The biggest expense is the air fare. In this case, the ticket to Kenya was about $800, the ticket to India was about $400, the ticket to Bhutan was $350 (a flat rate) and then it costs $250 per day for the visa to Bhutan. The flight home was about $1,200. Other than that, it was really cheap. I didn't usually pay more than $15 a night for the rooms I got and food was always very cheap.
