  • Great video .... Still need to fix my bass issues . No matter what I try my bass still sounds off -

  • Does Pro Tools or Cubase, or other DAW's have this capability?

  • Good tip , but not so good results.

  • Great tut MAN!!! can sonic academy do a tutorial on synth timbre and layering synths? that would be sweet. to all the comments. Ive known music theory my whole life, this tool can actually help you A TON if you know how many semitones are between chord notes, saves a ton of time, i think this is what the big boys do!

  • its great because im learning theory but still having trouble applying it to what i want, this way is easy cuz i can see the result im trying to get, what it sounds like, how it should look, and such, big ups, u helped me out tons,

always preffered dubspot but nvm anymore haha

  • is there anywhere to get more presets for the chords effect? namely lookinf for something with a deep house kinda sentiment

  • @zawmbees Ive played keyboard and guitar for 25 years and i still use this because its quick, fun and generates some cool results. Limiting your self by not using tools at your disposal is silly. should i get rid of my mac book and Ableton and buy a 16 track tape recorder because its harder? Its all about the end result!

  • @SonicAcademy +1

  • @SonicAcademy Honestly I wouldn't even bother replying to comments like Zawmbees. The only thing worse then a troglodyte, is a beckmesser, and they seem to have both roles down pat.

Anyways, appreciate the work that you and Sonic Academy contribute, really helpful stuff mate.

  • @zawmbees You've come across as being pompous and naive. Go play to some covers to your adoring nonexistent fans.

  • @zawmbees

you talk like a traditional musician... and i respect you point of view but i'm more interested to create sounds and work with frequencies. this effects you've seen are not only for piano and guitars... you could use them with synthesizers you've created and if you are a real musician you know that is not a chord that make a song/track. probably you have too much theory of traditional music that you'll never comprehend the power of sounds theory and experimenting/playing with tech

  • @zawmbees

    1. Why would someone watch a video named "Ableton Tutorial - Tech Tip 14 - Chord & Scale", if somone dont´need the info given here for free.

    2. Why would someone watch chord ans scale tutorials, if someone plays perfectly real instruments and is well known about therory

    3. Sorry zawmbees, but I really don´t get your non sense comment at all!

  • @zawmbees Do you change the intonation on your instrument every time you play? No? Then technology is helping you create music. But Bach might ask, Why would someone want to dumb themselves down like that? I guess if you don't have a very musical ear...

  • @zawmbees your such a dumb ass!!! HEY PEOPLE WE TOTALY KNOW THIS GUY, HE IS REALLY FAMOUS MUSICIAN WITH 1000000.0000000 HITS ON YOUTUBE. Shut up dude and get a life.

  • @zawmbees you don't need to be talented to play music you learn it the same way that you learned to speak some learn it a bit later some faster, those who don't play music just couldn't bother to learn it, not all people speak another language.

  • @zawmbees Mate, the Swedish House Mafia built careers out of this stuff.

  • @cra008 And the SHM suck.

  • music is music, you dont need to know the theory behind it to make something decent and you shouldnt have to. thanks for the tutorial, its exactly what i was looking for

  • nice tutorial, thank you!

  • @SonicAcademy But why would you actually need this feature if you knew music theory? (This is a reply to your reply to TheTurningBull's comment).

  • Why didn't i know this before? Might just renew my SonicaAcademy subscription. Keep it up guys #MindOpening

  • @SonicAcademy never mind i found it, set the midi track to in from the melody track... it works. thanks again.

  • @SonicAcademy i didn't exactly understand, what do u mean?

  • Really helpfull tut,I used to have a subscription, might have to come back!Excellent lesson mate

  • acessem,

    musica eletronica

    houseon.hostnect.com

    não é virus, não é virus !!!

  • A superb feature of Ableton, however as a musician this will make you very lazy! If you don't know much music theory its better to actually IGNORE this feature and learn scales and chords...you will make better music in the long run

  • @TheTurningBull any other cool stuff we should ignore? maybe non destructive editing? we could just start splicing tape again. Dont ignore this cool feature, just learn some theory as well, dont limit anything.

  • @SonicAcademy too right mate why limit yourself , time is of the escence and with a brain like mine it has taken me 2oyrs to learn a pentatonic scale , yeah ha

  • @SonicAcademy SonicAcademy 1 Sour Traditionalists 0

  • @TheTurningBull shut up bitch.

  • So I guess this is pretty much like a schwarzonator max patch......I mean the combination of scale and chord midi effects together create the same great tool as Henrik S.'s powerful Max effect...Please tell me if I am wrong, but it seems finally I could create real good melodies without practicing on the piano for years.......I love it!!!!!

  • Free energy technology exists! But the coverup is very strong,Get a motor that works with the power of magnets only at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Join the energy revolution!

  • Nice work. Live makes everything so easy. I love how intuitive the program is. Excellent tutorial. Cheers.

  • Great tip, thanks!

  • thank you for showing this.. i thought i need the schwarzonator plugin to do that..

  • Thank you so much! Finding out how to use the scale tool has really helped immensely!

  • awesome. does anyone know if there is something similar available for Logic? even as a downloadable plugin. Please hit reply to my message if you know! thanks

  • @naDsIemaNyM logic is rubbish compared to ABleton for music composition

  • @freddy247247 you are silly, logic is just as good i use and teach tutorials on both, logic is far better if you have alot of external gear or want to do a lot of recording, plus the built in effects are alot nicer.

They are both very good tools and saying either are rubbish means you have not used them enough or at all.

  • u can try TONESPACE plugın for chords..u can t belıeve how ıt has a scala..

  • I LOVE YOU!! :D

    Thx for this..

  • pretty cool

  • CAN YOU DO THIS ON REASON????????
