he zack i have a doberman puppy 9 weeks old who just wont stop defacating in my house, i take him outside for 15 minutes every hour is there another way
@whitey211 well, it's kind of the problem.. yeah, a GPS IS something really good, but if you rely too much on this, one day, you may not be able to use one and you will have a lot of problem there.
Silos is right, Dude. The tubes are elevators to move the corn. It's kind of like a giant water slide, without the water,...or the chance of living through it
After watching several videos, I finally found one where ZAK is being funny! YAY! I knew he was funny. I definitely need to get a GPS, I always get lost.
I love going anywhere here in Iceland, kind of a road trip I guess...just not as long as yours hehe I can drive all around Iceland over one day..but you don't stop much so that ain't no fun.
You do realize that TOLLS are tax deductible when traveling for business purposes...ask for a RECEIPT at the TOLL BOOTH next time...they add up over the year and will buy more discs and treats for the dogs...just a thought. Also, be careful of GPS systems especially in urban areas. Apparently criminals in large urban areas have figured out the common routes that take tourists/travelers through bad parts of town and set up traps.
yep that's a grain silo. gps is USEUALLY a good thing, we have a one, and we blew tire one day and it took us to a walmart that hadn't been built yet. and it has taken up places that no longer exist, and when i went to pick up my rescue rats it drove us through national wild life reserve, soo it's nice but can have some issues.
I just can't see the darned thing (gps that is), I use the handheld when hiking here in Ak but I'd drive off the road if I was trying to read one on my dashboard.
Wind Power is not a feasible method of powering a car, because it would require batteries to store the power. Batteries are impractical, because for every 1 lb of gasoline you carry, you need 50 lbs of batteries! Eventually, we will probably get to the point where we can process water into hydrogen for hydrogen fuel cell cars (which are basically a glorified battery) which are very low impact on the environment.
Nothing is ever no impact. The car itself will still take a lot of resources to manufacture, battery cars (i.e hyrdrogen) There will be a fair amount of emissions just creating the car. Even creating the Hydrogen to power the car requires energy. As of yet, most places are reliant on hydrocarbons to power hydrogen plants. Unless you live off the grid and manufacture your own hydrogen using wind and solar power, your h2 car will still have a large impact on the environment.
A good gps is well worth the money for anyone, and those towers (you are correct) are called grain silo's. I've done a bit of rescue training in them on the fire department. Wish I would have checked this earlier, I live in Michigan and my girl friend is from WI and has family there, we would have come to check out the show. Nice blog, thanks and keep em comin.
I use maps. You know, they make maps for everyplace! :-) Now with online maps they're reasonably up-to-date, and you can even print directions for specific street addresses. I have a Garmin Trex, but I only use it for lat/long coordinates... it doesn't even have maps.
LOL Parogie sounds like Perogie. You bet you're a hunny Zak. I thought you said steak for stay LOL. Yay! I would play frisbee. Processing corn in huge barrels? Nah it's more likely grain storage. I love GPS and that farm barrel question is more male related. I have one parent who likes to use the sick maps.
That's right, corn, chicken feed, or other grain products. Also wood chips for Fiber boards. I also own a GPS, and they come in handy if you program them with the right states and stuff. Good luck at the event, wish i was there!
if you actually think you know where you should go, follow your own directions, gps has made me late plenty of times, the book, if close to date is still better!! you can choose alternatives. looks like fun anyway!!!
I have a "Tom Tom" GPS Unit. It has not been that great. It will find all the great restaurants. However, the last time I was to go to the zoo it took me a totally different way.
Did you see America's Got Talent last night? They had a man with his dog and he did dog trick like you do, but he was far worst. However he made it to the finals!
the silver storage units (silo) might be for holding things for the crops, water or storage units related to the wind farm? i...dont know lol :D wisconsin...keep out! lol :)
zac, would you ba able to do a vid on how to teach your dog to take a bow? lol, as my dog already says please, he should be able to have the manners to say thanks too!
Don´t complain on your gasprice, 1 gallon costs ~$4. In Sweden 1 gallon cost ~$8.30 and thats crazy.. I think we have the highest taxes on gas in the world.
We had three 'silos' on our farm. The grain (corn in the Nebraska cornbelt) goes into the top of the silo via an auger (now there's another word for you vocabulary!). There is a 'door' at the bottom also. When ours were empty, we liked to go in and play in them. Yeah, we were not suppose to be inside the silos! LOL! The whole picture there is called a grain elevator.
You are probably passing by my sister's home in Illinois. The sometimes drive to Wisconsin for a great fish dinner.
hey Zak, are you going to be on the show America's Greatest Dog?? There are tons of people that are going to be on there with their dogs doing talent shows and showcasing their dogs. When I saw it, I thought of you.
GPS units can be very handy (if you so choose to use one) and, in the future, (way into probably) they will be quite useful in navigating around traffic snarls and tie-ups.
I used a GPS system while in C.A.P. when doing ELT searches. The system used to report my (real-time)location to other units involved in the search. It's called APRS and is still in use today by emergency response folks and communicators like amateur radio operators.
My dad has got a new car and it came with sat nav as standard. We go on holiday alot and it really helps to find places to eat and places to fill up the car and the parks are good to find a place to let the dog for a quick run
Those are grain elevators...not necessarily just for Corn. Basically trucks come in, dump their grain at the base, and then a large auger is used to take it to the top where it gets put into the respective bins.
yes i'll try to make it out to riverfest. i would love to see your dogs perform. as for a GPS i have had 3 and they are so useful. in recent years they have improved. i remember our first one giving us long detours or telling us that its somewhere where it really isn't. it got close but it wasn't exactly right.
We just bought a second gps! One for the car and a handheld for Geocaching. Love them, don't know how I survived without one. As for gas, check out the HHO convertors they have available now, run your van on water! sortof.... Beer, yes you need better taste in beer, try OBI-1, a great organic beer, no pesticides that give you hangovers.
Zak - great vid! I dont have a GPS, and I'm sure I wouldn't get as lost as I do on road trips. Can't have a road trip with out getting lost and laughing the whole time! and Why is wesley riding in the back of the van? that cracked me up!! lol
Those are are called Grain Bins and they are loaded by the track you see up above them called a grain elevator.
These are technically silos but around here silo used for larger free standing structures that house silage. Silage is a mixture of feed corn, feed grass sorghums, clover whatever for feed over winter. Due to fermentation it can last several years and be good feed.
Just ask us Indiana folk. BTW you should introduce your dogs to sheep. They would love you for it!

They're called grain elevators. The pipes have augers in them that pull the grain up out of the trucks and drop it all down into the elevators.
