This song brilliant, the musicians fantastic, Elvis singing it . . . AWESOME!! Gosh I miss him, especially when I hear him sing songs like this....Yup, Love the song but love Elvis more.

Surely his best record, and surely one of the best vocal performances on record ever. That slow passage towards the end is incredible. I remember this as a B-side. Played it to death. The original pales in comparison.

Man I love this song, it's one of my all time favorites from the King, because all you have to do is listen to the vamp in the intro to be hooked (god it's such a magnificently melancholy song, but that's ok, I absolutely love that). Thanks for the pictures there so awesome as well, but I have to say the photo at 0:52 caught my eye, he looked so amazingly awesome in the bright red shirt and shade!!!

@Zecalran i used to be an elvis impersonator. (cant do it anymore, my voice changed as i aged) but i completely agree with you. when you mimic elvis. theres something incredibly amazing knowing that you can (partially) create that kind of magic that he could create. i didnt do it for the money. i did it hoping i could make someone else appreciate the magic this man created when he sang. there is and will never be another like him. what an incredibly magnificent voice he possessed.
Perfect description of a god,I remember my Mother, who was born a year after Elvis saying "There'll never be another Elvis & they'll still be talking about him in a 1000 years time"!!!!! Maybe someone in 1000 years time will read this and laugh and think it was a short estimate! ELVIS THE ETERNAL
@Alanforfucksake You mother was right hun, he has been gone for almost 33 years but he lives on in the hearts of his fans forever and he will never be forgotten for this reason, his fanbase is growing all the time.

Yeah, I shit two, to three times a day. The difference between me and the coolest cat ever is that I wasn't drinking a Slurpee, and eating a meatball sandwich while dropping the browns off at the Super Bowl.
Not only is this better than Milsap easily, but it also tops Chuck Jackson's. Elvis' passion (as usual) is absolutely palpable. There seems to be a bit too much echo here though in this recording compared to on my CD.
I agree that it is better than Milsap's version but I think I would give Jackson the edge... by a thin margin, if only for the arrangement. I find this arrangement a bit rushed. Still, Elvis delivers as always.
@ol49rrrrr: Being a huge Elvis fan, I would rather listen to his version of any song, even if it's a cover. I usually think Elvis sang better than the original artists. However, I agree with you on the arrangement. I'm trying to get this down on guitar so I can cover it, and it's a bit hurried. I listened to Jackson's version and it was easier to follow.
Can you imagine if Elvis had done it using the Chuck Jackson arrangement? Another Elvis arrangement I find a bit rushed is You Were Always on my Mind. But still, Elvis sounds great regardless of arrangement.
Mr Erikros, Listen here smelly bottom. Where were you when Elvis arrived on the music scene, probably complaining that Elvis is no 'Pat Boone". You sir, no nothing about music. One of your friends e-mailed me and said, "if they let you play the jukebox, you empty most bars" Your a big Boys to Men fan who thinks Heinz Wesch is the best singer in America. You love the Horst Weisel. "Now go home and get your fuckin' shine box"
In all fairness the Elvis comment should have simply been "they has never been a more original or talented artist then Elvis Presley, he changed music and American culture more than anyone else ever has." That but no means there are not thousands of talented people out there. From Elvis came the Beatles and so on and so on...

Taking into account, i play 5 instruments and have alot of different influences for each one, alot of which being 1950 onwards, i wud say i have got alot of musical knowledge.
Im sorry to say, chuck jackson is not that famous and very very few people in my generation know him, but every1 knows elvis. And btw, what the fuck is "you comment stunk"?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I did't enter your demain you came to mine. I only know Chuck Jackson's song and never heard any other. I don't give a dam about your fucking instruments, you can't play shit. If you could play what you coming to my site for. Your dog ass stunck, IDIOT. IDIOT others probably made it too. Wash your eyes out BASTARD I SAID PLAY WITH YOURSELF.
lol thanks for that, just goes to show how "intelligent" you are. You cant even spell, and im sorry but as soon as you start getting angry and using profanities in such way, it just shows how much of a low vocabulary you have. Everyone here would agree, so thanks alot and "Your dogg as stunck" back to you, whatever it means lol.
You can't take a thing from Elvis. You'd be foolish to say so...HOWEVER, I really prefer Chuck Jacksons Version A LOT better! Not that Im putthg Elvis down, I just think Chuck had a bit more of that soul to his version. IMHO
I get chills when I listen to this song...Long Live the KING!!

Taking into account, i play 5 instruments and have alot of different influences for each one, alot of which being 1950 onwards, i wud say i have got alot of musical knowledge.
Im sorry to say, chuck jackson is not that famous and very very few people in my generation know him, but every1 knows elvis. And btw, what the fuck is "you comment stunk"?

lol thanks for that, just goes to show how "intelligent" you are.

IMHO
