@jkruse2007 is this made entirely of nxt pieces? is the power from the nxt brick as powerful as the standard battery box? can you use pf with the brick?
@SouthWalesStar01 no, the treads are from some Lego Space rover kit ($20 or so), but the rest is entirely NXT. The brick powers the motors, which are standard NXT motors.
i wanted to do this but where (without opening the cantroller) can i hook it up to the thing to be controlled what is the pinout of the top connector by the sync button? can i use data from that plug to controll?
XBox Controller -> USB wireless PC connector (comes with XBox for Windows Controller) // USB -> Roborealm software // Roborealm VB script to connect inputs with actuators (servos) // Roborealm software output -> Bluetooth PC stick // Bluetooth PC -> Bluetooth receiver on Lego Brick
- xbox controller plus Windows XBox USB interface sold as "XBox controller for Windows"
- hook up the Xbox controller to a Windows PC
- install RoboRealm, which I used for convenience (free), but has nice hooks for NXT, joysticks (xbox for windows controller) and things like servos, cameras etc. RoboRealm has a VB scripting interface as well.
@ghostalin no, I don't think so. The protocol between the controller and the receiver (both XBox Microsoft devices) have their own standard and is not bluetooth. thanks Microsoft.... that's why you need the special "XBox controller for windows" which is essentially the controller plus their own special receiver with usb plug... the controller doesn't work with my other bluetooth dongles either...
it's real and the controller was on. Simple control with RoboRealm, XBox Controller for Windows and Lego NXT Bluetooth. Try it yourself, before making unqualified comments.
how to conect?

- write VB script tolinks the joystick to the motor output of the NXT.
- hook up the NXT via Bluetooth to Windows.
- hook up the NXT Bluetooth to Roborealm
- have fun and drive your NXT with the Wireless controller.

@jkruse2007 Any way for direct bluetooth communication between the brick and the controller? I can't afford a dongle
