I got junk mail from Ron Paul's Campaign for Libert y today---"Audit the Fed Now" form. What a waste of time. This should have been done 40 years ago, not now. Do you really think our Reps care about our opinion? Remember---they didn't care when we all went on a phoning/emailing/mailing campaign to not do the first bailout---why would they care now? One more thing, Ron Paul's been in DC since the 70s... It took this long to coordintate and move the people? Too little & way too late.
I've always been politically pro-active, and have not been "taking it." But I get your point. It is always better to try something, rather than simply do nothing. However, what we have been trying---phone calls, emailing/mailing and holding rallies here and there---has had little effect on changing the policies of our Reps in DC.
I am open to any tangible ideas---anyone have anything worth a hoot out there? If so, let's hear 'em.
Actually, the best idea I have heard is the simplest, yet least likely to occur. On one normal business/workday, every American should simply stay home. No shopping, no exchange of commerce. Everyone would have to take part... Not likely at all, but... This simple, PEACEFUL act would shake the system. Then, rallies could be held to remind those in power what had happened, and that more, longer, days off could be taken if proper changes do not occur.
The supreme court has ruled that the 50 states are countries with respect to each other but under the 14th amendment system you are participating in rebellion against your de jure country when you vote, through contract as well and that is why you have to pay IRS and so forth.. and are responsible for the national debt. watch all 6 vids for more info please watch?v=G1B33IvnJ4M&feature=channel_page
We have avoided debt as much as possible, have our own garden, our own chickens, our own well, etc---and it is our hope we can ride out the coming economic storm.
Our system is broken!!! We have multiple, terminal cancers---there is no fix or cure! The entire system must completely crash, before we can rebuild.
.. i agree . It is so rotten and so malignant, so anti environment ,anti planet and anti life. I for one cannot wait for this system to fall, and with it all the tiers and hierachies of the global elites. once this is over they will never have this much power to steal again.
You can choose to consume from entities that do not pollute if you so choose. Of course, with the government, the entities that have the most power and influence can crush competitors through legislation.
I was a precinct leader for Ron Paul; walked and talked to everyone in my precinct (and helped other precincts)...
He had the right message, but he was the wrong messenger.
As far as the Campaign for Liberty, it has also done very little, at least so far...
Kinda like the Tea Parties...
Remember how we all called and wrote our leaders not to vote for the first bailout? Remember how our Reps listened to our collective voices? Oh, that's right, they didn't!!!
daniel , I kind of support this but harking back to the founding fathers who were mainly landed gentry who owned slaves en masse leaves me uncomfortable. Also how does this campaign sit with abortion rights and gay rights ? seems to me the right wingers have hijacked the term liberty and seem to forget thatit was not enough intervention/regulation that created this financial mess in the first place.
.. as a friend of mine said , its one thing to campaign for liberty , but to defend the old capitalist structure , that has spectacularly failed is quite another. This insidious attack on socialism ( whatever that is) to me smacks of a deliberate attempt to disavow the disastrous effects of capitalism that we are all experiencing now. If anything this mess shows us that capitalism has not worked. greed unregulated will always eat itself ( and us along with it)
Hopefully Daniel will address your points soon, but in the meantime you could give this some thought:
1. Campaign for Liberty is not a "right wing" organization. Yes, many disaffected Republicans have joined it, but also Democrats, Libertarians, Constitution Party and Independent voters.
2. The human failings of the founders doesn't discredit their accomplishments in framing the Constitution and their vision of Liberty.
Free market capitalism always ends up this way. The rich get richer and use every means at their disposal to kill all competing businesses. Then they gain superior legal status and the laws are changed to serve them, then finally they take over governments until the elite are basically owners of everything and everyone. Now we're all being deliberately pushed into poverty to make good servants out of us.
2. What we're experiencing isn't a failing of free market capitalism. It's not just human failings thats causing power to be sort of accidentally moved into the hands of fewer and fewer of the ultra elite. This increasing disparity between rich and power, between the powerful and the powerless, is hardwired into the system. You can't get free market capitalism without what we're experiencing right now.
I'm not saying I have a better solution. I'm just pointing out what our problem really is.
Your entire argument rests on the assumption that government is a necessary prerequisite for a free market, when in reality, forced barriers to entry is the Anti-free market.
That's a point but if government didn't exist, the free market would become the government, complete with policing powers, licenses and a legal system which would be designed to protect the elites who control it and it would be used to help crush any free market competition that might spring up to challenge the controlling interests. Security forces (like the Pinkertons back in the 20's or blackwater now) would be formed to enforce the ruling elite's will. Everyone else would be slaves.
In a capitalist society, where government services are privatized, therein lies competition between all provisions of the would-be government. Private police competing with eachother to provide the "optimum" service to the consumers, private encryption (licenses require a state), and private DROs and Arbiters to "enforce" inter-subjective preferred behavior or laws.
To crush competition, one must provide a good or service that is more valuable to the consumers. How is this a negative?
Artificially low interest rates set by the Federal Reserve manipulated investors and consumers into thinking that the time-preference shifted from future consumption to present consumption. Much more houses were built than really demanded, as you can see there's vacant lots of row upon row of model t homes in places such as California.
Government Mae and Mac subsidized mortages for people who would have never qualified under a prudent bank for a loan.
Anything that wants money cannot and should not be trusted. That's what I ment. He is SCREAMING nonprofit but he is still collecting donations. DOSENT THAT SCREAM BULLSHIT TO ANYONE ELSE BUT ME???!
The #1 thing we need to do in the transition is to no longer be the silent. We need to take action, please take time today to check out the Campaign for liberty.
Daniel you rock, thank you for taking time out of your day for making these videos.

Dear friend. We have not had free market capitalism for a long time. Corporate cronyism and political corruption is what is failing us.
tlaz54321 2 years ago 2
Corporatism, central banking, and fiat currency has failed.
This is all state-capitalism with forced barriers to entry. Not laissez faire.

Pinkerton took on private and government contracts up until 1893 (where it became illegal for a government employee to hire a pinkerton employee).
And for Blackwater, "At least 90 percent of the company's revenue comes from government contracts, of which two-thirds are no-bid contracts."
And people would be slaves relative to what? Governments? Can you show me a death toll of 200+ million attributed to anarchist communities?
200+ million = state killings in the 20th century.
