Gr8 post even if it is a bit mumbled. Really enjoyed Working Week and followed Juilet's career with keen interest. Compared 'Solid Soul' in the mid 80s - see videao response where she performs live on the set. - Enjoy!
Wonderful tune got the 12 ", I lost my mind to this on the dancefloor at Southport 40,If your struggling to get hold of any of this sort of stuff have you tried Discogs ,got loads of stuff of there from all over the world good luck ...
@edan68 nice one!i am from southport living in scotland! will never forget seeing working week live in some nameless club in london in the 90s! love eden
comes from the album working nights. just goes to show how competetive the music business was back in the 80s good bands like this and animal nightlife never got a proper look in no matter how good they were. today any old shit makes it big, you dont even have to know how to play an instrument.
Larry Stabbins is coming out of the woodwork with a new project - with Adrian Utley from Portishead and a mysterious producer called Krzysztof Oktalski...
Companeros on LP and CD, Surrender on LP,Payday on CD and Fire in the Mountain on CD. Payday is a compilation CD (Virgin) but far from complete. On fire in the mountain Juliet Roberts is missed. I'm still looking for a life concert on DVD. I've seen them on the german tv ARD or ZDF in the mid eighties. That was probably taken from their gig at Montreux Jazz Festival.
I have LPs of Working Nights and Companeros. I like Working Nights and the 2nd side of Companeros. I agree that EMI should put together a compilation, perhaps a 2 cd compilation.
Yes, it's a pity the debut album, Working Nights, is out of print. I rate Working Week alongside of those great mid 80s UK retro jazz acts like The Style Council, Animal Nightlife, Sade, Everything But The Girl and Sade. EMI should put together a Working Week compilation CD that includes the original version of this song with Tracey Thorn & Robert Wyatt, Storm Of Light (with Julie Driscoll) and Rodrigo Bay from the Absolute Beginners soundtrack.
Does anyone know where working week are from ?

Working Nights
I bought the cassette tape in 1985, and wore it out, literally. Wish this was on itunes, or somewhere.
