Marc Lamont Hill, a PHD in African studies. That is about as usefull as tits on a boar hog. Of very little use today. African studies amounts to little more than trying to figure out how to start a fire with sticks. Enough said about that shithole part of the world.
@manucalrad and as usual an idiot like you makes about as much sense as that stupid prick hill. the facts are what they are about african studies, like it or not there is little of any worth in africa except the natural resources, which the residents themselves did not have the intellect to make use of on their own. with that in mind what does that tell you little baby: UNTERMENCHEN!
@skitman1958 okay why study most thingsl there is very little worth in philosophy or art or american history or world history or physical anthropology. he is still 10X more educated as you, and makes great points. you are just some old poor guy trying to blame a wasted life on minorities. how are those ww2 payments going. PUTA!
@manucalrad there is very little worth in philosophy, art or anthropology. all of these have contributed nothing to the construction of a modern world. they are little more than ideals based on opinions and convoluted abstracts. now when it comes to math i am fully confident i have that moron hill out classed in that. he has proven that just by listening to him babble. ww2 payments? better study your history little girl.
@skitman1958 ahaha you didnt even go to college bitch. you need at least calculus one and calculus 2 in order to get a bachelors degree. haha you have him beat at math ahahah yeah right. lol. haha.
@manucalrad you really are an idiot. you do not need calculus to get a Ba. though for mine i did. what good would calculus do for african studies? you would be better off learning basic hygiene, and not drinking down stream from where you shit. which it is obvious the negro race has not mastered yet. so bitch take your nigger ass back to school and learn how to say "would you like fries with this" because thats all you will ever amount to.
@skitman1958 first be a man and stand on your own two feet. we both know you never went to college. you are a liar and i dont respect that. second i am white, im just not stupid like you. you see old man just because im not an ignorant old racist doesnt mean im not white, believe it or not being white is not defined by hating other races. and finally all i will ever amount to is "would you like fries with this" what does that even mean? hold on by college did you mean glenn beck university
@manucalrad i like hearing from idiots like you. it lets me know that no matter how bad the job market is and no matter your edumication i will always find work. and you will always be serving me my food. so go back to mamas tit. its the only milk you will get today baby. and next time dont burn my fries you mongoloid freak. otherwise it will be time-out and a lash across your skinny ass.
You are hilarious, sir. I'm a black man in year two of a Ph.D program, with a Master's (Summa Cum Laude), and you make my view from the ivory tower that much sweeter. I do indeed thank the good Lord for racists like you everyday. Why?
@dhills2009 Easy there little Duke. That Ph.D is doing you little good. As per usual you asssume because I think Lamont Hill is an idiot I am a racist. What is your Ph.D going to be in chief? Something usefull or useless? My guess is it is in something of little use. But usefullness is in the "eye of the user', like dried shit it is relative. Now, impress me with something besides this bullshit "summa cum laude". What are you going to do to make money? Thats what it all comes down to chief.
1) Clearly, you harbor extremely racist beliefs; I don't care what your disagreements of Dr. Hill are---irrelevant. Your language is clearly racist--THAT, formed the basis for my conclusions, my 'articulate' friend.
2) Its hilarious when whites sneer at the scholarly achievements of blacks--that signals you have little intellectual grounding to do the same. We with a Ph.D, or who have consistently outscored our white peers, have NOTHING to prove to someone like you lol. (cont)
@dhills2009 Give it a rest ace. I have said nothing about myself, I just let you continue on your wild and far reaching assumptions. The education system today is filled with useless degree programs, and the unemployment lines are filled with the idiots that have them. You have no idea what I do or do not have, as unlike you I have not gone into it. I will tell you this, I pay more taxes every quarter than you will likely make in several years of work. By the way, my favorit color is Green.
What you've offered is nothing more than dross--and does not respond to my criticisms. Again, what makes your opinion the litmus test for what is must 'useful' in education?
And your statements about taxes, etc.--irrelevant. Neither you or I can predict the future of my income lol. I can tell you this, though--both my parents have a Master's Degree, and I attribute my solidly middle class upbringing to their educational advancement, so its safe to say I shall do just fine.
@dhills2009 Stay in the middle class all you like. As States cut funding to education you may find yourself with no job at all. Then your Philosophy in Religon/Anthropology will get you a cup of coffie at your local 7-11 and maybe a blow job from some fag waiting outside for pocket change. Why should I respond to your criticisms? Its you that put your life out here for all to see. Your as easy to manipulate as a 5 year old. Except the 5 year old has an excuse. Whats yours?
More conjecture and crude rhetoric. Good job. Further, these are not "my" criticisms. You made a broad statement about doctoral studies, and I asked you to clarify the leap that you made. Enough said.
The economic climate has everything to do with getting into Ph.D programs--if the economy is in shambles, that means less funding--which means less spots--which means more competition to get in.
Math isn't my 'thing', I got a 640 in it; with 760 in verbal on the GRE (cont)
And...please stop revealing your ignorance--I'm not training to be a social scientist--that's anthropology. My field is Philosophy/Religious Studies--anthropology is a methodological approach to those fields.
You've gone off on another ridiculous tangent (your math "skills" aren't helping you now). I've made no blanket assertions. I've asked, for the third time now, you to explain what makes YOU the arbiter of what is or isn't a utilitarian degree, which you haven't.
Further, who are YOU to critique something you've no chance of acquiring, or that you've not attempted? Further, you're an hypocritic, because you know damn well that if it was specifically a white with a Ph.D in....anything, you'd be all over it, ranting about how 'gifted' that white man was---
You appear to be one of those disaffected persons whose lived in the same place his whole life, and thus has become bitter and filled with hate and rancor---its quite pathetic. (cont)
And one more thing---what the hell makes YOU the legitimating factor behind what is or is NOT a "useful" degree? What makes YOU that figure to whom we should direct our intellectual acumen to "impress"? This is what is amazing about whites--you deploy at will this notion that you're the standard reality--the common denominator for all things in the social world.
You people never cease to amaze with your self-imposed, delusional sense of self-entitlement.
My Ph.D, if you must know, is interdisciplinary. It is in Philosophy broadly, but specifically, Philosophy of Religion/Anthropology. I'm going to be a college professor--responsible for molding young minds for CRITICAL thinking--a skill you obviously have missed.
Don't sneer at something you have no earthly idea about--especially when you've made it clear that YOU sure as hell can't do.
@dhills2009 I thought so! A path of study that has no definitive. Little more than vague concepts and ideals usefull only for bleary eyed idealistic dreamers and fools. If anyone hasn't developed "critical" if you will, thinking skills by the time they get to college, they shouldn't be there in the first place. And as a Philosopher you are not very good. You are failing a basic requirment. Your posts are emotionalized, you are too "highstrung" and you are posting faster than your brain can work.
Again...you've no idea about 1) what it takes to get into a doctoral program in this economic climate, 2) the analytical scores (GRE) that most programs require for admission, or 3) the process of gaining a Ph.D in the field---Until you've done it yourself, or have started the process, I respectfully submit that you keep conjectural statements to a minimum.
@dhills2009 Whats the economic climate have to do with this? As far as 2 and 3, your guessing again chief. Not very good at poker are you? Are you better at math? I doubt it. Your not a very good "social scientist" either. My posts tell you everything and yet you are blinded by a simple mindset that you can not see. How can you possibily expect to educate others in your field when you start each day with preconcieved beliefs without knowladge. Talk about sad.
Your statement is absurd. College education FURTHERS critical thinking--the development of intellectual skill is the greatest undertaking of the university system (think the Enlightenment). This is why we have the humanities, natural sciences, etc. All these fields contribute to the development of thinking skills.
You still have failed to explain what makes YOU the arbiter of the usefulness of some academic disciplines over others. Your sarcasm has not accomplished this.
@dhills2009 College education furthers knowladge, nothing else. Thinking skills are developed at a much younger age. And critical thinking is of far less importance than abstract thinking skills. Critical thinking is little more than a sophisticated way to think and talk about why people are people. Abstract thought process, now thats like majic. It has given you almost everything you see
and have. Humanities, natural sciences etc. All useless bullshit, unless you intend on teaching it.
Okay, so all the things you attempt to parse are skills that the university setting nonetheless aid in developing--including the humanities. You've invalidated nothing I said :)
But for the 4/5th time now (forgive me for losing count; must be my 'inferior' math abilities), again, what makes YOU, Mr. skitman1958, the arbiter of 'authentic', 'useful', or 'valid' educational pursuits within the college/university setting?
@dhills2009 So math is my thing. That is true. And now you have it. I love it. It is the only absolute. Without it there is nothing. It is in fact the only way we can talk to "God". Someone once said that. Truefully I hated college. I found that most did not really appreciate the purity of math or really understand what it resolved to. What makes me the arbiter of useful? It is math. If it produces something it is useful. Thought is not useful, the result in it is. That is a fact.
@skitman1958 i agree. i always get tired of opinion, and the subjective side of things. I've been working to get better at math, because i know you limit what you can ido n life if you dont have adequate mathmatical ability.
@dhills2009 Lets see, an idiot in which his head resembles a coconut babbles some useless bullshit on foxnews and that means something? You have got to be kidding. Lamont Hill is a joke and a waste of flesh. You are a worthless piece of shit Lamont Hill, your education was a waste bitch boy.
The fact that Marl Lamont Hill is always looking for racial prejudices is tiring. If racism is clearly there, then deal with it. If it isn't there, stop digging under every rock looking for it.
hill is just an idiot. I mean in this country we have to get past the point where we look at a PHD and think "oh he must be smart". Im willing to bet his PHD is prob in some snow flake subject like sociology or african american studies. Same morons like him are actually payed to teach.
So while you tell me to post the facts, you post your own theory lol. Now tell me whos the moron? Lol FOX puts people with no financial understanding on business shows. Last i checked prime time TV wasnt the measure of a person's brains. Why FOX loves this guy? ask FOX, why FOX puts people with no financial background on finance show's? Go ask FOX. Have a nice day nitwit.
listen guy, i got nothing against you. But is Marc really the guy you wanna champion as an Intellectual? Come on you cant honestly think hes that smart.
@Entropy161 You assume things. No Hill's not an idiot becuase i disagree with him. There are some great left wing thinkers who's views i can respect becuase they present a valid argument. Hill is not one of those people, hes in the same boat as Oreiley here. Both of them are what you would call "great thinkers", they are just TV blowhards.
I'm 25, black, and doing a Ph.D (Philosophy, Rel. Studies). I'd suggest you look at the components of graduate work, before you speak ill of others with Ph.D's. Why don't YOU try it, and see how YOU fare?
...Language requirements, years of coursework, and to top it off, you basically have to write a book (the dissertation) lol. My advice: actually participate in the program first (if you haven't) before calling another Ph.D an idiot. It is no small feat.
@dhills2009 How do you "DO" a Ph.D? lol. Again i understand what is requred for a Ph.D. But not all Ph.D's are created equal and if you cant see that then id say theres a reason your Ph.D is in philosophy. By the way, why did you feel the need to mention that your black?
Your first query is typical lol Surely, you must have heard someone say something to the effect of: "so-and-so DID her/his Ph.D at...(insert school)." Don't be obtuse.
While programmatic aspects of doctoral degrees vary, there are still common themes, the processes of which make you UNQUALIFIED to criticize. But don't lose my point, if it is a 'snow flake' process, why haven't YOU attempted a Ph.D (wherever your specialization is or IF you have one)? (cont)
If you haven't experienced ANY portion of the process to obtain a Ph.D, what makes you fit to speak against someone (i.e. Dr. Hill) who could likely run intellectual circles around you all day, everyday (as a result of his training)?
I mention my race because it's nauseating that people continue denigrating achievements of blacks who've beaten the system. Or when you have to acknowledge it, you DOWNPLAY them as "non-academic" (i.e. your snow flake references).
Bottom line, if you have NO idea (from PERSONAL experience) about what it takes--what kinds of trials and struggles are required to get that degree, you have no place criticizing the accomplishments of others. Come here, to Rice University, (or Northwestern University where I did my Master's) do a Master's and a Ph.D, and then come back and say the same thing that you said of Dr. Hill.
@dhills2009 Hmm you say Hill can run intellectual circles around me all day, go easy on the assumptions there bud. Your right i do not have a Ph.D right now becuase im still finishing up my Masters. But again at the end of the day your just another guy with a chip on his shoulder. Your defence of a degree proves how intellectually bland you really are. At the end of the day no matter how many degree's you have, you will still be an intellectual moron with a chip on his shoulder.
@dhills2009 Maybe you can impress high school girls with your Ph.D. But people like me actually look at the argument and not at the Degree. Trust me there are plenty of morons with Ph.D's out there.
You've veered off to into stuff that has no bearing on any of what I was talking about lol. You weren't listening. I wasn't "defending" the degree--I defend intellectuals--particularly black intellectuals who have to deal with room temperature-IQ whites who have the nerve to criticize them for achieving something they clearly can't lol. Fact is, we live in a world that questions black humanity even at the highest levels (i.e. your response to Dr. Hill) (cont)
@dhills2009 Which black intellectual are you defending? Hill? If you think Hill is an intellectual then you dont really know what your talking about. I also find your statement about whites disturbing. I guess if a white person made the same statement they would be considered racist. Oh well at the end of the day your PHD is still very easy and is at the same level as getting a PHD in bible lol. Why dont you get a PHD in economics or something and then we can talk.
Again...which is what my original point was....given that you've NOT done this level of academic work, you really have no clue about the parameters of the degree, nor what it takes to obtain it lol. But ok...let's flip the script a bit (forgive the ebonics lol). What is your litmus test for what is or is not an intellectual? What are your standards, since clearly your whims are the legitimating factor for academic scholarship? lol (cont)
And you clearly have no idea what my degree plan is lol--especially in a place like Rice University, which forces us to be INTERDISCIPLINARY IN SCOPE (i.e. history, anthropology, and YES, in some cases economics, in which I'm also competent). First, no one does a Ph.D in "Bible"--that just reveals ignorance on your part. There ARE, however, programs in biblical studies, which are probably the most difficult programs--particularly for the emphases on the languages one must learn.
And there's nothing racist about what I said--- I was speaking about whites who happen to be less-intelligent. What I DIDN'T articulate was a wholesale denigration of white intelligence---something that whites have done to blacks for CENTURIES. I find it strange that you'd take offense to my observation that there are SOME whites who are less intelligent than educated blacks, but still criticize their achievements...well, I'm not really surprised--its typical, actually.
Note how I added that qualifier: "SOME" whites. Note how I'm not generalizing and saying ALL WHITES...Yet, we African Americans don't get that same luxury---whites ROUTINELY lump us together monolithically.
No one has a chip on their shoulder, and I'm certainly not a moron. Funny you resort to name-calling; in debate, anger and name-reveal that one is intellectually losing ground and has no other intelligent rebuttal (reasons why the Tea Party is amusing to me).
However, I (and so does Hill) have more to prove to white America; that's just a fact. This is why I and my parents (who both have masters degrees), take pride in it and defend other black academicians. (cont)
Its clear from this exchange that I, not you, am more reasoned in thought--because your responses to me and on this video generally belie the notion that you are enrolled in a Master's program of any ilk lol.
You claimed you "look at the argument"---perhaps you need to look at your own lol.
(and I don't like high school girls; I actually happen to have a fondness for older white women, but that's another matter lol)
Bill actually likes Marc Lamont Hill. I think they get along fine. That is the only reason why Marc Lamont Hill is on Fox even after being fired. He is great though but January, War, forget it man.
i wonder how many subscribers that bullshit conservative magazine the weekly standard has. marc lamont was a smart guy and most of the time he wasnt even going at these guys with his opposing views. fuck fox and all the producers
The Newcon and Zionist humpty dumpty are now sitting on their arm chair and planing the next war. Think before you open your smiling mouths. War is easy to start but you then have no control to its outcome once started, you war loving people.Its interesting then when ms Ham shows her card and brings in MR Nethanyaho good on you for showing your hand early, MR Nethanyaho won't even stop the settlement process and yet Barak should go and help him to start another war.
What are we going to bomb? How effective will that be long term? Will the Iranian people rally and support their country when we attack it? Anyone remember the shah? It's really easy to posture and say "we're out of options we should bomb them" but the world is not a video game. When you attack countries without a good plan bad things happen. Do these guys forget that we're currently occupying two other countries adjacent to Iran? Cable news is worthless for real policy discussion.
its funny how freely people can discuss military action like it were a bodily function. put the shoe on the other foot...would the discussion amongst arabs upon the possibility of driving a few more planes into american buildings be acceptable?
violence is never the answer. we view 9-11 as an abomination, lets view all forms of violence in the same light.
It's not come out why, everybody has had a say. O'Reilly brought Dr. Hill on first, and it looks like Bill is going to bat for him. They show respect for each other. BTW: It sounded like everybody was trying to jump in the conversation at one time or another. I like Dr. Hill on FNC shows. I hope things get smoothed out. CNN is in the toliet and I don't want to see him havin' to do a Step n' fechit for the MSNBC clan. Where have you gone Carlos Watson?
Can you send me an article or something verifying that Hill was fired and O reilly vouched for him. I was wondering what happened to hill but couldnt find any information on what happened to him.
Fuck Hill ...the one eyed con man...

Okay, so all the things you attempt to parse are skills that the university setting nonetheless aid in developing--including the humanities. You've invalidated nothing I said :)
But for the 4/5th time now (forgive me for losing count; must be my 'inferior' math abilities), again, what makes YOU, Mr. skitman1958, the arbiter of 'authentic', 'useful', or 'valid' educational pursuits within the college/university setting?
dhills2009 1 year ago
@dhills2009 So math is my thing. That is true. And now you have it. I love it. It is the only absolute. Without it there is nothing. It is in fact the only way we can talk to "God". Someone once said that. Truefully I hated college. I found that most did not really appreciate the purity of math or really understand what it resolved to. What makes me the arbiter of useful? It is math. If it produces something it is useful. Thought is not useful, the result in it is. That is a fact.
skitman1958 1 year ago
@skitman1958 i agree. i always get tired of opinion, and the subjective side of things. I've been working to get better at math, because i know you limit what you can ido n life if you dont have adequate mathmatical ability.

@dhills2009 Lets see, an idiot in which his head resembles a coconut babbles some useless bullshit on foxnews and that means something? You have got to be kidding. Lamont Hill is a joke and a waste of flesh. You are a worthless piece of shit Lamont Hill, your education was a waste bitch boy.
skitman1958 1 year ago
The fact that Marl Lamont Hill is always looking for racial prejudices is tiring. If racism is clearly there, then deal with it. If it isn't there, stop digging under every rock looking for it.
He's not very smart....like he thinks.

Just another example of 'how to waste air time' from FOX.
Not one of these people are topically relevant to the subject matter.
O'Really has made a career out of asking the wrong questions from the wrong people.
Never forget where FOX broadcasting comes from people - the same place the National Inquirer does.
Name one good thing that's happened to this country since FOX News (so-called) was put on the air?
Rupert Murdoch has sped up 'the race to the bottom' for Americans and America.

hill is just an idiot. I mean in this country we have to get past the point where we look at a PHD and think "oh he must be smart". Im willing to bet his PHD is prob in some snow flake subject like sociology or african american studies. Same morons like him are actually payed to teach.
shaqdaddy11 2 years ago
@shaqdaddy11
You are a moron. Post the facts, No one interested in your dumb theory.
If Marc bought his PHD and if he is an idiot then why is FOX so much interested to bring him back on to their highest ratings show
TheEuphony69 2 years ago
So while you tell me to post the facts, you post your own theory lol. Now tell me whos the moron? Lol FOX puts people with no financial understanding on business shows. Last i checked prime time TV wasnt the measure of a person's brains. Why FOX loves this guy? ask FOX, why FOX puts people with no financial background on finance show's? Go ask FOX. Have a nice day nitwit.

listen guy, i got nothing against you. But is Marc really the guy you wanna champion as an Intellectual? Come on you cant honestly think hes that smart.
shaqdaddy11 2 years ago
@shaqdaddy11 ...So Hill is an 'idiot' because you don't agree with him? What's next? You're going to tell me you're a racist?
Genius. Pure self-important, deluded, puerile, American 'genius...'
Entropy161 1 year ago
@Entropy161 You assume things. No Hill's not an idiot becuase i disagree with him. There are some great left wing thinkers who's views i can respect becuase they present a valid argument. Hill is not one of those people, hes in the same boat as Oreiley here. Both of them are what you would call "great thinkers", they are just TV blowhards.

@shaqdaddy11
It is no small feat.
dhills2009 1 year ago
@dhills2009 How do you "DO" a Ph.D? lol. Again i understand what is requred for a Ph.D. But not all Ph.D's are created equal and if you cant see that then id say theres a reason your Ph.D is in philosophy. By the way, why did you feel the need to mention that your black?
shaqdaddy11 1 year ago
@shaqdaddy11
(cont)
dhills2009 1 year ago
@shaqdaddy11
Or when you have to acknowledge it, you DOWNPLAY them as "non-academic" (i.e. your snow flake references).
dhills2009 1 year ago
@shaqdaddy11
Hill.
Peace.
dhills2009 1 year ago
@dhills2009 Hmm you say Hill can run intellectual circles around me all day, go easy on the assumptions there bud. Your right i do not have a Ph.D right now becuase im still finishing up my Masters. But again at the end of the day your just another guy with a chip on his shoulder. Your defence of a degree proves how intellectually bland you really are. At the end of the day no matter how many degree's you have, you will still be an intellectual moron with a chip on his shoulder.
shaqdaddy11 1 year ago
@dhills2009 Maybe you can impress high school girls with your Ph.D. But people like me actually look at the argument and not at the Degree. Trust me there are plenty of morons with Ph.D's out there.
shaqdaddy11 1 year ago
@shaqdaddy11
Hill) (cont)

shaqdaddy11 1 year ago
@dhills2009 Which black intellectual are you defending? Hill? If you think Hill is an intellectual then you dont really know what your talking about. I also find your statement about whites disturbing. I guess if a white person made the same statement they would be considered racist. Oh well at the end of the day your PHD is still very easy and is at the same level as getting a PHD in bible lol. Why dont you get a PHD in economics or something and then we can talk.
shaqdaddy11 1 year ago
@shaqdaddy11
What are your standards, since clearly your whims are the legitimating factor for academic scholarship? lol (cont)
dhills2009 1 year ago
@shaqdaddy11
There ARE, however, programs in biblical studies, which are probably the most difficult programs--particularly for the emphases on the languages one must learn.
dhills2009 1 year ago
@shaqdaddy11
And there's nothing racist about what I said--- I was speaking about whites who happen to be less-intelligent. What I DIDN'T articulate was a wholesale denigration of white intelligence---something that whites have done to blacks for CENTURIES. I find it strange that you'd take offense to my observation that there are SOME whites who are less intelligent than educated blacks, but still criticize their achievements...well, I'm not really surprised--its typical, actually.
dhills2009 1 year ago
@shaqdaddy11
