Is that Clarence Clemons tapping on the tambourine? Bruce erase this and similar. Why linger on our mistakes? We both know how important he was in projecting ur godamn phenomenal songs
Still think this is from the soundcheck along with born to run and prove it all night. U never see the crowd. I think audience noise has been dubbed in.
@tim3bandit57 I agree with all but one word. "Were" should be "are". Even though the band will never be the same without the irreplaceable "Phantom" Dan and "Big Man", I know for certain they E Street band will reconvene and put on one more legendary tour in memory of their late bandmates and friends (RIP). As long as Bruce is still kicking, the band will put on a great show. These guys were, are, and will always be, awesome.
@jennifersman Hate to rub it young guy (or am I) I was in row 4 at this show in Phoenix. One of the greatest show ever. I feel sorry for this generation of music lovers, because the music is all watered down.
In '78 I went to my first Springsteen show. We drove to Evanston, he played for well over three hours, and when we left we were in awe. We drove home listening to Bruce - LSD was covered in ice, on the "S" curve cars were sliding into walls, sparks were flying, and we could have cared less. I went to that show already a fan, but left there as a disciple - ready to go out and preach the gospel according to Bruce. I'd seen a lot of bands prior to, and since that show, and nobody does it better.
To me this song is the centerpiece of Darkness, and maybe even his body of work. A clear exhibit of the performance of his emotional connection to Badlands.

I must have favorited half a dozen versions of this song, only to find one that's more perfect. This one tops 'em all.
