He is right 75 years ago, if you went to the movies with your wife, or girlfriend you dressed normal and with dignity! I have to agree to a point. The people I hang out with know how to dress and act appropriately whether going hunting or to opera. I have noticed a trend of many people, of all countries not just Americans, just showing up in whatever they feel like. Church, airline and train travel and many other activities used to mean at least a sport coat. Not to many now. I am asked occasionally why I am dressed up. Yes, I totally agree with you. I remember the days of going to the airport for a flight and everyone was dressed up in suits/dresses/skirts...church too. I still dress - my mother is appalled by how people dress/present themselves out in public....is reflective of what is going on the the mind and souls of our collective society.
