Actually, the spin dash does have a few niche uses. You can still pull off the spin jump -- during the Gun Fortress hero mission, you can use it to evade a few GUN enemies that you would otherwise be forced to destroy to proceed.

Why did everyone hate Sonic Heroes? It was my first 3d Sonic Game... and I beat it and thought of it as a pretty good game. Sure, there were some spots where it was near impossible.. but it was still a pretty well made game (Compared to Sonic 2006 for the 360...)

Heroes had too many characters, a tiresome three-characters-at-once gimmick, an uninspired level design.

Add to that an elaborate furry story no one cares about, and there you go.

SEGA doesn't seem to understand that all we want is a spiritual successor to S3K - we don't want Shadow and his "gangsta" gameplay, we don't want Silver, and we don't want werewolves.
