This piece is beautiful example of organic expressionism. It changes and grows clumsily giving an aesthetic linked to emotion. This is the opposite of formal composition which adheres to more strict rules. This is piece is a triumph of modern aesthetic taste, if not for its structure then for its beauty.
This piece very moves me. It deeply inside my soul stirs. It is the mantra of a divine musician who has tasted of the sweetest and most carefully fermented honey. Without throwing up.
Touch my heart, Sakamoto--with your foot...
For thine alone doth speaketh in musical tones placid and calming so much--
Thou maketh my headaches recedeth--
And if that ain't music, well, it is at least aspirin.
thanks for the beautiful pictures. the music make me remember Japan. I love the country. of course very beautiful music. Ryuichi always capture the best of east and west.
In Japan, "out of noise" is including his own naration about the album for about 30 minutes. In this track, he explain "hibari".As you know he has been crazy about Glenn Gould since he was a elementary school student. One day he heard that the most favorite novel of Gould was Soseki Natsume's "Kusamakura"("Three Cornerd World" in en.). This novel is beginning with naration of an artist walking alone in a mountain way. In this sequence few Hibari(skyalark) is singing background of an artist.
does this song remind anyone else of Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time? i forgot which song it is that you learn in the game, but this sounds just so similar to it.
One must be sensitive, look inside the music, understand why each note is there, to understand why this is no repetitive. It is not a background song for listening while one is surfing the web, it is music, for stoping what you're doing to listen to it with every piece of your mind. If done this way, it may take you to a mental state of grace.
I love how music like this brings together so many amazing people, I love this music, and if you do too please click my name and add me as a friend :)
@daniel24892 I think it's fun to go through and try and pick out the differences. It's like the ultimate minimalism. Adding just the smallest details each time. The most noticeable is how the distance between the echos spaces out.
i need moar of this. "ever changing", but slightly. perhaps very slightly. can someone help me out?
something like steve reichs music, but not as hectical, just like this.

Maybe most of those illiterate trolls which you says are not motherlanguage speakers of english (like me).
Sempre tutti pronti a criticare invece che farsi i cazzi propri.
Bellissima canzone comuunque.
peccato che il panorama europeo non riesca più a produrre musica pianistica o "classico-contemporanea" decente...

So Sakamoto hit upon this song. (I'm sorry for my funny English. I have never got out from Tokyo city. I just learned English in school.)

@djrobita Your English is actually pretty decent. Better than most of the illiterate trolls that post on this site.

reminds me of Daft Punk.
It may sound as if it is on repeat, but the change is so subtle and yet powerful that the entire song is gradually changing.
You just can't get tired of it
