after playing GT1-5, and forza 1-4, i have to say for the most part i prefer forza. i grew up on the GT series as a kid, but gt5 took so long to be made, that i think it was over hyped and wasn't able to live up to what it should have been...

This is my opinion guys, I personally think that GT5 has better graphics than FM3. Forza Motorsport is an "arcade" style racing simulator, since it has more customizations, and what not. I think that GT5 had purposely limited customizations so that cars in the game won't be "overpowered" or "over-customized". Simulation-wise, GT5 wins. Fun-Wise (which all of you really like) has to go to Forza.

gran turismo was over developed in some areas and underdeveloped in many.. personally, i think the gran turismo's graphics are amazing... the sound is more realistic on forza, the dynamics are better on the forza ..the in-car telemetry in forza is addictive.. just watching the numbers bounce around as you give it the beans
Forza is a cheaper product for a lesser and cheaper system. Just talking about hardware limiting software. Period. GT5 is the best racing game, but Forza is "likeable".

both great games. But you can NEVER compare which is a better simulator in terms of physics/realism. Why??? Because FM4 doesn't support full 900 degree steering. Yeah you can turn your Fanatec wheel 900 degrees, but the game only recognizes up to 270 degrees which is a real bummer. I would play FM4 more often if they supported 900 degree steering since I'm a wheel and pedals kinda guy when it comes to racing/simulations. I love playing FM4 though for fun times

My opinion has to go with FM3. It seems to have an over all realistic game play. Especially with the steering wheel. And the surrounding graphics are amazing. Not to mention the custom design features. GT5 looks so damn gloomy and depressing. Forza 3 has sunlight.

Gran Turismo has a lot of cars, and that's the only thing I feel lacking in Forza 3. However, I can notice GT lacks damage(better physics by extension) and customization. As to the rest, they look equal.

@OrientalTech there's nothing you can do against 1080p bluray disc of ps3! +1000 cars! REAL SENSATION of driving a racing or city car! GT5 is much more fun than any other racing game! the GT mode is fabulous and the incorporation of Photo Mode is great! Add hours and hours of play!
If you want a pure ARCADE (and boring) game, play forza 3.
But if you want true and realistic simulation, you choose GT5 ;)
@Bruno17889 blueray dousnt do much and the 360 also has 1080p, out of the 1000 cars when i was playing, half of them were useless or were other versions of the cars that had vey little differ. the driving feeling in forza 2 is better than gt5. please gt5 is more arcade than anyother racing games. forza 2 and 3 are indeed better than gt5. have you seen this video, it clearly shows forza runing and looking better.

@xXomgepicXx i got both and forza shits on GT5 primarily because, damage is better, there is the option to have manual with clutch, all the cars have option to go first person regardless of being premium or standard, and now that Forza 4 is comming out in a few weeks, i doubt GT5 will beat it, because FM3 still does
Forza 3's HUD is shitty. Gran Turismo 5's Premium cars gives Forza's cars' asses handed to them. Forza's damage modeling is not even good. Reaching level 40 on GT5 gives you MUCH better damage modeling. I don't get a racing game to put faggy stickers onto my cars either. We can have twice as much cars in a map. Speaking of maps, GT5's map are transitional.
They're both great games but Forza 3 has much better car sounds. When it comes to cars, it's all about the sound of engines growling for me! I know I can never afford most of these cars irl so I want the best experience when I play the game. That's the reason that I prefer Forza3 over GT5. Still both VERY great games, if there was no Forza, GT would be number one for me.

@zackcorbiere Wtf? Your logitech statement is extremely untrue. 1) G27 isnt very good, have you even owned one? 2) Logtiech didnt make the G27 for just PC and PS3 due to Microsoft's tight certification requirements, which makes it difficult to make it cross compatible with other systems.
GT5 looks gorgeus in the premium cars. a little better than Forza. Forza SOUNDS gorgeus. much better than gt5. GT5 lets double the cars race at once online. Forza has more options for games online. GT5 has over double the cars. Forza lets you paint them yourself. GT5 has 24h real time day and night cycling if you want to use it on some tracks and a great weather system. Forza doesnt BUT if you have both consoles you NEED to own both cause they're awesome

I've been a huge fan for the GT series since the very first, but very sorry to say, Sony really drop the ball on GT4 and GT5. I didn't jump on the Forza wagon until the very lost hope was lost on GT4 and 5. Based on what I've seen, Turn 10 really did an amazing job on the game. Sony did well, but the physic was shot to hell, I really do wonder what happened!?!?!?!
In my opinion, Forza 3 wins. Better physics and tuning/upgrades (Including painting, which I've probably spent a few days on :D), and the sound is so much better. Gran Turismo 4 does have slightly better graphics, but I'm one who doesn't really care about graphics.

@hvovovivhofvhv I am a Forza Player, the graphics are not bad at all when you play the game. The colours are not perfect but the graphics are actually nice. Forza has not achieved the photo realism of the GT5 Premium cars and as long as the developers keep aiming at a 60FPS benchmark on the XBox 360 Forza won't improve too much. Honestly though I would prefer the Forza consistency over the GT standard premium nonsense, when GT fixes it's car sounds I'll be buying it =). Can't wait.
actually from what I've experienced, the only thing working inside GT5 premium cars is the speedometer, tachometer, and digital speed thingys....other things like clocks as what you've said, turbo, and other....errr...stuffs, doesn't really work....Detail's nice though :)
There are pro's and con's to both. I've played both and I have to say I like Forza better. GT5 is fun and there are more cars and you can race in different elements like rain, snow, day, night etc. But, when it comes to the controls are PS1ish. Forza controls are better more tracks but it lacks in elements and there isnt used or new cars like GT5 has. Online play for both is ok I would say it's evenly matched.
Got to go play Forza 3 while GT5 people go on to every video saying there is better and waste there time trying to find a video saying there game is better, but while they waste there time i'm going be playing Forza Motorsports 3 :{) look he has a MUSTACHE.

Also the PS3 hasnt got more racers. It has more fanboys that think they can race. Ive played both game's and GT5 is not what you would expect from 2 years of development.
@Zubairtheone - Your logitech argument is nonsense, PS3 is a more open architecture and so it was easier for Logitech to support. 360 will have new wheels for FZ4, including some great wheels from Fanatec. Full HD is 1920x1080, GT5 is 1280x1080 (not full HD!), and it's often running under 60fps, so I think 720p at a constant 60fps would have been a better choice. GT5 is good but below expectations, from the bad shadows to the poor quality of the standard cars and interiors for premium only.
I've played both games. I've been playing Gran Turismo since 1998. And I played FM2 and FM3 for a long time too. Better things on Forza than GT5: Enigne Sounds, enigne(motors) physics and clutch usability; also customization and damage. Better things on GT5 than FM4: Overall graphics, detailing, Physics (FM feels arcade-ish), reaistic tuning. And FREE online gaming, thanks to the PS3 and SONY.

both great games. But you can NEVER compare which is a better simulator in terms of physics/realism. Why??? Because FM4 doesn't support full 900 degree steering. Yeah you can turn your Fanatec wheel 900 degrees, but the game only recognizes up to 270 degrees which is a real bummer. I would play FM4 more often if they supported 900 degree steering since I'm a wheel and pedals kinda guy when it comes to racing/simulations. I love playing FM4 though for fun times

My opinion has to go with FM3. It seems to have an over all realistic game play. Especially with the steering wheel. And the surrounding graphics are amazing. Not to mention the custom design features. GT5 looks so damn gloomy and depressing. Forza 3 has sunlight.

1. Granturismo is More Realistic, Not too much customization, but nice to play.
2. Forza is more about having fun than realistic gaming, and I find the credit system INSANE in Granturismo cause its so hard to get them.

Gran Turismo has a lot of cars, and that's the only thing I feel lacking in Forza 3. However, I can notice GT lacks damage(better physics by extension) and customization. As to the rest, they look equal.

If you want a pure ARCADE (and boring) game, play forza 3.
But if you want true and realistic simulation, you choose GT5 ;)

Forza 3's HUD is shitty. Gran Turismo 5's Premium cars gives Forza's cars' asses handed to them. Forza's damage modeling is not even good. Reaching level 40 on GT5 gives you MUCH better damage modeling. I don't get a racing game to put faggy stickers onto my cars either. We can have twice as much cars in a map. Speaking of maps, GT5's map are transitional.

I know I can never afford most of these cars irl so I want the best experience when I play the game. That's the reason that I prefer Forza3 over GT5. GT5 looks gorgeus in the premium cars. a little better than Forza. Forza SOUNDS gorgeus. much better than gt5. GT5 lets double the cars race at once online. Forza has more options for games online. GT5 has over double the cars. Forza lets you paint them yourself. GT5 has 24h real time day and night cycling if you want to use it on some tracks and a great weather system. Forza doesnt BUT if you have both consoles you NEED to own both cause they're awesome

@hvovovivhofvhv I am a Forza Player, the graphics are not bad at all when you play the game. The colours are not perfect but the graphics are actually nice. Forza has not achieved the photo realism of the GT5 Premium cars and as long as the developers keep aiming at a 60FPS benchmark on the XBox 360 Forza won't improve too much. Honestly though I would prefer the Forza consistency over the GT standard premium nonsense, when GT fixes it's car sounds I'll be buying it =). Can't wait.

There are pro's and con's to both. I've played both and I have to say I like Forza better. GT5 is fun and there are more cars and you can race in different elements like rain, snow, day, night etc. But, when it comes to the controls are PS1ish. Forza controls are better more tracks but it lacks in elements and there isnt used or new cars like GT5 has. Online play for both is ok I would say it's evenly matched.

Also the PS3 hasnt got more racers. It has more fanboys that think they can race. Ive played both game's and GT5 is not what you would expect from 2 years of development.

@Zubairtheone - Your logitech argument is nonsense, PS3 is a more open architecture and so it was easier for Logitech to support. 360 will have new wheels for FZ4, including some great wheels from Fanatec. Full HD is 1920x1080, GT5 is 1280x1080 (not full HD!), and it's often running under 60fps, so I think 720p at a constant 60fps would have been a better choice. GT5 is good but below expectations, from the bad shadows to the poor quality of the standard cars and interiors for premium only.

I've played both games. I've been playing Gran Turismo since 1998. And I played FM2 and FM3 for a long time too. Better things on Forza than GT5: Enigne Sounds, enigne(motors) physics and clutch usability; also customization and damage. Better things on GT5 than FM4: Overall graphics, detailing, Physics (FM feels arcade-ish), reaistic tuning. And FREE online gaming, thanks to the PS3 and SONY.
