I love Sly then, now and forever....but for the life of me I could never figure out what the heck he said at 5:38-5.43 lol !! and to this day I still can't figure it out anyone know?
I recently heard he's not been getting any work. I'd like to see him get some gigs again. The family stones new vocalist who'd replaced him I found was being quite rude and being a braggart while pointing out he's on all sites and pushing that he's the show and always have been but he seems not much older than my sister. I'd respect him better as sly's replacement if he didn't push this 'it's all and only me" attitude at everybody on the bus...
People look at what a man is now, what hes doing, where he is, how much money he has in is pockets at this particular moment in time. Mr. Stone along with The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and many others not only changed music as we know it but the world in general,
Down out..... I don't Thanks so not with his legacy.
He must have been influenced by James Brown amongst others. Music jsut downt sound this funky anymore. SLy was the master of funk. I saw his bass player play in Minneapolis, with Grand Central Station. ALso an excellent band.
the lady on horn is Cynthia Robinson. She was the only lady playing horn in a band at that time. She had a young baby for Sly at the time that he married the Lady at Madison Square Garden, who also had a young son for Sly. The children were only months apart. That must have been painful for Cynthia to watch him get married to another woman and then do a concert right after. His marriage did not last. His wife left him after his dog bit the baby shortly after the marriage. Just some trivia.
At 1:20, Sly gives some insight into his anxieties before a show. After the just blew up onto the scene after DTTM, I wonder how much drugs played a role in helping him to reduce his anxieties and when exactly the turning point occurred, where the drugs became a detriment instead of a help. My feeling is that when he moved to LA and got into PCP, things began to unravel. Through it all, his genius shined for many more albums.
His drummer looks like a retard on the drums?
