Hey, that restaurant setting behind Clark and Carole was from "I Love Lucy"! What was that restaurant called again? Something to do with the brown derby... but this is a wonderful video of hollywood lovers.
when orson and rita saw each other , it was magic. liz and richard, frank and ava, true , mad , endless love. no acting invovled:) thanks for posting this
@meimeiswan yeh this was one of my early ones, and the music they removed the original song i used and this was literally the only decent song in the youtube bank that isnt copyrighted, it is not a good choice. Thanks for watching anyway, this is my new more 'polished' channel
@Adinax86 well if you read the description box you retard you would see that actually a classic song was used, but then youtube removed it and this was the only song left in their none copyright box that was about 'love'. next time read the description box before you try making me look like an idiot, because it just backfired
Aww.. reminds me of wonderful things. A good song you put with the video. Looks so romantic to see the classic hollywood lovers together with this song playing.
Love this song, who sings this and what is the title? "Oh Delilah, What You Do To Me?"
Weren't most of these just couples on the screen and maybe not in real life, some surprise me, like Jimmy Stewart, but maybe this was before he met Gloria. It's sad that Harlow and Lombard died so young, it makes you wonder if they would have stayed with their mates, Powell and Gable, if they had lived. We'll never know, certainly a thing of Hollywood legend.
no, it's widely known he had a romance with Dietrich, in fact there's a strong rumour that Dietrich was pregnant with his child but had an abortion. This was during filming of Destry Rides Again, which was made a few years before he married his beloved Gloria.
William Holden & Audrey Hopburn were going to get married but she only turned him down after she found out he had vasectomy. She wanted to have children in her marriage. He was already married but separated. I read this in his biography.
@skristoferu the reason that Holden had a vasectomy so young was because he and his wife, Brenda Marshall, were not faithful to each other and he did not want to impregnate another woman he might be having an affair with. Too bad, because he and Audrey would have had gorgeous children. I'm glad that Audrey stood to her guns though about having children. Apparently, she never found true love in her husbands, but she did have 2 sons from her two husbands.
@skristoferu I don't blame her for not wanting to marry him for that reason. Too bad they didn't have today's modern science back then, he could've had it reversed. They would have had beautiful kids too. I understand that when she married, neither husband was the love of her life. It was something that brought sadness in her life by not marrying the man that she truly loved.
yes, it is well-known that they had an affair. It is rumoured that Dietrich became pregnant with Stewart's baby, but had a termination. It could be just a rumour, it could be true. I dunno
I love this song (who sings it?) but I feel sad when I see some of these pictures and the song plays right into my sadness. When I see Harlow and Lombard, both who died so young and tragically and left their men in such a state of sadness and shock, and Vivien and Olivier, whom she loved so much but whose mental illness caused a huge problem within their marriage. Even so, to be loved so passionately as these couples did, who wouldn't love it. I would, even if just for a short time in my life.
glad that you included William Holden and Audrey Hepburn, to bad they couldn't last due to Holden's Vasectomy... not to mention is horrible marriage lol. I really liked them together though.
I don't know if it's true but I saw in a documentary about Hollywood Gays during the Golden Age of Movies that it mentioned Barbara Stanwycks Marriage with Robert Taylor was set up by MGM and that Robert was in fact gay.
Claudia:Taylor and Stanwyck were clearly heterosexual, believe me, I know them very well. As for Taylor his very well-known relationships were Lana Turner, Ava Gardner, Lia Di Leo (during his marriage) Romina Tcherina, Yvonne De Carlo, Eleanor Parker and Ursula Thiess, his second and last wife...
Although Barbara knew that he doesn't love her anymore , she never stopped loving him until the day of her death. She was never embarrassed to admit to everybody her eternal love for Bob Taylor. There are countless quantity of notes and interviews in magazines, stories of co-workers in different autobiographies that credit these facts. This it's amply documented...
After a tree years romance and after of an article appeared in Photoplay titled "Hollywood's Unmarried Husbands and Wives" (January 1939), Taylor and Stanwyck were pressed to marry by Louis B. Mayer in order to avoid public scandal. "The studio arranged everything", Taylor said, "All I had to say about the whole thing was 'I do'".
They were pressed to marry but they loved each other.
@Shurayuki18481 I can not say if the man was gay or not, as long as they have talent that is what I care about. But have you ever noticed once a well knowen famious person dies, they say or hint they were seratly gay. I am not againest gay and some were but if 10 /20 percent of US population is gay then how can 98 percent of dead celbraties be gay, the math dosent add up
@gibbdreamer Oh look I dont really care any more they'e just rumours, there are also rumours that he proposed quietly to a miss Eleanor Powell, the saviouress of MGM studios. She apparently refused quietly too.
Another great compliment to the classic screen couples. Thanks for including Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, Mary was lucky to have been loved by two great men, Doug and "Buddy" Rogers. Very nice Claudia!

Marilyn died of an overdose in 1962, she was 36. No one knows if it was suicide, accidental suicide or if she was murdered.
Marlon died in 2004 of pulmonary fibrosis. He was 80 i think.
