I got this same one, love it. Don't get it off ebay and get standard shipping, mine came with both of the thumb controls snapped off. Just a quick tip for other owners of this, if you notice the flight time isn't good enough, it's because this has a 3.7 180 maH battery. You can pick a 3.7 250 maH for $14 from your local hobby shop, doubles flight time when you also cut the wires going to the flashing LED in the front. That stupid LED just wastes battery life! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH­AHAHAH

only on really really calm days with absolutely no wind. it's too light and small and the motors are not really strong and the slightest gust will lift it up and carry it away.

Absolute piece of junk. I bought three seperate original authentic choppers. All three crashed and then wouldn't fly. The balance bar would chop down into the propellers and the thing would swerve left and right, before crashing. All three. All on seperate occasions. All minor accidents indoors. All pieces of shit.

I flew mine for 5 mimutes, and it fell through a gap between desks, and messed the balance bar up. The bar touched the blades, and completely destroyed them. back to eBay!

I also have the red one and its doing the same thing. I now have the yellow one but it seems different. Its wired backwards. The wall charger doesnt work. It makes the blades spin backwards when you hook it up. The yellow one flys great. It even has a longer battery life. About 8-9 min. Charges in about 30 min. Iwas flying the red one and it just fell from the sky. Now the bottom rotor doesnt spin. Bummer.

its a possiblity that the red wire got cut from one of its crashes it happen to me, you have to buy a new motor to replace the damaged one and put tape over it

I have one of these mine is red. I am haveing trouble getting it to fly right and now the bottom blades wont move when i start it. any sugestions?

@1977mandyo can you check if the motors are still spinning? if so, maybe the pinion gear has cracked hence the bottom blades are not spinning - or maybe the soldering to the motor has come off?

Got mine in the mail today. Yee Haw. This thing is really nice. If you want a low cost easy to fly heli then this is it. I paid $19.95 plus S.H. I even took mine outside. No wind today. Too much fun. Love it.

Not sure how long mine flies for.. but i used to just fly it for 6 minutes before recharging. charging takes aorund 30mins from the tx...

but i have not used this for a long time now...

if you're still flying yours, make sure you only fly less than what the book states. you don't want to be killing the lipo battery too soon.

@509g1 haha - i wish! the battery on the syma is a lipo and unfortunately, they require more care. with nicads/nimh, even if you fully discharge them, they will just bounce back to charging status.

with lipos, if you fully discharge them, more often than not, it kills them. standard practice with lipo is to fly them before the LVC (Low Voltage Cutoff) kicks in. but who knows if this heli has LVC built in. my cousin's 2 symas are both dead probably from too much discharging.

@pofrani im really confused lol, i aint so advanced with what u just said, how do u mean by discharge them, all i know is, to charge them for 50mins and take out the wire straight away lol, then fly for 8mins, when the helicopter cant get any height and the propella stops then i charge again until the red lights on the usb. what have i missed out here to ur reply lol :D

@509g1 LOL - sorry. discharging is just another way of saying use it up. so if you're flying it, it's discharging it. You should just time your flights to around 6 mins. That should give you about 80% usage and you're leaving 20% charge on the battery and not depleting it. i might be going overboard with this little toy but mine is still flying when the others do not even charge anymore.

all lipos SHOULD have a circuit board on them to prevent over charging.. so in theory, once it's full, it should stop charging (at least that's how it is with my other big RC lipo batteries

Hi - the rear rotor only spins if you need to go forward or back. it's not positioned like a normal heli (where the tail rotor acts as a counter for the main blades' torque)

Hi, can anyone help me? I have a very similar helicopter like in this vid. At first my heli was flying really good, had a couple of crashes and still it was great, but one day i crashed into a chair and now my heli is very unstable, i mean, when i rise up i have no problems, but when i try to fly forward or turn it instantly gets out of control and crashes to the ground. Ive tried fixing it, still unstable, and i dont know what to do :/ i could film it fly if necessary. Thanks in advance :)

it could be that the gears are loose and the bottom or top blades are not spinning enough and making the heli just piroutte?

Hi, can someone help me? I have a very similar helicopter like in this vid. not sure if you can switch channels on the heli. i dont have my heli anymore (gave it to my brother who's ended up just boxing it back up again)

but you're supposed to get different channels so you can fly together. perhaps other people on here might know if its possible to change the channel.

1. Set the two remotes on different channels.

2. Step into separate rooms, close the door.

3. Turn on your helicopters.

They will now each bind to the channel selected on the respective remotes, and you can fly them next to each other :)

@Maazersmiit Try Putting the Heli on the floor, then turn it on, after, turn the Remote on, then push the throttle fully and release it again. Normally works for me. If it still doesnt connect, turn the heli and remote off, the turn the heli back on and leave it for a while, The Red Light should stop blinking fast or slow its pase, then try turning the remote and push the throttle fully up then release it, Then it should work.

@wingsticks It's the channel selector. There are only two settings though, but that allows you to fly two helo's simultanously. I wrote a description as to how further up.

This is the first time that I ever flew. I got the yellow one today seller Xheli on Amazon $27.39 shipping included. Had a hard time with the throttle. So I took the throttle return spring off on the controller. having alot fun now. It's much easier to fly, me being a rookie :-)

i guess you do whatever makes it easy for you to fly. a lot of people keep the spring because in case you hit something hard, you can easily let go and throttle will reset to 0

make sure you dont fly it till the battery dies. not good for your lipo battery. as soon as you feel the heli get sluggish, let it cool down and charge the batteries.

@pofrani You don't have to worry about the battery. The helo cuts off power before the battery is discharged too much, I measured the voltage when it dies, and it's all good.

hey thanks. i think you are right. i had my hobbyzone superclub lp yesterday and i knew i had a charged battery from about a year ago so i ran it whilst holding it upright on full throttle and timed it until the LVC kicked in. timer showed me 9.59.4 and voltage showed 3.67 per cell. i can't remember exactly tho so might have to retest.

He was 3yrs old (he just turned 4 now) and no, he was not naked. he was wearing underwear. It was very hot that day (july 4th).

He was playing IronMan on the PS3 - He got crazy about ironman so he had all the toys and games.

Not sure about violent but the game IS rated 12 I think. He just likes running around and flying as Ironman in that game.

yes - this is just really for messing about. any 3 channel contra blades are mainly for kids as it doesn't really teach you cyclic control.

look into a lama v4 or anything with 4 channel. they will teach you the basics of cyclic heli control.

@TheVideowave a lot of people would say get a coaxial 4 channel heli, but personally i would recommend not doing so. 4 channel coaxial and 4 channel fixed pitch single rotor helis are very different in terms of flight performance. If you learn how to fly a coaxial, it'll take a little bit f learning to be able to fly a single rotor well. I would recommend something like a madhawk 300 or other single rotor heli that is table and fairly easy to fly.

your grandson will like it! it's really really easy to fly and yes - the blades are the bendy ones - really tough. get it from ebay for around £18
