That music sux, it's not even as good as the original. I don't really think that bubble bobble's graphics were so "bad" as to needing updating without adding anything new to the game. The graphics of the original arcade were pretty good, everything looks like what it's supposed to be, so just upgrading the graphics while not adding nothing new AND introducing scrolling is downright dumb.
Try Parasol stars, which is a rainbow islands 3, which would be BB 4. Parasol stars is the best of the bunch.
i don't mind it. but then again a love video game remixes. you can turn the scrolling off by hitting the r or l buttons but it makes it look like shit.
I would play parasol stars if I could find it anywhere.
The tg-16 version is the best and can be played on a pc with a tg-16 (pc engine) emulator. You can also play the Amiga version or the Atari st version, both systems have very good emulators and the disk image is easy to come by. An AWESOME game.
that really sounds like too much work for me. i'll just pop in my taito collection on ps2 where i can play an arcade perfect version. the only thing missing from it is a joystick the sticks and dirty crap covered buttons.
Not at all. I know what you're saying about it feeling weak, hell, I feel that way about a lot of my reviews, but you got home the major points of the review, which is most important.
I just feel that I could have said so much more. I think next time I'm going to go back to writing scripts. i just have to stop sounding like i'm reading from a script so much.
You kept saying how annoying the scrolling was.

Looks like you didn't realize there's an option to zoom the screen out to avoid scrolling. Just hit the "L" button. Better, right?
