Hmmm then again, if you pretend you don't know them and approach them pretending to ask for directions or something you might get to talk to them longer, or they might be amused and actually give you a ride or help you out. If they think you don't know who they are they might just act toward you like a normal person would instead of running away like a celeb who doesn't want to sign an autograph or have photos taken, maybe this guy was implementing that trick ;) You never know. Mum and Dad had taken my older brother (then a baby) to meet his great-grandma in the nursing home, and they had run into Linda-or-Leslie who was visiting her mother.

He has worked on many movies with CGI graphics. He is a really smart guy and, as it turns out, a pretty good actor. Funny how big a deal we make out of meeting celebrities here, but how unimportant they can appear to people who don't recognize them. Just shows how fragile a career like that can be.

The man asked Masi to take a picture of him, becuase Masi is from his native and would understand what he had to say, which was he wanted a photo at time square. Dude, watch it again -- Masi Oka is speaking ENGLISH to the tourist, so it'd be a good guess that the tourist isn't Japanese. Two other things tell me he's probably not Japanese: 1 - The tourist is gesturing as if they didn't speak the same language, 2 - He shook hands at the beginning, and a Japanese person wouldn't do that with another Japanese person.
