hey hi im about to buy one of those stearing weels but im not sure if is worthit kuz im not sure if im going to get the same filling of a real car like for example the stearing can u change it from 180 dgrs to a normal car's like more than 300 d grs and the shifting do you really have to pres on the cluch every time you change gears on manual mode and what if i try to change the gears without using the clutch?
dude its 100% worth it, its the best there is. i use one for more then 2 years intensively, like almost everyday. No problems till now, working awesome. The feel is like the real thing, yes u can turn wheel 900 degrees if u like, and yes if u set clutch to manual and change gear back, the will behave as in reallife...Dont! :) When clutch on manual u can drive like a rallye driver, giving gas in between backshifts to adept engine rev's to higher rev's.
The pressure that u feel of the clutch when pressed, is like real, and diff then the pressure on the brake pedal. Its the best, buy and enjoy. Cya online :)

I LOVE the G25, I was one on the first guys to get it and all my buddies used to come over to race with it for hrs on end. It was a dream come through for guys like us who love driving manual (stick shift)cars. I am now building a console with the G25 to replicate my Euro BMW e30.
Its well built, strong and with stainless steel and real leather adding to the realism, how better could it get? This wheel and pedal pressures with FFB is so realistic.
Which racing are you using? I like GTR2 and GT Legends. There are so much support forums its unreal.
i only have gtr 2 (speck of the devil i was just playing it) but i have one complite wiht the game i have a great race going 3 hours into it a guy slames on the brakes on a staright i slam into him doing 280 km/h and my car is totaled, and thats the second time this week. but other than those too things i love the g25 and racing gtr 2. ( i use the sim difficulty wiht 150% strength and the super crazy aggressiveness) hbu

OMFG who said lfs is arcade? in terms of car physics and real feel lfs is the best sim ever made... i play and have all the pc sim of the market and no doubt lfs is the game that puts a smile on my face!! i dont say gtr2 or rfactor are bad, they're kinda interesting because they have real cars and tracks... but use lfs with that wheel with handbrake and 3 monitors, you'll have chicken skin everytime you drift xrt :) ... and wait till s3 comes developing the game more and more! ...

I drove LFS since... well, before it was even a beta. Like 0.1 Alpha, I forget, its been forever. But I switched to GTR2, and I can say without a doubt GTR2 is the more realistic of the two. I love LFS' tire physics, but absolutely everything else about the game (fake cars, fake tracks, brutal graphics and terrible sound effects) let GTR2 shine.
Just thought I should mention that for such a hardcore race simmer hes not even using the proper shifter setting, if I'm not mistaken, all FIA cars are using sequential shifters at this point, no more 6 speed H pattern shifters.
Sorry to have to tell you that you a are very much mistaken. You will see the exact same real race car doing a qualifying lap if you do a Google search for HANS STUCK NURBURGRING BMW M3 GTR The real car does have a 6 speed H pattern gearbox
My title clearly says BMW M3 GTR so even if you looked up that car you will see your claim is wrong.

You know with the G25, can you upshift and down shift slowly (time your time whilst shifting because that will make the wheel more realisitic. But who care im getting 1 soon!!! : )

no there isn't..i just bought GTR2 lastweek..and in the full version u can't even do it..it suck yes but gt cars don't use the clutch that much anyways..maybe on downshifts, but up i don't think soo...maybe i'm wrong.if anyone can correct me plz do.
On GTR2 you can avoid using the clutch without shifting. I think there is a third party patch for it that will grind the gears and stall the car if you do not use the clutch.
I will look into this for you guys and will let you know soon.
here's a tip...get rid of the ingame wheel!..it make's the game just that much more fun&real. BTW, i got a G25 too..and it's the BOMB! Logitech FTW!...check out my fav's in my channel, all the best incar vids...
Posted it 1000 times, not a racing suit, it's a winter jacket, cold where I am especially I the basement where my racing sim is. I wear gloves because I do actual participate in real BMW track events and so like to keep the real feel on the simulator as well.
Great gear (nice racing overalls too :P), I'm trying to get rid of my Driving Force Pro to get one of these.
Here's a tip: try to be smooth with the controls, use as little of steering as possible, this way you'll go even faster and you'll bring the car to the and of a long race without much wear. Otherwise, great drive!
well, because FIA GT cars don't have paddles to shift gears, and this cars actually uses a H pattern shifter, so...
the point in having this kind of equipment is to simulate driving the actual car, and these games (GTR2, rFactor, LFS) are amazing at that, so why not take the most of it and enjoy some driving pleasure?
Thanks for the comment. The car is completely stock, I have not worked on it at all, it understeers like a SOAB. I have to put in allot of steering input to compensate. I like building the cars, used to spend many hours building and tweaking, have over 50 hrs in F1 Challenge just building the then, BMW Williams, have to make some time for this sim.

It's not my racing suit, it's my BMW winter sports jacket. I have my simulator in my basement and since I am in Canada, it's very cold in winter so the jacket and gloves are to keep me warm.
I use the clutch pedal all the time. If you listen to my down shifting you will hear me revmatching/ heel and toe braking, neither of which can be done without the clutch

In GTR2 when you H&T-ing the driver on the screen puts his left foot on the brake, having right foot still on the gas. The game can't detect if you are HTing or just left foot braking. I've noticed that driving the same car in this game. G25 rulezz =)

It understeered more than oversteered, typical with a stock set up. I have to spend a few hours to modify and test drive it to get the right set up for Spa. Spa is a very demanding track , needs lots of down force and straight line speed at the same time, so a trying combo to achieve. Gear ratios and suspension mods are a must.

Don't know what you are talking about in the above statement. Actually the M3 in that sim closely matches that of the real M3, actual clips shows that. Downshifting while rev matching and heel and toe braking are quite normal practices among real race car drivers and does not "destroy the transmission" in any way.
No you blip the throttle on downshift to keep the rear wheels from locking up and you spinning around. It does not "destroy" anything. It prevents it.
Start driving online mate, and not with AI on 100%. Just think you are the best in the world when you says: "I have been driving sims on SPA nearly 12 years now, I know SPA like I know my father" 1 sec, at least as a margin had I take you with online...
where did u get the impression that i claim to be the best in the world? All I said is that I know Spa really well, where did you get the best form? Quite contrary, I don't brag, if you really want a challenge, lets meet here on a real track with real race cars :)
I plan to race online but after I build my racing cockpit, I have not used my g25 for months now, too busy.
haha enjoy it now because when u get ur G25 and play for a while...nothing will ever be as good unless its more expensive. I tried using the momo after i got my g25, it was horrible
Thanks for the props. I have driving on Spa for a long time, since a few F1 sims were out years ago. I know the track very well and I learn to drive on a manual and only owned an auto for 2 years, so stick shift is my second nature as well.
LOL wow, you actually went as far as wearing a racing suit... that's pretty hardcore. Is the shifter really worth it? Doesn't it make a cheap "clicking" noise? Now you just need a widescreen monitor...

The monitor is actually 20" looks samm in the vid. That view is more pratical, thats the view you see when you drive, you see your arms, that angle of the dash and thats the right feilf of view of the track etc. Anything closer puts you on top of the steering wheel.
Who reads all the posts? If you don't want to keep repeating yourself, I suggest you write in the video description where people can actually find (not in a pile of posts).
Also, it seems kinda strange how you're seeing the drivers arms and steering wheel in the car. You already have the arms and steering wheel in front of you (in real life) so it seems like an unrealistic field of view. If all you could see were the guahges and not the wheel and hands, then that'd be sweeeet.
please answerme, tellme more details and givme your opinion. i all ready have a racing weel from logitech , the"dribing force" with force feedback.

well, because FIA GT cars don't have paddles to shift gears, and this cars actually uses a H pattern shifter, so...
the point in having this kind of equipment is to simulate driving the actual car, and these games (GTR2, rFactor, LFS) are amazing at that, so why not take the most of it and enjoy some driving pleasure?

Actually, there's the F360 (not in the championship anymore) and the F430, they use paddles to change gears.

Let me correct myself, the F430 has a sequential gear stick, but i'm pretty sure the F360 GTC uses the paddles.

it's possible, dunno. i think the gillet vertigo in gtr2 also uses paddles, iirc. but the M3 doesnt anyway :)

Thanks for the comment. The car is completely stock, I have not worked on it at all, it understeers like a SOAB. I have to put in allot of steering input to compensate. I like building the cars, used to spend many hours building and tweaking, have over 50 hrs in F1 Challenge just building the then, BMW Williams, have to make some time for this sim.

It's not my racing suit, it's my BMW winter sports jacket. I have my simulator in my basement and since I am in Canada, it's very cold in winter so the jacket and gloves are to keep me warm.

I use the clutch pedal all the time. If you listen to my down shifting you will hear me revmatching/ heel and toe braking, neither of which can be done without the clutch

Yeah you do use heel-and-toe (H&T) with clutch and stuff...
In GTR2 when you H&T-ing the driver on the screen puts his left foot on the brake, having right foot still on the gas. The game can't detect if you are HTing or just left foot braking. I've noticed that driving the same car in this game. G25 rulezz =)

It understeered more than oversteered, typical with a stock set up. I have to spend a few hours to modify and test drive it to get the right set up for Spa. Spa is a very demanding track , needs lots of down force and straight line speed at the same time, so a trying combo to achieve. Gear ratios and suspension mods are a must.

Don't know what you are talking about in the above statement. Actually the M3 in that sim closely matches that of the real M3, actual clips shows that. Downshifting while rev matching and heel and toe braking are quite normal practices among real race car drivers and does not "destroy the transmission" in any way.

Yes, it actually saves your synchromesh rings from being destroyed.
Having your wheels lock up creates so much counter torque.
Unless you can rev match perfectly.

No you blip the throttle on downshift to keep the rear wheels from locking up and you spinning around. It does not "destroy" anything. It prevents it.

I plan to race online but after I build my racing cockpit, I have not used my g25 for months now, too busy.

haha enjoy it now because when u get ur G25 and play for a while...nothing will ever be as good unless its more expensive. I tried using the momo after i got my g25, it was horrible

Thanks for the props. I have driving on Spa for a long time, since a few F1 sims were out years ago. I know the track very well and I learn to drive on a manual and only owned an auto for 2 years, so stick shift is my second nature as well.
You can be as good if you practice.

Not a racing suit, I wish you guys would read he posts before, I have explained a million times.
The monitor is actually 20" looks samm in the vid. That view is more pratical, thats the view you see when you drive, you see your arms, that angle of the dash and thats the right feilf of view of the track etc. Anything closer puts you on top of the steering wheel.

Also, it seems kinda strange how you're seeing the drivers arms and steering wheel in the car. You already have the arms and steering wheel in front of you (in real life) so it seems like an unrealistic field of view. If all you could see were the guahges and not the wheel and hands, then that'd be sweeeet.
