantex I think anyone with a mind feels that way

  • I get shivers every time :)

  • Muito Obrigada Filipe pela tradução!

  • VICTORY, WE HAVE VICTORY.

  • Inspiring!

  • "We made from the star stuff" it's all over Islam, Christianity and Judaism,

  • These shall be my daughter's lullabies.

  • @MaxiBaddable Totally stealing that if I ever have kids!

  • When I am feeling sad, I listen to the symphony of science, then I stop beeing sad and have a great feeling.

The atoms of my body was breed in stars billions of years ago.

The molecules and genes of my body are a story of success over tha last 3 billion years.

    That is awsome.

  • @InvAmat I agree. Knowing that the atoms that compose your body were forged inside of a star is very empowering and beautiful

  • @InvAmat Way more amazing than any God.

  • @dinoboy05

    Same!

I actually think I wake up with a different mindset after listening the night before. More refreshed, more exited about the world.

  • what is SOPA???

  • @TKwoolston Stop online privacy act

  • I like the message but the reverberation is annoying

  • I found a whole story made out of Watermarks on Our Planet using Google Earth and I found them in something else to. I just posted my latest video- I found pictures of God! I've put the story together and made a video of it to share with you. When your finished tell someone what you saw this day !! He Lives ! Come see my Channel and look at the Amazing things I've found ! I even found the Garden of Eden - come see !!

  • @downyourtube The garden of eden.... *facepalm*

  • "The beauty of a living thing is not the atoms that go into it"

When Carl Sagan kicks in, I just get the shivers from that line.

  • @JokerFan252 That entire line, "The beauty of a living thing is not the atoms that go into it, but the way those atoms are put together" is honestly one of the most profound things I've ever heard. Much to think about.

  • cosmos is happy that it loves itself it loves us :)

  • untill a few weeks ago i had absolutly no idea witch direction i was going in life/school but after listining to all of the songs on science you created i now know that direction. its the cosmos...

  • SO BEAUTIFUL " we are a way for the cosmos to now itself " d*_*b FUUUUUUUUU

  • A strong contender for my favourite video on YouTube.

  • where is GOD?

  • @MCgt1 In a book created by man.

  • @MCgt1 Imaginationland.

  • @MCgt1 if he was real..he just be a speck

  • @MCgt1

    In "the Quantum World".

  • anyone else play this song at parties?

  • Carl Sagan is sex

  • THE SCIENCE SHOW, pianos!

  • @deathlyemo123 Who thought of this?!

  • @MechaStudios Tomska.

  • watch out, we got a badass at 0:10

  • I'm sorry.... I'm not crying.... I'm leaking droplets of water-based scientific appreciation.

  • I'm not just a speck..... :(

  • @GoldenRaeGirl But you are, a glorious, magnificent speck. You're the result of 3.5 billion years of successful reproduction. But the speck that is you, the bits of which you are made, have an even richer history. You are the direct result of a slight inequality between the particles of matter and antimatter, 14 billion years ago during the formation of the universe.

Be that speck. That glorious, fantastic, beautiful speck. Because that's what science says we are.

  • @docbone1115 Well when you put it that way....it's not so bad.Hooray for specks lol.

  • It's a video about the glory of science, HURR DURR LET'S TALK ABOUT RELIGION INSTEAD!

Shut up and enjoy the video.

  • @SirToshley Well the antithesis of any topic is bound to rear its head; regardless of how ugly it is.

  • Does anybody else wish so much that the great scientists of the past few centuries could see the progress we have made today?

They lived in a time ruled by religious superstition and could only dream of a world where science was mainstream.

I can imagine taking newton by the shoulder, pointing at the moon, and telling him that man had landed there and walked around.

    Just imagine....

  • @needicecream100 and many years in the future..another person like you would say the same about wanting to take Carl Sagan by the shoulder and pointing at another planet saying the same.. =)

  • Science is infinitely more beautiful than religion.

  • BILL NYAN

  • I saw bill talk at UVU!

  • feelin like john lennon right about now

  • any stupid religious posting are getting these videos as responses

  • I wonder how much different the world would be if everybody watched this just before getting up in the morning.

  • @needicecream100 indeed, as then perhaps the good moods people would be in from this master piece may yet cause them to be nicer to people for the whole day, thus making the world just that much happier.

  • @needicecream100 i listen to it as i am falling asleep. its truly an inspiring video

  • @needicecream100 it would be a really messed up world... how can you watch something before you get up? you'd have to get up first to watch it.

  • @dagarath

    clearly needicecream didn't mean that

  • I so love carl sagan!

  • Bill NYAN

  • Very nice

  • brilliant video. with SOPA this wouldn't be possible.

  • New SOS video out! "The Greatest Show On Earth!"

  • beautiful

  • This song is amazing.

  • Neil DeGrasse Tyson!

  • Richard Feynman!

  • Carl Sagan!

  • BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY!

  • Thank god, it has never been harder to prove his existence ;). Let's just hope that one day all churches will have become museums where we'll be laughing at our past irrationality.

  • btw all the dislikes came from the christian neanderthals who still cling to a false notion based on ancient texts and writings, then transformed to help the powers in control keep us segrated by race, creed, religion, space, and distance. We must use science to not only prove beyond doubt how our universe works. But also to help bring together all human life to achieve one great goal as a whole. ONE GOAL AS A WHOLE.................................................

  • I love this video. The music is as amazing as the vast complexity of our universe.

  • Wow.

  • I like the beat but thats about all I got out of this video.

  • maaan i love this song <333

  • This is why Space exist!

  • This is phenomenal.....I loved the series " Cosmos " when it aired on PBS. I think Carl Sagan really awoke my love of physics with that and his book of the same name. It doesn't matter that I choose to be a Christian , I respect others rights to believe as they wish & would appreciate the same, All the hating and name-calling is not what we need to focus on. As Rodney King said ,

" Can't we all get along?" ( I think he said it..)

  • Bill Nye and that guy from the 70's were the best voices! :D

  • All these people in this video who are dead rejected the Lord Jesus Christ, but realize He is Lord now; and all these people in this video who are alive are present rejectors of Jesus Christ, but will realize He is Lord later.

  • @stlukeykw How are you to know that? How do you know that information? I'm not shunning your beliefs, I'm not supporting them however. I'm agnostic. I'm just wondering how you could possibly know that.

  • @stlukeykw well, i doubt that, as my psychoanalysis shows that part of the reason as to why they care to beleive and/or even acknowledge at least a possibility is simply because they don't want to. i mean, that's alright in itself of course, as that is thier decision, it's just that even if they were to mr.christ in person himself (the actual one) they'd just assume it was a fraud using parlour tricks to mess with people, as they'd figure that to be the only possible option.

  • I listen to this video several times a week. I of the science auto tuned videos, this one is by far my favorite. I do videos on my channel, but they are nothing compared to this.

  • @JasonLovesLife i second that notion.

  • My dad looks just like Neil DeGrasse Tyson lol. Oh, and by the way, a video that has Bill Nye, Richard Feynman, AND Carl Sagan on the same video is AWESOME!! Bill Nye is The Man!!

  • We are a way the universe can know itself...enough to ponder there for a lifetime. The video is beautifully done.

  • B-E-A-UTIFUL!

  • Sweet

  • The universe explained in roughly four mInutes :)

  • Sagan went in on the hook. and you know Bill Nye did his thing. Amazing

  • Always get goosebumps when Richard starts playing the drums :)

Its like the beauty of all the words spoken before him is too much, and he has to just release :)

  • Science meets spirituality.. you CAN feel spiritual with secular science!!!!!! Thumbs up this in support of secular spirituality

  • Lets not make the Comments religious battle grounds, lets just listen and learn.

  • Bill NYE is the man!

  • awesome! absolutely love it :D

  • What a very wonderful video.

  • und auch für Dich ° ♥ °

  • I feel like when I watch this video, everybody in it is immersed in what they speak, but Feynman seems like he's attained god-like status in terms of how much he enjoys it

  • Exellent

  • Dude.. just by turning a couple friends on to this video I may have changed their lives for the better (they got VERY into it ... and GOT it) so I can only imagine how many lives you touch with these videos. Bravo sir!!

  • Surely you're joking Mr. Feynman! If you were the world's smartest man, then God, help us. Yes, Bill, of course there are BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF STARS, but you could never be as good as Carl Sagan, science guy!!! Neil deGrasse Tyson, stating that we are all connected to the universe, including the Pluto Files.

  • Stop with the stupid drug references.. Its past old and stale.

  • This is a very good video and I enjoyed it a lot...

  • How do I get this on iTunes? Please helpppp I love this song, I masturbate to it daily!!!!!!

  • @weefeatures

Download the MP3 from the website of Symphony of Science :)

  • @keesengels thanks mate!

  • This video tripped me the fuck out on my first acid trip

  • @ukelayzgeeh You must be cool. Please, enlighten us

  • BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY *breakdances poorly*

  • Did this video make 473 people feel insignificant? I don't think they tried to convey that message with this video.
