  • My dad worked for GM at that time, and there was a big write-up in a monthly magazine Chevy put out called "Friends" about the commercials.  64-66 brought some VERY spectacular commercials from Chevy.

  • That's funny...an olds with a "rocket" engine. Isn't that what they took to the moon? An oldsmobile?

  • @donbot1000 The Oldsmobile Rocket 88 V8 engine-- inspired the first rock n roll song, "Rocket 88", by Jackie Benson -- recorded by Ike Turner -- at a time when American cars were defining the culture and very cool. Rockets were the future and GM's cars were riding that wave.
