love the co-op. Nothing is more satesfying than hauling endless slugga boys down as a devastator in braced stance... however i have not yet completed a whole game of co-op, the whole team usually gets overwhelmed then the orks with shields come and the devastators are all most helpless

Im glad this was free... How come everytime you just do a Public Game it sends me to Arena 4 for groups 16-20? I get that 1-5 and such are probably pretty easy but really Ive done Hab Center Arena 4 like 15x and Escape Arena 4 like 10x and Ive only seen Hab Center 3 once...what gives?!

Why are Taurans even listed as a preset? There's seriously four paragraphs about them on the wiki, and the only book they're ever mentioned in is "How to Paint Space Marines". Get rid of them and get a real chapter in there already.

Don't even get me started on why Thousand Sons and Night Lords weren't presets either.

@8BitOldie Maybe because for it truly to have a Thousand Sons "feel", they have to become rubric marines or psychic powers. This clashes with the standard game model of a Chaos Marine. I for one would LOVE to have a genuine Death Guard zombified look, but that's just not practical.

This is 40K and we - the target audience - judge it as a 40K title. As such, it is simply [a part] of- and contributing with new perspectives to something much larger.

I do understand how SM can be underwhelming to an "outsider", who will not experience it in the proper context. However, that doesn't change the fact that I have been spending the last 10 hours with a huge ridiculous grin across my face.

If you have no previous experience with 40K, then you are - by definition - an outsider, as in "not part of" the 40K culture. Something that started in 1987; an extension of 1983's Warhammer. What is there to disagree with?

A dedicated Star Wars fan will be happier with a good Star Wars game, than, for example, a brilliant Civilization game. These are factors that can't be measured on an objective 1 to 5 scale.

As for imitations; there wouldn't be Gears of War without 40K. Epic Games are obviously fans or deeply inspired themselves, since the influence of 40K is evident throughout the GoW trilogy. The biggest difference (apart from the storyline, of course) is one of [tone] and target audience.

@SaintsWillMarch I was never a big fan of GoW series, to me it always felt like a watered down imitation of 40k, I still had some fun with the MP in the first game however.

SM has given me hundreds of hours with fun and mayhem, both exterminatus, pvp and sp campgain.

The game is far from perfect but its pretty close to what I want, I can't wait to see where Relic is going next with the 40k universe in PC gaming.

@LTVinciti DLC is not out for xbox because MS didn't test it when they received it. Steam and PSN have it but its a little buggy on the searches. Also PSN had it a day early. MS wants them to fix the bugs in the search before they will release it. But to be honest its fine it may take a few tries but for the hour or so of canstant play its worth it. I have it for PC and 360 though. Also level cap is one thing you level at 41 along with weapon levels. You get an acheivment for all weapon perks.

Prior to the release of the Xbox 360 version of the Exterminatus DLC it came to our attention that there was a connectivity issue that needed to be fixed. We have taken the difficult decision to delay the title update and DLC release to repair this issue and ensure that the mode is functioning as intended when we release it. We will share a projected live date for this content on the Space Marine community site as soon as possible.
