@MarchingMac04 All the same materials, made side by side and just a different worker put them together. Some will swear ones are better than others, but it depends on who had their espresso that day, they are hand made so there are flaws, animal horn has natural flaws. So the variables vary with the material handle that is really about it, and caring for the handle because horn and ivory need cared for not left to dry out.
I see so many different kinds of stilettos made by renzo beltrame, frank beltrame, akc, and walts and i still see so much more makers which in your opinion makes the best stilettos?
You want the honest truth about them, they are the same thing. They are the same material, same exact thing and just a different tang stamp on the blade. They will probably argue that one, but it is the truth.
these knives are "switchblades", a stiletto has a blade that comes straight out of the handle and is much more dangerous and illegal. When you see the two different knives you will know why one is so bad ass.
A stiletto is a short knife or dagger with a long slender blade of various designs primarily used as a stabbing weapon. Its narrow shape, ending in a rigid pointed end, allows it to penetrate deeply. Most stilettos are not suited for cutting, even with edged examples. A typical early stiletto was a one-piece cast-metal handle and blade, which was then hammer-forged in a V-groove anvil, producing a triangular blade cross section without any sharpened edges.
It was used to finish off a fallen or severely wounded heavily armored opponent. The thin blade could easily pass through most mail or find its way through tiny gaps in a knight's plate armor. A severely wounded opponent, who was not expected to survive, would be given a "mercy strike" (French coup de grace), hence the name misericorde.
Later the Gunner's Stiletto became a tool for clearing cannon-fuse touch holes; used in the manner of an automotive oil dipstick, they were often scribed with marks indicating levels of powder charges for ranging distance.
The word stiletto may sometimes be used in American English to refer to a switchblade. Stiletto may also be used specifically for a knife exhibiting the same triangular cross-section and hollow grind, such as a small sword, rapier, or épée.
So Stiletto is used for a switchblade knife in American English but it is not a very accurate way to because as you can see it is a blade style not a particular knife.
hey man, how expensive are your knives? like on average?
because i dont know if these knives im looking at are good or bad quality. is a regular switchblade that costs 13 bucks gonna be a cheap piece of shit?
or do i have to spend like 80 bucks on a good knife?
It is the same thing, I did search around fo my lower priced stilettos and I have the best ones out their for the pricing that I offer. I do also have ones that are in the middle pricing range which obviously are better. You get what you pay for, so don't have pipe dreams that lower priced things are the golden fleece to your knife collection.
if you can find one get an Italian like the one above. I've seen tons of knives from all over and Italians make the largest and best retracting knives. Do not get caught with it or use it in any altercation(unless u think it would save your life and are getting attacked); they are considered deadly weapons and carry time equivalent to shooting handguns.
Iv been looking at a few switchblades I just recently moved to Arizona were apperanly they are compleatly legal (fuck Cali) I was trying to figure out what brand to buy I already know what style I want I just don't know what brand is better iv been told FB is the lowest quality but I just want 1 that won't turn into a piece of crap after about 6 months any1 know a good brand
I disagree with that Frank Beltrame makes good stuff, I think better than Armando and Renzo. It all depends on what model you are after. You buy cheap shit you get cheap shit.
for colletion, passion, art, or, to kill someone. lol but you would be suprised how mutch people love stilettos just for the italian craftsmen ship, for the auto knife factor, and the amazing scales on handle, so i think, they do have a "point"
Not normally, if you open and close it repeatedly over and over with some OCD effect then yes it heats up and could snap because there is no need to open and close it over and over and over and over for no reason other than playing with it.
Not true California has a 2" law and that is about carrying them into public, then if you are law enforcement, military, or have one arm the size doesn't matter, so they are available.
would you recomend this for everyday use? cause im thinking of buying it? it's priced pertty good n it made by akc. but is it too bulky and cumbersome?
The dagger and bayonet are designed with stabbing as the basis that is true. Collection is one main point that people have but stabbing isn't, I do know people who use them as a letter opener and some guys like the style for the tackle box and skinning fish. So it is personal choice with what someone wants to use it for.
I would have to agree, you'd be in the clink for sure with size violation alone in most places regardless of the fact it is a switchblade. Just a collectors piece. What even crazier they go up to 18" as well.
Yeah, but I looked at the laws for Florida and Arizona and it doesn't say anything about size restrictions, so could this imply its legal to cary those size switchblades in those parts?
Some states have no restrictions but they can not be concealed, so you can walk around with it visible but probably considered a lunatic with a broadsword at your side.
This1 is awesome. for any1 who doesnt own a switchblade and u want a good one, and for w/e ur plannin on doin with it, go with the 13" model, cuz the 9" isn't even intimidating at all. also, go with AKC or Frank B, cuz they are extremely sturdy, its worth the extra money. the cheaper models fall apart after a few weeks anyways so in the long run its worth it, trust me. also I can vouch for JB, he keeps his word on everything and is very reliable. peace.
theres brand new fake 13' AKCs coming out of china and the tang stamps are VERY similar. Unless it has a nickel silver bolster soldered to the back liner, its a fake

The Italian word "stiletto" comes from the Latin stilus meaning: "a stake; a pointed instrument".
The stiletto, also called a misericorde ("mercy"), began to gain fame during the High Middle Ages, when it was the secondary weapon of knights.
