  • songs of peace and love ,come from all directions a

    nd beliefs,one love---peace

  • songs of peace and love ,come from all directions and beliefs, one love---peace

  • peace on earth, what a concept!... one day Jews, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, and we agnostics will have a choice, whether to continues our petty differences or coexist.. I vote for peace and harmony.. who is with me??

  • putaragis ang galing.. pota!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good stuff here!

  • This is my all time favorite matisyahu song, the lyrics are so deep and powerfull, he's got a great message in his music, hopefully more people start listening to him :]

  • fyfan vad bra! :pPpPpPp älskar matisyahu!!!!

    <3 qwalli

  • fyfan vad bra! :pPpPpPp puzz

  • I discovered Matisyahu after I became Muslim. His music just gripped me!

  • the silhouette at :40 looks like a camel lmao.

    good music.

  • people need to look past the fact that he is hisidic..im conservative and i like him for his music not his message...he sings about israel and ashem because as a hassid thats what's he used to..he sings great music

  • ismael is the son of abraham the father of muslims & issac the father if hebrews and christians, god sprang water in the dessert so ismael my live and become a great nation too. faro let my people go ,u forgot to love without it u cannot see him

  • yes faro let my people go or i will sent plages in the world . love is the only answer to this life we live.which u forgot

  • i love this song sang by a brother in israel

  • This music is religious and if you deny that you are foolish. Im a hassid and honestly all we ever think about is god and thats what this song is about. God will lead us water and feed our souls.

  • @yakeo653 Amen brother...im a gentile but i am fully dedicated to Hashem n i love am yisrael! i made a tzitzit for myself to remind me of Hashem n i keep shabbat. by the way shabbat shalom freind. and yes all jews ever think about is the father and his mercy and compassion i completely agree with this n i completely agree that Matithyahus message is all about G-d....Halleluyah!

  • @yomamasofat87 Amen, Shout to our hebrew brother!!!!!

  • @kaleb27100 well hes not exactly hebrew lol jewish brother i supose...he sings wisdom and joy of torah tho i have great admiration for someone like that

  • one cool jewish brother that sing reggea music, i hope you sing for the freedom of my people in palistian.

  • He sings for the freedom of all people! and Also the struggle and resiliance of your people! his messages are one of hope, inspiration, and love. I'm not jewish, I'm christian, and i love his music cause it's from the heart, and by the heart, we will all be judged (i pray) God Bless!

  • @staceyloveme1

    dude,

we Jewish ppl are not oppressors.

we know what oppression is all about , since we have been fighting for our freedom for over the last 2000 years.

  • ArBiTeR0000Tactical, I like how you put that

  • di-bi-di-di-bi-di-di-bi-duy-duy-dibi-duy-duy

  • Sorry who is it that has no water?

  • This song is talking about how if you don't have God in your life, it is like you not having water in your diet.

The human body would die from thirst without water, our souls die if we don't have God.

God is like water in essence, he is the living spirit within us that is good and all encompassing positive energy.

To me to find God, honestly, look for the smallest details in life, like for me that would be simple as the sun hitting the trees listening to wind on a spring afternoon. Peace.

  • @ArBiTeR0000Tactical

    "...Torah"

  • @seller559

    rhibidibidi du

  • EXACTLY!...I totally agree with you on that.

  • Nice! dead on! for me, it's the light of my day, able to get day to day with a smile, smiles on peoples faces, etc. God bless!

  • i agree my sista,

  • It's a metaphor, it's right no matter how you interpret it, but it's more about the situation of 'Got No Water' Arbiter0000Tactical describes it better

  • The Bob Marley, a True Student, Lions Cub.

  • PEACE AND LOVE

  • lov u Matisyahu

  • That is the problem with bigots, religious, fanaticals wherever they come from, they do not separate ART from race, culture or social rank. Matisyahu is a great Reggae Singer and the lyrics are just fine for anyone who believes in ONE GOD. That's it!

  • Ya your simple minded you have to see the big picture. Music is music. Culture and race doesnt matter cause music will always be music

  • BH" Matisyahu! looking forward to your Toronto GIG November 30th...

  • I'm Muslim and even I think Matisyahu is cool. I was listening to him before I converted and I still blast his tunes in my car. I got nothing for respect for him.

  • u mean nothing but respect? haha

  • Right! I was so busy singing the lyrics that I forgot what I was typing!

  • @plenty2say he respects people like you also. Religion should only be about peace, love, respect, happiness.... there is good and bad within all religions. Peace to you and peace to the middle east. There is a solution and it involves mutual peace and respect.

  • @plenty2say sababa! baruch allah :D

  • @plenty2say you are a fucking champion.

  • Converso con mi corazón de noche; *

medito, y escudriño mi espíritu. Salmos 77:7

  • i LOVE it ! matishyahu my hero !

  • who gives a shit about his religion hes a great artist with soul...thats all the matters

  • Thank you Matisyuha for this wonderful music.

  • If everyone thought like Matsyahu I think the world as we know t would actually be a nice place to live wthout having to worry about watching our backs 24-7

  • You're right. It's the money out there ruining these decent ideals that most of the different peoples share. It's money ruining this place...Money and pride are what the devil wants us to hold close. I say bullshit and fuck you satan! Shove your money up your ass

  • This music rocks, how bout we focus on that instead of making this into some sorta religious debate?

Matis sings about bringing peace to the world, don't hate on people who don't believe in religion, we like this stuff just as much as you.

  • Thats what im saying =] ive said it on other matisyahu videos and any vid where people go on about what they think rather then focusing on what they looked up to see and hear.

  • seriously, i agree, this just proves the mentality of our nation, these people prove ignorance and stupidity is running out of control. Just like it or don't. not everything has to be this big "issue " people acting like they really know what the hell they are talking about. People should igknowledge differences in people and just learn about it, not use it as a tool of hate. people are stupid.

    sweet song though

    first album called" arise"

original version of king without crown is real dope

  • @djcambomb agreed who gives a shit hes a jew

  • Comment removed

  • ya atheists are becoming worse than any religio ya aggressively promote ya beliefs and act extremely violent and aggressive bout it ya all hypocrites

  • agree with cb44ever

ever talk to an athiest about anything religious and it becomes a fight about how we're stupid and how they're right... i'd respect athiests more if they weren't so assertive about their "beliefs"

  • Fuck off

  • do you understand why this makes you so uncomfortable?

their ignorance is a reflection of your own ignorance, you're the same as the ignorant atheist, and they are the same as you!

    funny how that works, eh?

btw fuck off and die, learn to fucking spell!

who the fuck taught you english??

  • funny how that makes no sense whatsoever let me guess heaven and hell are justtoo ridiculous for ya well most religions dont believe in it so waiting for the otherreasons when someone tells ya ghandi will not be in paradise cause hes hindu thats ridiculous as a jewish man with nuddin but goyim friends i refuse to believe my friends wont be there for meshiach also we believe if ya do something good for the world ya will rejoice even atheists if they are good people it dont matter what they think

  • Matis...beautiful. I love this song!!

I play matis at high volume in my car with heavy bass. People dance at the traffic lights and gives the thumbs up.

    Love the conscious vibes

    Shalom

  • i enjoyed the discussion about the text very much as a catholic christ.

i have long lost connection to church and all these pointless institutions. whoever said "It's not about religion, it's about the relationship between god and men" was absolutely right.

we shouldn't cling to texts who could be wrong or true. everyone should follow their own beliefs because in the end GOD will decide who did ok and who didn't. what- or whoever god might be.

  • as a jew I can never tell someone that waht they believe in is wrong so in turn I believe =that meshiach comes with revelation of g-d and ...also...... many names for one god ..Matisyahu : dispatch the troops

  • me atrevo a dizer, gabriel se tu é pensador, esse cara tmbm, pensa como tu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! muito bommmmmm....

  • Nuff Respekt Matis !!!

  • this guy is great....

  • Kudos for a great song. A Thumbs Down for every post trying to disparage Hashem's holy Word.

This ain't debate club, folks. Trolling songs you don't like is bad enough, but with religious music? Do they actually think they're going to accomplish something in so doing?

  • he sings like he is a prophet

  • i hope to see him one day live in a concert.

  • Google videos:

    Zeitgeist Refuted

    Then have fun! :D

  • Shut up. Listen the good music.

  • Jewish, Christians, Muslims... Stop being so fanatic people, and enjoy the great music. Hatred leads to hatred, don't you see that?

  • i am not here to make fun of other peoples belief i am here to ask u to stop making fun of my belief

  • Jewish?

  • yep its rabinomoshe im jewish this is from got no water by matisyahu sorry it

    took so long

  • "What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?"

    2 Corinthians 6:15

see? Christ and the devil cannot NOT exist in one person!

You either have GOD as your Father, or you have the other. A believer is the child of God and a non-believer is NOT.

yo, with love, please reconsider what you're saying.

  • man what the fuck.. FUCK OFF... why keeping on this discuss about religion? You guys are so stupid to get in a jew song and write about christ..what for? FIGHT? Learn to believe in yours..and let us believe in ours... HASHEM ECHAD...

  • The bible is guidlines to live a pure life. We know nothing till we die and we gain nothing trying to figure out what were not suppose to know yet.

  • Remember, it's just us. Until the color of a man's skin is no more significant than the color of his eyes, there will be war. Bob was right.... Matis is just shouting his love and peace out loud so everyone can hear. Energy spreads farther than you think.

  • 8==D ( { )

  • MATISYAHU la raja, subtitulen este tema x q aca en sudamerica no caxo q dice, pero me encanta la cancion es muy parecido al BOB MARLEY esa es la magia de la musica x ultimo "no te mueras nunca MATIS"

  • Sacias mi alma sedienta y llenas mi apetito.

  • Shma Y'sroel, Hashem Elokainu, Hashem Echad

    --. Eso dice la cancion =). --

  • im an american but love this song the only song i like by him

  • THE BEST STAR

  • this song always! lifts me up i listen to it atleast 4 or 5 times a day. i love to play it on vinyl when im djing

  • matisyahu vicia!!!!

  • This song calms me.

    I don't know why.

  • dude, i dont believe in god, but ever since i was 10 matisyahu has gived into my head the messagev to be true to yourself, to respect others, that's what i believe in, everyone can hear matiyahu's music either if you are muslim, jewish or christian...

  • I am a semite.. however not jewish (have some jewish blood but not much).. but I still love his words regardless. forget about the arab jewish relations now.. I love his music and I love God.. praise be to him.. thank God for his message..

  • People stop focusing on his identity, background, beliefs, or looks.

    Focus on his MESSAGE.

That's all that should matter to you.

  • look i also really love smoking weed but even more important then herb is my love for Judaism i am a observant jew and this music inspires me this music and weed together build many roads of happiness regarding being high. but being hi is for only like a few hours. religion is a part of life. weed is a habit. so im saying u can balance thins in life and still smoke herb, and still hold on to ur faith. but if its not ur thing than DONT smoke it.

  • blesseeeeeed

  • i love this song!

  • I quited smoking weed with help from Matisyahu's songs...

Impossible to praise God while being wasted from drugs.

  • really I love smoking weed to his music, but i do understand what u mean. His music had the energy to get me to quit ecstacy, and painkillers.

  • This is one of my favorite songs of his

  • my matisyahu story....well there is no story. he was on tour with 311 but only started with the tour a day after the tour was in my town. let down for sure. i think he will be around for a long while and im sure i will get my chance. every day i pray and hope

  • Love the Shemah bit

  • one of favorite songs by Matisyahu

  • Was great and that got really, really boring.

  • I saw him in Cinci in 2005 and he blew me away. Then for some strange reason the last couple of years his music got to be boring and not so inventive. I guess a better word is he got weak on us. Commercial success seems to ruin creativity.

  • so true, dong

    but i still enjoy it

  • I enjoy it, that is why I am here at the old stuff. I saw him in CInci and he was great. The whole band just brought the house down. This was 2005.

Then the new stuff came out and it was a huge let down. Thanks for the reply.

    Peace.

  • Just great!!!

  • Why? All he does in his songs is give thanks and praises to Hashem. Not saying it's a bad thing, just truly curious. There's tons of modern reggae out there.

  • jews get down with irie riddims....one love connection ras...

  • How odd, for someone listening to Matisyahu to say they aren't interested in hearing about religion. What is his appeal, then?

  • i have no interest in religion, but i love matisyahu's music

  • look im jewish by birth but i am an atheist. the message is what counts i love his music. it doesent matter his religion or anybuddy's religion all that matters is teh messege. =)

    Cheers

  • No offense, but that doesn't make any sense orpuz..

I agree that the message is what counts, but if you were right, and there were no G-d, then Matisyahu's message is lies.

What's sad is there is perhaps no more prevalent or true Jewish stereotype than the Jew that turns his back on his heritage, be it by turning on political Israel, changing their name, or simply adopting the ways of the stranger(i.e. ceasing to be a religious Jew).

Baruch Atah/At anyway, and may Hashem show you His truth.

  • His messege is not onlyabout religion it's about respect one another and unity. But look it doesent bother me that religion exist i just dont bealive in it =). Just look at my dad he's religeous but he never really forced the religion on me cause he want's me to take my own path =)

    Cheers

  • Aha.. I see your point. Yes, that's all true, but then again, it seems to me if you believe in respecting one another, and living in unity and harmony, then you HAVE maintained SOME of your Jewishness, right? ;)

That's what I've always loved about Judaism. Lies must shout to be heard, for being believed is their power. The truth doesn't care if you believe it or not, because it will be just as true regardless.

Hence, proselytizing is not normally a productive venture.

    Shalom, achi!

  • maybe so. but i do believe in traditions =)

    Cheers brother

  • The thing is those are just universal ideas of one way to make the world a better place, not one idea that spawned only from Judaism. I like religions for those ideas they teach, I do not like religions for the fear of god they teach. He is working with us always and is something we should be grateful for, not something we should fear in order to control our lives and behave properly. We should have enough of him in us to want to act out in christ like ways at all times.

  • Yes, many of Judaism's great ideas originate with Tanakh.

I.e. Can you find an older civilization on record as requiring literacy of man, woman, and child? (Deu 6).

What is this "Christ"? There is no "Christ" in the Hebrew scriptures, only "Messiah." And if you mean Yeshua (who is called "Jesus"), he lived a perfect life of Torah observance. Those very rules you say "control" us, in reality sets free those who see the truth.

As for "fear" that is an unfortunate translation. "Awe" is better.

  • direct quote from jewish man above:

Ha-Shem means "The Name". Jews don't say "God" because they feel it's too holy to speak of. So, they use "The Name". That's why he says it.

that sure sounds like fear to me...in the end God is just 3 letters arranged together that put a limiting and physical form on something that should remain ethereal and infinite.

  • Yes, we do say HaShem, and if we say "G-d" it is without the O.

Yet, it would be over-simplification to call this fear.

Any organizational structure, from a family, to a large company, to the earthly embassy of G-d's people can work on twin fronts of fear and respect. Respect is always preferable, yet there are some without respect, and these work better on fear.

In short, fear is for the young and the convert, who have not developed the respect and trust for G-d to operate another way.

  • it was over simplification, and for that i appologize.

But, in the end you should follow god out of much more than respect. you should follow him out of love, out of care for your world and all living things, for he is all that you see.

What i see happening in major western religions is their expression of fear in god and his ability to smite us for whatever wrong we do, which is far from the opposite of his teachings in which he states he loves all, even with their faults.

  • Technically I could then go back even further and show that many of these same ideas are based off egyptian beliefs, but in the end that doesn't matter.

I might not be able to find an older civilization that is literate, but literacy does not equate to a better society. I believe much of the world is literate now than in the beginning of judaism yet we are much worse off in my opinion.

lastly, i'm using christ like as a term, not as a person. Just referring to those who exemplify kindness etc

  • Of course, one would be foolish to think they can live as they will without fear of consequence from the creator of the universe. He created the world with a word, and your life or death, your livelihood, your eternity are all subject to His whim.

Nonetheless, greater rewards exist for those willing to follow HaShem out of respect (Deu 30).

It doesn't matter how you use Christ. Anything positive you can say of him, you can say of the Torah, for this is where he learned TO exemplify kindness.

  • I have no fear of consequence...my real world actions have real world consequences, if you can't live up to that reality than you are fearful of all of life.

I am fearful that the collective thoughts of all humanity will bring about an end to our world, but not god himself. It will be our thoughts/actions that fuel the destruction of this planet.

I feel he learned to exemplify those from earlier pagan beliefs that were then translated into the torah, but to each his own.

  • One of the primary differences between Judaism and Christianity is how we look at justice. Christians expect reward and punishment to come after death. Torah students know better (Deu 30).

The G-d of Israel is both a G-d of Justice AND Mercy.

Yes, He loves all (and thus we should, as His children- Mal 2:10). Be that as it may, sin may not dwell with G-d. Indeed, to this day the word "sin" in Spanish means "without" and a "sin" is any action separating us from Him.
