Man, I just learned about Kirk from an amp demo. MAN! I've been looking for a blues player who really cooks without being another SRV clone. Can't wait to check him out live!
i giant in the making. check back on eli in 5 years. he deserves to be in the upper leagues, as he is somewhat a 'heir apparent'-a breath of of fresh air in times when everybody thinks of john mayer (nothing against him) and kenny wayne shepherd as torchbearers of the blues. kenny could never pull of what kirk does.
@FredSmithRoad I agree with you. What i like most about Kirk is that he's not just some "poser" with a Strat who is trying to fill SRV's shoes. He plays phrases that are close to Larry Carlton/Robben Ford in terms of complexity & feel. I've spoken to Kirk on myspace and he's just a real approachable guy. (no ego whatsoever).
@thailow117 I thoroughly agree. Kirk has that legendary feel which is a combination of all the "Kings", Buddy Guy and even Cornell Dupree and some country guitarists. When Kirk came on the scene i was so pleased a young TALENTED black guy who was playing Blues instead of boring Rap.(speaking as an ethnic person myself)..i'm his fan for life. He's also such a thoroughly nice, genuine guy..very modest like Derek Trucks (unlike Mayer & many others)
Kirk would make that blues boy poser John Mayer go home cryin' to his mama...

+1 on the comparison to KWS, Kirk definitely has a *lot* more feel than he does.
